I can imagine/propose few alternative solutions (in decreasing preference):
1. Automatically include all characters that occurs in the EPG as the first character of a program.
2. Somewhere in a setting or the config file give a chance to add the extra accented or special characters to list.
3. List the programs starting with accented characters under the corresponding non-accented character.
4. List all extra starting characters under *, for example.
It would be nice to have 5:4 aspect ratio for 1280x1024 lcd monitors in Settings > General > TV shape.
Adding the lines below to npvr's config.xml does not do the trick; the new option does not show up in the dropdown list.
<AspectRatioModes shape="5:4">
<AspectRatioMode name="Fill">0,0,1,1</AspectRatioMode>
...
</AspectRatioModes>
Probably a modification somewhere else is also needed.
I've just discovered imageGrabLite and I've got it working for the last few days. Great program! , but I have a question. It seems to rename most shows, but some it doesn't. The common denominator seems to be shows that don't have season and episode information in the EPG. Is there a way I can force it to rename programs with just the title and subtitle if there is no season/episode data? Here's an example of a show that won't rename with no episode data. I also noticed it doesn't make a .tbn or a .xml file for the show in the media folder either. I see it looks at Zap2it, I'm using schedules direct for my EPG if that makes a difference.

Also, imageGrabLite runs as my last line in my postprocessing.bat which also does post processing conversion to mp4 on one show only. As it is right now, I have imageGrabLite skip this particular show so I can use NScriptHelper and "%~f1" to get the file name and path for the .mp4 conversion. Is there a way you know of that I could get a variable like "%~f1" after imageGrabLite renames the recording so I could run the mp4 conversion?
Hello NextPVR
I have just installed NPVR, and am thoroughly pleased so far,
however, clicking 'Teletext' on my (Logitech Harmony 650) remote does nothing, in NextpVR
Although other functinons seem fine.
Does NextPVR support teletext? And how can I access it?
I can see posts about teletext subtitles, so I am guessing teletext is supported somehow...
I have a local cable provider, Parknet, in Copenhagen Denmark
in the recordings page of the settings, there's a checkbox which will let you disable deduplication of episodes (which i want to have turned off, since if an episode that i recorded before is going to be airing in higher quality later, i want to keep the later airing for archival). however, if you uncheck the box, nothing happens. moreover, if you reopen the settings page after applying, it is checked again. i also tried manually changing it in the config xml, but that doesn't seem to affect it either.
Hi I'm new to NextPVR (version 2.4.3). I use it with an HD HomeRun HDR3 (OTA only) running on Windows Home Server 2011. Everything seems to be working great so far; I can record shows without issue. The EPG update from the GUI works great but after I manually kick that off, it never updates again. I have it set in the Misc2 page like this:
TV Guide Minutes: 240
EPG Update Hour: 1
I wasn't totally clear what "EPG Update Hour" meant from the wiki description, if that means every hour it tries to update or just at 1AM each day, but regardless, it's not updating. My logs are attached.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!
I was recently away overseas and thought I'd give streaming a try.
I had VLC 1.11 and got a fuzzy picture, but then I upgraded to VLC 2.01 and got nothing???
I can get it to launch VLC holding shoft down, and an orange progress bar flashes across the bottom of the VLC Player Window, then nothing happens?
I also did the "tools, prefs, all, search for auto re, checked auto re-correct" thingy I saw in another thread when searching for help on streaming.
Anything in the logs that can you help you figure out the issue, or other tests I need to do ?
I also thought that streaming streamed the already recorded file, but my peek at the logs suggests that it doesn't matter what show you stream, it reverts to the LIVE channel every time (at least in the classic non CSS version of NEWA I am using).
- Download I am clear on
- Play Program I eventually got to work only with Media Player Classic Home by holding the Shift key so it doesn't download the m3u file (but oddly the progress indicator does not move along)
- But Stream?
Attached logs with a couple of separate tries (am I missing any patches?)
I want to get another tuner or two, and am also considering getting cable and channels that would require a cablecard. To cover all possibilities, I thought I'd just grab a DCR-2650.... but Hauppauge doesn't say anywhere that it can tune regular ATSC broadcast TV.
Does anyone know whether a DCR-2650 can tune ATSC channels from an antenna, or is it limited to QAM? Also, I've read in a couple of places that without a CableCard it will act as a ClearQAM tuner, but again Hauppauge makes no direct mention of this... can anyone confirm?
I could not remember the NEWA admin password, so I reset it.
I can log in to the config web page OK, but when I configure nDroid with the new password, I get FILE_DOWNLOAD_BAD_RESPONSE when I try to update the data.
I have stopped and started the ndroid service - I even upgraded to 1.8.2.
We are in range of 2 transmitters and after the roof aerial come loose I changed to a loft aerial pointing at a different transmitter. So I removed the devices and re scanned. Now though I notice the EPG isn't updateing, auto update fails and when I click Channels > Update EPG a box opens which reads "checking for any dvb/atsc listings" for a few seconds then closes. The EPG update worked before I changed transmitter, what could be causing this?
