divico fusion dual digital 4 Working
Posted by: dave.t - 2011-10-19, 10:31 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Hi everyone
I was never able to get the divico card to work with NPVR but then I saw another thread where another user had a different divico card working so I thought I give it another go.
I installed Npvr and tried it and it did not work.
I then uninstalled the divico drivers and reinstalled with the newest version. I did not scan for channels through the divico software.
I then ran the NPVR software again, scanned for channels and it picked them all up!
I then installed directx and saf6
The picture is working but very jumpy.
Tried vrm9 and evr but still does not totally fix it.
I will keep trying though. This on windows xp on and old pc.

Have to restart services in the morning with HDHomerun Prime
Posted by: ottoguy - 2011-10-19, 09:36 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

This has happened a couple days now when I try to use the PVR first thing in the morning the app hangs and has to be killed. I have tried restarting the app on past mornings but with no luck. This morning I killed the app, stopped the services and restarted. It worked fine after that. I have attached the log files. It seems to have started after installing a HDHomerunPrime. not sure if this has anything to do with it or not? I also had an issue with recordings not stopping on time if the EPG was updated during the recording. They continue until the services are restarted. Let me know if you need any more info.

TV Guide color for current selection
Posted by: dvasco - 2011-10-19, 08:43 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

I would like to change the background color of a selected or highlighted show in TV Guide. It's a bright green and it drowns out the text so I would like change it to a white or slate backkground such as when a selection is highlighted in all other screens in NPVR. I imagine I would specify this is in guide.xml under Skins but I can't figure out which line it is or what the color name is.

Is card emulation as easy with gbpvr as with npvr?
Posted by: martint123 - 2011-10-19, 12:35 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Just as my new npvr box goes live, the damn PSU has blown up.
To keep the household happy I have resurected the gbpvr box but in the changeover I went from
STB>pvr150 to a satellite tuner and cccam running on my NAS and this worked a treat and was so simple to do on npvr.

The question is - is it the same or much more involved with gbpvr? I can't see much written and never got into the black art in gbpvr days.

nDroid on Android Market - can you see it?
Posted by: bgowland - 2011-10-19, 08:46 AM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (3)

This is just a request for feedback.

If you can see it DO NOT install it yet, just let me know - I need to update the nDroidService on the wiki to go with it but don't want to do that until I know the nDroid client is available to all on Android Market. Kind of a chicken and egg situation.

In short, you'll need to search on the Market app for "ndroid" (include the surrounding quotes as it reduces the number of hits). For me it appears 12 down in the list of search results.

Anyway, please let me know if it's appearing and I'll upload the corresponding nDroidService installer later today (it needs a few tweaks before I do it).

Cheers,
Brian

Recording to a network drive fails
Posted by: skippy_nz - 2011-10-19, 07:52 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (19)

I made some changes to my server so that it would record to a network share that i created on the same box - so instead of pointing to C:\Recordings it pointed to T:\ which was mapped to \\computername\c$\recordings

i thought that would be sweet but when i checked tonight some recordings tonight had all failed to start - looking at the recording service i found that it was running so i tried to restart but when i did that i got an error.

has anyone tried to set a network path as a location for recordings? I was wanting to do this so i could watch recordings on my clients - at present that doesnt work cause the database is saying the files are on c:\recordings etc.

cheers

DVB EPG updating, accesing settings and donating and Kudos
Posted by: treble - 2011-10-19, 04:34 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

Hi,

I'm a long time user of GBPVR and now NPVR. I waited a while before moving to NPVR. I find this program ticks all the boxes for usability, reliability and functionality. No one in my household could cope with a PC, TV app and a mouse so now I have a hauppage MCE remote and people can cope. Go figure. I am using a Nova-t Hauppage Dual Dig card, a 500 something or other. It's an OEM jobbie.

While a lot of work has gone into the background - creating NPVR, in the foreground it just works. Integrating some of the key plugins from GBPVR days was a great step IMO. The Web interface for instance. It's Excellent.

I never watch live TV. The new comskip config for Australian digital works fantastic for me.

So having greased the wheel, I've got a couple questions I'm hoping someone smarter than me can assist me with please.

1) I'd like to donate but I don't do CC's unfortunately. Any other option would be welcomed.

2) I am using the DVB EPG option and prior to 2.2.6 I didn't have any problems with the EPG being fully populated for all channels. I was unable to install the update to get me to 2.2.6 so I did an uninstall/install. My recordings database was still intact after this process incase thats important.

Only some of the channels are not updating. Usually it is Channel 10/One. Occasionally it might be one of the Channel 7 digital channels but not all of them. Every other channel updates.

To fix this I have been using Settings -> Channels -> Update EPG. This appears to be a full scan of all frequencies and can take some time. If I turn the PC off then those channels are empty again next time I turn the PC on. Is there any otherway of doing this? I have tried Update DVB EPG during live TV both on and off with no difference?

Perhaps it's just the particular TV networks causing this problem? I'd prefer not to mess around with skimmers and XMLTV things. KISS. Even a right click Update EPG like with GBPVR or a way to do a batch file would be preferred.

3) Is there a way to access settings without having to open the NPVR program? Sometimes I'd like to be able to right click the taskbar icon and jump into settings like in GBPVR days?

Thanks
Treb

PS: I think this app is just about right to license for settop boxes. I've been looking for a STB with recording to disk for a relative and guess what. They are all rubbish. Slow, don't work, fail to record, can't play back and or just crap out after about 12 months. I don't know how many years I've been running these two versions but it's been at least 4 years. Even the TV manu's can't get anything decent happening and in most cases they are just licencing the STB's I've been looking at and they are rubbish. I guess the catch is needing a windoze OS on board to run it.

PPS: My join date says 2006 so I guess that means about 5 years I've been using this app.

  Jump to a specific channel
Posted by: dvasco - 2011-10-19, 03:11 AM - Forum: TV Listings - Replies (3)

If I am on channel 4 in TV Listings but I want to go directly to channel 400 can I do that by entering the channel number and another key? Or is there another way other than going page down multiple times?
