Analog antenna and cable range updates for some countries
Posted by: fuchstractor - 2011-09-16, 10:05 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - No Replies

I recently had problems with getting NPVR to work with all my analog cable channels on freshly installed OS. (See post here) After days of experimenting, I found out that there's something wrong with channel/frequency ranges. Surprise, the issue is Windows-related, range (called tuning space) needed an override in the registry. (ArcSoft's TotalMedia 3.5 comes with these values.)

Other than mine, some other countries seem to be affected. If you have trouble finding all channels that should be there, you may want to try this.

Country list (identified by country codes):

Netherlands Cable
Belgium Cable
Finland Antenna
Portugal Cable
Bulgaria Cable
Hungary Cable
Estonia Antenna
Holy See (Vatican City) Antenna
Switzerland Cable
Czech Republic Cable
Austria Cable
Argentina Antenna & Cable
Brazil Antenna & Cable
Uruguay Cable
New Zealand Antenna
Norfolk Island Antenna & Cable
Russia Antenna & Cable
Japan Antenna & Cable
China Antenna & Cable
8601 (?) Antenna & Cable
United Arab Emirates Antenna & Cable
India Cable

The .reg file in the attachment includes all the overrides for these countries.

NEWA -> Stream = delete recording?
Posted by: ioan - 2011-09-16, 08:46 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (18)

I tried this with 3 different videos:
Went to Manage Recordings and pressed the Stream button for a recorded video. Nothing happens in NEWA, but then the video disappears from the list in the Manage Recordings. I looked in the folder where the videos are supposed to be, and thy are missing too.

One thing, I convert the videos to mp4 after recording is done, so the videos I have in the recording folder are .mp4.

Let me know if you want me to post any logs.

TIA

NextPVR not releasing tuners on HDHomerun Prime
Posted by: rglover - 2011-09-16, 07:28 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

I am using NextPVR successfully on Windows 7 x64. The only problem that I am having is that it is not releasing the tuners when it is finished (either watching live TV or when a recording is completed.) The light on the prime stays on and I can see network activity in Task Manager/Networking. I can make the tuner release by using the HDHomeRun QuickTV to watch a channel on the tuner and then exit QuickTV. Is there anything that can be done about this?

Yellow and Blue Keymappings for NPVR
Posted by: mikeh49 - 2011-09-16, 03:43 PM - Forum: Weather / Weather2 - Replies (1)

Hey scb, any chance you could change the yellow and blue icons to alt-Y and alt-B from ctrl-Y and ctrl-B to match the default setup of NPVR?

  Change some keyboard commands?
Posted by: mikeh49 - 2011-09-16, 03:37 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (11)

Any chance you could consider changing a couple of NPVR keyboard commands?

In the recordings menu, ctrl-S toggles the sort order, but ctrl-S is also Stop in the various players. My Harmony remote sends a Stop when powering off or switching activities which messes up the sort order in recording which, unfortunately, is where I normally leave off. I can't see where I can change this in the Harmony software. S certainly makes sense for Sort, maybe you could use O for order.

Could we perhaps go back to crtl-B and ctrl-Y for the Blue and Yellow keys? The weather plug in wants ctrl-B and ctrl-Y and the developer hasn't responded to requests to change it. What was the reason for changing from ctrl to alt for the color buttons?

Thanks.

  Advanced Configuration (config.xml)
Posted by: imilne - 2011-09-16, 01:40 PM - Forum: NPVR Documentation - Replies (6)

I've just tried to get this page reasonably back up to date with all the new options that have slipped in over the past few months.

http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...n.Advanced

There's still lots of entries with no description (either because I don't know what they do, or I don't know *for sure* what they do), so please help fill in the gaps if you can...

Clean way to sleep PC client
Posted by: Elmo Putney - 2011-09-16, 07:10 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

My other half is not quite as computer sympathetic as me, every morning she listens to web radio on our NPVR client when she's ready to go to work she just hits the power button on the client which puts it to sleep.
The problem is when it wakes up it plays music for about 3 seconds from where it left off in the morning either from the buffer of from what's left of the file in Temp then quite understandably craps itself.
What do other people do to either get a the box in a "tidy state" before sleep, or tidy up when woken, I guess one option is to use the wakeup.bat to kill NPVR then restart it?

Adding Season & Episode (ie, S01E03) to Recording File Name
Posted by: pwrmac7100 - 2011-09-16, 01:56 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (40)

I am hoping someone can tell if there is a way to have the recording file names include the season and episode numbers. Currently, all my recordings are stored as "The Office\The Office_20110512_20302100.mp4". In the end, I would like to have this file named "The Office\The Office S07.E10.China.mp4".

It seems like GuidePlus can do what I am looking for (plus some others) but only if I use xml info from schedules direct (which I don't, I download directly from schedules direct).

FYI - I am still using NPVR 2.0.3

Thank you in advance

How is list of available decoders populated?
Posted by: smiffypr - 2011-09-16, 01:46 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

NPVR 2.2.6 on Windows XP
I have just installed PowerDVD 11, and went to try it as the H264 video decoder in NPVR, but it doesn't appear in the drop-down menu for H264 decoders. PDVD10 is still there (as expected as it is still installed), listed as "CyberLink Video Decoder (PDVD10)".
If I understood how these decoders get onto that list, it might help me understand why PDVD11 isn't there, and how to get it in there.
