This is one thing, which comes from time to time and is really, really annoying.
With all planned recordings, there will come a time where you just "forget" to control the recording drive/partition.
If this happens, then NextPVR doesn't say anything. Instead it's starting recording tasks and don't stop them.
Yesterday i had 9 instances of nextpvr.exe on my server, because the harddisk was full. No sentence or warning inside NextPVR.
And this is not the first time, that something like this happened to me.
I use NMT exclusively for playback and today it suddenly stopped working out of nowhere, menus work fine but playback is not possible. I tried a reinstall and reboots with no difference. The only things I see in the logs is this:

Does USB tuner perform as good as internal ones ?
For example : PCI-e dual DVB-T tuner vs USB dual DVB-T tuner
(don't care about the portability of USB tuner)
Only wish to know about the performance of USB tuner .
Heard when it gets too hot, video will freeze and jerk ?
Any issues with multi HD channels recording ?
Or any bad points for using a USB tuner ?
Sorry, no experience with USB tuner . All the while have been using PCI and PCI-e ones .
Thinking of getting an Avermedia Twinstar USB dual DVB-T tuner .
I've got a SiliconDust HDHomeRun tuner and have NPVR set up recording things just fine, but the closed captioning doesn't come up. Is this something that is supported by NPVR? Actually, is this something I need to configure on the HDHomeRun? I haven't tried to see closed captioning directly from the HDHomeRun, but I would assume it is part of the feed from the tuner.
I love newa. So easy to see whats coming on via the treeview, but have a problem. Ipad will not work for css type so have to use regular guide. When i select say 10 new recordings to schedule on a channel, a couple fail, either because they might already be scheduled or there is another recording already scheduled. So i get a pulldown list that shows the recordings and i can select them, but cant figure out what to do next. If i try to schedule at a different time via selecting it in the tree, it erros out. If i click on the failed selection, i cant see what is interefering to rectify to decide whether i want to force that to record or whatever. Please help me see what i am missing, i am sure there is something i can do, i just cannot find it.
Also, i am using schedules direct and the latest newa update.but am new to npvr. Is there anything i have to configure or is it already done assuming i am using the latest version of npvr and newa.

I'd really be happy with some permenantly commercial free recordings (saving 17% of storage space).
I've been banging away at this with little success.
And if you have one that's relatively quick to convert TS to avi that would neat too.

Has anyone else had a problem after installing the latest .NET update on Vista. NextPVR seemed to start ok but an exception box poped up when I tried to do anything. The Recording Service would not start and when I went to look at the Windows event log that would not start either showing a "MMC could not create the snap-in" error. On a Technet forum .NET was suggested as the cause and I had just installed some updates for .NET. I reverted to the Restore Point created by Windows Update and everything works. My client computer works ok with the updates but the NextPVR server fails if I reinstall the updates. I will try to repair or do a clean install of .NET tomorrow to see if that helps.
I recently had a virus incident in Windows 7 that "rocked my world" so I thought I would share and whine about it here :o. I consider myself fairly diligent about internet security - I run Microsoft Security Essentials, have UAC enabled, and use Firefox. Unfortunately, all these "protections" failed me.
I was browsing in Firefox and all the sudden Firefox and Security Essentials shut down and a bogus "Win 7 Internet Security 2012" scanner window popped up. When starting up any browser it would show a bogus page that stated I needed to buy this fake Internet Security program to get rid of another bogus virus. When trying to run all other exe's the fake scanner window would pop up. It turns out that it was able to modify my registry without showing the UAC dialog and without me accepting/Ok'ing any software download or installation!!! I can't even modify the registry as an administrator of the PC without answering the stupid UAC dialog.
I used to feel pretty secure but this incident has crushed that feeling. It seems that Windows offers no real protections and I'm still at the whim of these slimy virus creators. Sorry to vent, but this has really caused me to question things. Do you guys think that Mac and/or Linux are really more secure?
Can someone please post a good example of a Parallel Processing.bat that runs comskip during recording? And what need to be done in PostProcessing.bat if anything?
