So Verizon finally came out and installed FIOS today. They replaced the comcast motorola boxes with Cisco boxes. The box they put in for my NPVR server is a Cisco 335HDC. I went to configure the ir blaster on my HVR-1600 and I don't see Cisco as an option. None of the settings seem to let me control the cisco STB from my HVR-1600 ir blaster.
I tried the learning option but no matter what I do it always says "Learnkey(1): Operation Failed"
Does anyone know the best way to get this configured?
Tuner softwares (I tried NPVR and WinTV 7) won't find all the programs the previous system had.

Scan result with the new system - BAD
Some of the channels found are located on different channels. You can observe that in the first case cable channel 11 has the same freq (119250000) as channel 38 in the second. It's like the tuner scans another channel set - odd!
I tried even a fresh install of Windows 7, same result: not working properly. When I restore the old system from the backup image, everything works fine again.
Has anyone found a way to âShutdownâ Vista with a MCE remote? Under XP it was possible to shutdown my NPVR client in my bedroom using my MCE remote which meant not having to get out of bed on a cold winter night! However I have recently started using Vista instead as it cured some of my problems, but can no longer use the remote to shut down. XP gave you the option to âShutdownâ, Hibernateâ or âSleepâ but under Vista the âShutdownâ option is missing. Hibernate would be an acceptable alternative but at wake up NPVR client dosnt work correctly. The EPG is correctly displayed but âLive TVâ does not work and âRecordingsâ are empty so NPVR has to be restarted.
It would be nice if you delete a file that it is simply sent to the recycle bin and not permanently deleted, just in case it was in error...
Secondly before deleting a folder, that a confirmation be required, or at least it check that the folder is actually empty.
I have lost some recordings because I renamed them (prior to getting the renaming script to work) and the database did not recognize they were in the show folder. Then I deleted an episode that the database thought was the only one, and the entire folder was deleted, including all other files in that folder. Then sadly I discovered they were not in my recycle bin...lost forever:eek:
So, won't be deleting via the app anymore, just in case.
Thanks for the application. I think I have most of what I want setup and am rolling forward as the fall season starts!
When I switch from the HTPC to the TV to watch TV using my Harmony remote, it sends a command (probably ctrl-S) that toggles the Sort function on the recordings screen before switching the TV input from the HDMI to the internal TV tuner. Perhaps trying to be helpful by stopping a playing video before switching inputs which is not a bad idea, but conflicts with the Sort key when playback is stopped and you're already at the recordings screen.
Anyone know how to change this? The Logitech configuration program for the Harmony remote seems worse now than it was 18 mos ago when I first configured the tuner, and, in fact, seems to have forgotten me, so I had to setup the remote from scratch. I can't see a way to get into the actual commands sent from the activity buttons.
BTW, this is configuring the Harmony for an MCE remote model 1039. I'm using the MCE remote receiver and the associated ehome interface.
Im getting black screen and no sound in NPVR when trying to view live TV with the HDPVR. Im on Windows 7 pro 64 bit, the HDPVR is working in TME.
So whenever I click live tv in NPVR the NPVR screen goes black and I get no audio, additionally the hdpvr passthrough to my tv stops working. If i open TME and try to access the HDPVR by recording a video (while NPVR is still open and on live tv), TME tells me the device is in use but the hdpvr tv passthrough starts working again and both audio and video start working in NPVR until I close live tv in NPVR.
In the log this line:
2011-09-14 06:11:22.662 [DEBUG][1] audio renderer now AC3
Is where I open up TME and NPVR starts working, I dont know what the line means just that that is the line that shows up when I open TME and the picture and sound start working in NPVR. I'm not really sure what to do to get this working smoothly, google search for that log line doesnt get me anywhere.
After installing the updates, my EPG no longer lets me use both tuners on my HVR1600 at the same time even though they are used discretely. If I record a QAM channel it won't let me record a STB channel, and the opposite is true as well.
Any ideas? I just get "no tuner available".
Strangely, I can watch the other tuner live, but not record it or program it to record.
Sub, is there are any way to remove the requirement to have a tuner plugin loaded on each client? I think some messages from the recording service go back to the client giving an object not set message
I received this via PM tonight which I think is client tuner plugin related

hi, just wonder if there is the hardware compatibility list for NPVR. I want that and see what hardware I may choose to buy to work with NPVR. could anyone help?
i'm setting up a new E350 mb with a colossus, and everything's going fine till i see when i pause, the video blanks, then comes on, then blanks again, over and over...it's not always the same length of black screen...
the audio keeps playing without a skip during all this too..
all i see in logs are weird Hiding OSD/Using Fake OSD
only happens on livetv, recordings are fine..
i have latest ver plus patches..
using evr with any codec [ms,cyberlink, arcsoft] same results..
win7 sp1
[i only paused livetv at the end,was checking a recording before that]
[EDIT]
N/Mind, it was silly me checking "use alternate OSD with missing video"
