Just installed 2.2.6 on server and client. Got the 'directx is not available' message on the server, reinstalled directx over the top of itself and tested OK.
The client is an old Lenovo A50 thinkstation with an Intel graphics card embedded. It runs GBPVR and NPVR fine and plays TS files fine. But NPVR has always shown this message about directx and runs at about 30% CPU all the time. If I open settings and leave NPVR in the background, it drops to almost 0% CPU. I have tried changing the UI resolution, reinstalling directx and reinstalling the graphics drivers (saw that worked for someone else), but no change.
I saw that this new version of NPVR was to have a fix for the high CPU problem where directx was not available but it doesn't seem to be working on this client.
So I don't keep starting 50 new threads, I will post the little things I find in this thread.
Tonight I have been watching live TV just to see stability. All was good for about 45 min. Then I tested pause/resume and it worked great. I left the room and came back and the sound was on, but the screen was black and the Encrypted Content note was on the screen. I escaped out and restarted and all was fine. It is a clear QAM channel so I am not sure why the encrypted note. Logs attached It was somewhere around the 20:45 mark
The Device Status screen from the NTray app lists the DCR-2650 tuners, but recordings which are happening on them are not listed. (And consequently, the tray icon doesn't turn red if recordings are only happening on DCR-2650 tuners.)
Hi.
My HTPC is set to output 50Hz (PAL here) instead of 60Hz. If i run NPVR, it stay at 50Hz, but if i run video in VMR9 FSE mode, screen change to 60Hz (return to 50Hz after stop).
So this 60Hz is hardcoded or it is possible to change it somehow to 50Hz by default?
When new recordings are completed whilst NPVR is running their status is not updated until NPVR is restarted on my system.
ie they don't move from Pending to Whats New and Ready. Also they cannot be played from the Pending screen whilst they are in progress. I think this used to work ok in the past? If I use the NPVR default recordings instead of Tv Listings plugin behaviour is as expected.
How does deleting recordings from networked PC clients work? Does it need to be able to resolve the file path? I ask because I recently noticed that my recording drive was quite full and it turns out that many of my recordings were not deleted from disk as expected when selecting delete in the NPVR interface on a client PC. It also seems that the response to the "Ok" in the delete message on the client PC is often delayed with no response for up to 10 seconds. This seems to be the case for only the first delete - the message closes quickly on subsequent deletes.
Decided to use the DCR-2650 last night for our regular recording and doing so, I ran into issues.
I attempted to record the following shows:
Time Channel Name
20:00 - 21:00 906 Minute to Win It
20:30 - 21:00 908 The Middle
21:00 - 22:00 906 America's Got Talent
21:00 - 21:31 908 Modern Family
21:31 - 22:02 908 Modern Family
So, with two tuners, one would tune to 906 to record "Minute To Win It" followed by "America's Got Talent" and the other tuner would tune to 908 to record "The Middle" and both episodes of "Modern Family". It almost worked.
Everything seems to have recorded except for the last episode of Modern Family. While the log shows it started on time, all the file has is the last 2 minutes of post-padding First episode is 2+ GB, the second episode is 83MB. No errors in the log.

I've had no problems installing a Hauppauge HVR-2250 with NPVR in a new system. I wanted to try my old ATI Theater 550 Pro as well because it gave me better analog picture quality on GBPVR on a WinXP machine than my hauppage card is with NPVR on my Win7. So I installed all the prerequisite software, installed WinTV7, and inserted the ATI card in the machine. The card was recognized by my machine and NPVR (ATI AVStream Analog Capture). This is where I run into problems.
I am able to scan for channels with my HVR-2250 (62 channels found for my analog cable) but with the 550 on scan it only scans 11 channels with none found. I can manually enter channels and get my epg to list the programs in the channel guide but when I go to watch them all I get is snow and static audio. I've set the channels up as both "tuner" and "fixed channel" and get the same results.
Can anyone offer any advice as to what I should do to get picture and sound with this card?
