  Crashing on Update EPG
Posted by: jsonnabend - 2011-07-09, 12:28 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I am running (setting up, really) the most recent version of nPVR on Win XP sp2. I am updating the EPG for two identically configured HDPVR's. nPVR is crashing on the "saving . . ." step. The EPG is populated, but I have to restart nPVR after the crash.

  Q about sub's youtube video
Posted by: ReggiePerrin - 2011-07-08, 10:03 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (6)

Hi

I was browsing the Sagetv forums, as you do, and came across sub's youtube video demo'ing a A100 with NPVR.

link

Sub was this video sped up in anyway, or does any other NMT user who spots this thread get a similar browsing speed? I ask as my setup is nowhere near this responsive.

If this is 'normal' then I'm definitely going to have to upgrade my server hardware

cheers

  Separate themes for thin clients
Posted by: steeb - 2011-07-08, 09:34 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (15)

Dear all,

keep forgetting this one but playing with Jaggy's most excellent BRVE theme last night reminded me Big Grin

Could we have a return of running a different theme for an MVP/NMT as we had with GB-PVR. And then because I always want more...... how brilliant would it be if each thin client could have an independant one? i.e. target a specific client by MAC address? and say use that theme?

just a wish..... Big Grin

cheers

Problems with DVB- and Teletext-subtitles in same recording
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2011-07-08, 08:13 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

I recorded "Rivers Of The World" yesterday. Today I tried to watch it and turned subtitles on. I was very surprised when I got romanian subtitles. In config.xml I have set prefered language to "nor" and second language to "dan". The programme contains teletext subtitles for nor, swe, fin, dut, dan, but NextPRV automatically picked the romanian dvb-subtitle.

I'm able to select nor subtitles using the mouse, however the subtitles are about 7-8 seconds ahead of the voice, and not all subtitles is shown. If I extract the subtitles using ProjectX and select .srt subtitles during playback, all subtitles are shown but they are still 7-8 sec ahead.

A 198 meg sample + .srt subtitles can be downloaded from ftp://orion.servebeer.com -> anonymous -> email address in folder "Rivers Of The World".

  USB-UIRT Setup
Posted by: jsonnabend - 2011-07-08, 06:59 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Hey everyone. I'm a SageTV refugee looking forward to switching to nPVR.

I have the server installed and my HDPVR devices working. Next up is configuring my USB-UIRT to control the cable boxes from nPVR. I know I saw information on that somewhere, but I can't find it now.

How do get the USB-UIRT to show up as a channel changing device? How do I configure the USB-UIRT for two zones?

TIA

  Video Overlay Graphics
Posted by: imilne - 2011-07-08, 03:06 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (16)

I'd like to draw some stuff on top of a playing video - kinda like the VolumeOSD plugin does. I've had a look at its source code, but I can't understand it

Does anybody have some hints on how to get started with a simple example?

Thanks

Iain

  New User Question On Shares
Posted by: Savage1701 - 2011-07-08, 02:49 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

I have used Sage and we all know about that little situation that arose a couple of weeks ago. I have several shares on it that hold TV shows. These play fine under NPVR as server or client on my other computers, but my problem is that, even though the shares have no passwords and allow deletions, NPVR can't "see" them unless I map them as network drives on my client machine.

I can only "browse" my network, and without going down that nasty road of the master browser, etc. (Which actually is my Sage server), suffice it to say that it is, of course, the only CPU that does not show up.

Is there a way to manually configure NPVR to accept a set of pathways, for examples, \\server\g, \\server\h, etc ? I can map \\server\g as a network drive and access and play the files, but I would rather not do that if I do not have to.

  No sound on HD recordings
Posted by: march - 2011-07-07, 10:07 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (29)

Hi everyone and this is my first post. Well done on the product " Brilliant" But i have one problem and that is i can record every channel, but only on the HD channels in the recordings there is no sound. I used windows media centre and it recorded HD channels and the sound worked. What could this be ? I'm running windows 7. using leadtek usb tuners ( 2 ). I can't see the problem being the tuners or windows. So i'm lost on this one

Unable to communicate with recording service - 2.1.4
Posted by: Greg Browne - 2011-07-07, 09:36 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Is the recording service (NRecord) required to be running now for 2.1.4 to work?

I only watch TV, and do no recording, so up to now (2.0.3) my NPVR Recording service has been disabled - one less process running in the background.

Now (2.1.4) it won't play unless I either start it manually, or set it to Automatic. Is this new design behavior?

It's worked perfectly up through 2.0.3 with the service disabled.

I checked Config.xml and can't find anything related to the recording service except the <UseRecordingService>false</UseRecordingService> setting in the <Recording> section.

Must I now start the recording service just to watch tv? Help?

AutoRemoveMissingRecordings=false not keeping recordings in 2.1.4
Posted by: pvruser - 2011-07-07, 08:30 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

I've moved recently to 2.1.4 and I noticed that AutoRemoveMissingRecordings set to false in Config.xml still removes recordings that are not physically present (on external drive which is powered off). This happens when going to the recordings menu. Is it possible to include a patch for this? it's cumbersome to have to re-import the recording list whenever the drive isn't accessible.

Thanks!
