It's been working very well with both recordings and live TV for some time. Recently it has stopped working. I can initiate a stream, but I just see a black screen in NPVR, both when trying to watch live TV, and when trying to watch a recording. I can see the live TV file growing, and can successfully watch it in other video players, including WMP (as I can with completed recordings).
I booted up my server from a full disk backup I took a month or so ago, with version 2.3.6, and everything worked fine. I'm fairly certain I haven't made any relevant changes since then, apart from updating NPVR.
I have patches 1-6 from Johnsonx42's sticky.
I've attached some logs where I attempt to play a recording, and here's a short recording that fails to play in NPVR: http://db.tt/ETJ38G7e
It will now do AAC decoding, which might help out some of the UK Freeview HD users, especially if it can convert to AC3 at the same time for bitstreaming to an amp. This isn't something I can test (the Freeview bit anyway), but I'll be interested in its AAC->AC3 abilities for other reasons.
It's full list of new audio formats seems to be HDMV LPCM, DTS-MA (core only), AAC, EAC3, FLAC, MP3 decoding support.
I've been using LAV for everything non-Live TV related, but still rely on ac3filter for TV so that my amp always gets a Dolby Digital stream which is important for stereo stuff that would otherwise be seen as PCM (and not get Pro Logic decoded).
I have been running nPVR with an A110 for several months with no issues. My cable company recently switched over from analog to digital signal, and while I was mucking around with setting the new channels and such my A110 suddenly stopped working. I don't know if I inadvertently changed a setting somewhere or what.
What happens is I get to the Start menu (with the 4 icons), select the right-most icon, and select N-PVR.html. This pops up a little white box where I select N-PVR. Previously this would dislay the nPVR menu, but now it displays a blank screen and eventually goes back to the Start menu (or the A110 reboots).
I ran NMTChecker and here's the output:

Sorry I missed your PM. I just downloaded android 4.0.3 and things seem to work better. I can watch live video over Ethernet using MX player but the audio is off and paused intermittantly -- video looks good. For recorded video,, it doesn't seem to play.
Steve
I am a first time user and I am thrilled I found this app. I am using it with my asus transformer. Live tv and recordings work fine except for MX Player having the problem above. I use wifi. The best player for TS HD is mobo player (which works fine with upnp server for the same files), no hick ups and no issues, however, only MX Player can be used with nDroid, I have 4 other players including mobo player. Do you recommend a player for ATSC HD recordings? Thanks
first, I want to say, that Version 2.4.3 is the best I've tried so far.
But I think there is a bug at the "green already watched-marker" shown in the recordings-screen. This marker is not shown for recordings watched till the end and stopped automatically there. I hope, you understand what I mean.
In this case the value -2147483648 is written in the position-field of the table playback_position, and I think because of this, the marker is not shown. Wenn I manually update the position-field in the database-file to a valid value, the marker is shown.
Can you reproduce this behavior? And if so, it would be great to fix it.
I had NPVR working fine for about 15 minutes this morning then my wife brought up the program guide while watching a show. The video disappeared and selecting a channel resulted in nothing happening (no popup, nothing). Choosing live TV from the main menu takes quite a while to do anything then it shows the channel for 1/2 second, quite, and says the tuner is in use for live TV.
When I go to the server it reports the same issue. After a reboot the server works normally again but the client now only reports the tuner in use (regardless of rebooting both machines).
I wasn't running the NRecord service on the client (though I did try with it running as well) so there's no log for the client NRecord.
I reported this a while ago but then couldn't figure out how to reproduce the problem. Today I had the same issues but this time I was right there with my wife when she managed to do it again.
She tried to play all the videos in a directory by highlighting the directory name and pressing play (not OK). She's used to Sage so when it didn't immediately change screens she hit play again and we could hear multiple garbled sound tracks and the video was all messed up.
After quitting then restarting the client I tried the same thing, highlight a directory then press the remote's play button twice - same results.
I haven't tried this on the server as I had to take it down yet again due to other problems (the wife can't stand more than a couple of hours of me messing with NPVR trying to get it to work).
Now that I have finally got picture and sound on the Popcorn, my next problem is that the picture is larger than it should be.
My TV is a 1080P full HD , I have tried setting the resolution to 1080P but the picture is too large and when I exit from the NPVR stream the TV displays a serious of colour lines and the Popcorn is more or less hung. Changing down to 1080I appears to resolve this problem but the Menus are too large cutting off the top (no clock or options etc) and I believe that the video is probably oversized.
Is there a setting to control the image within NPVR.
Thanks for your assistance again. Almost at the point where I am about to give up on the Popcorn and purchase a WDlive box to watch HD recordings made from Freeview.
Just changed over from old analog cable service to digital cable (QAM). Using Hauppage HVR-2250 tuner. I'm getting a picture, but no sound on any channels. I've verified there's sound on the cable by plugging it directly into a TV. Is there a setting I have to change in nPVR to accommodate sound with this change?
