  SMTP email service
Posted by: sub - 2011-06-24, 05:43 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (19)

Can anyone recommend a relatively cheap SMTP service provider? or possibly you run your own and are willing to share? Big Grin

The gbpvr.com web server has long had a problem with emails being rejected as spam from user's email providers. I'd like to get this resolved, because it makes it hard for users to register. It sounds like this is happening because my hosting provider has had a problem with some of their servers having been used for generating spam, causing the whole subnet to be blacklisted by some ISP...pity, because other than this I've been really happy with the hosting.

  Multi-recording digital channels
Posted by: chuck_2330 - 2011-06-24, 10:03 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

Not sure if I have the terminology right but I am trying to record more than one digital channel for each digital tuner card. I found a reference in the GB-PVR documentation and a couple of posts from johnsonx42 that seem to confirm my thoughts but I can't see how to do it in NPVR.

I have 3x digital terrestrial tuner cards in my system (Australian free to air exclusively) but I am finding that we are recording more than three programs at one time or that recordings overlap (and because stations do not start or finish on time we miss parts of the show).

How can I set up NPVR to record more than one channel per tuner card?

TIA

Greg

Default skin doesn't fit my TV with PCH
Posted by: bgowland - 2011-06-24, 12:17 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I used the Silver skin for a while and it fitted very nicely on my TV. As it isn't being developed further (and doesn't work with 'Find All' and 'Search'), I've switched to the default skin but it seems to be 'oversize'.

To clarify - on the Main Menu the date/time is cropped at the top and I lose the minutes from the righthand side - in the 'Recordings' screen, everything starts slightly 'off screen' etc. In other words, there's no margin around the the top/sides in various places.

I wasn't quite sure if I should post this as a PCH issue or here but, as I said, the Silver skin fits perfectly. I understood the basics of gbpvr skins but haven't a clue when it comes to npvr so I've no idea what to tweak to get things to fit properly.

Cheers,
Brian

  Recording scheduled, but missing
Posted by: smajor - 2011-06-23, 09:13 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

sub, if you have some time to check this, logs attached.

We currently have a single tuner.

My wife scheduled a recording 6/22 at 8pm on the main TV acting as a server.

I was watching LiveTV from 7pm onward on a computer configured as a client.

Rightly so, at about 7:58pm my client stopped LiveTV (the current tuner is no longer available).

My wife tried to watch the recording in progress on the server and it said no tuners are available, so she assumed it was because it was recording.

Today she went to watch the previous night's recording and it just isn't there. I also don't see an indication of it in the Recordings directory either.

NPVR has been working pretty well for recordings, but this, I think, is the first time a client viewing Live TV got bumped in favor of a recording starting, so I'm curious if there might be an issue there.

Thank you.

  nPVR issues on Win2k
Posted by: Bargonaut - 2011-06-23, 04:39 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I have a Windows 2000 system which runs gbPVR 1.4.7 just fine.
I decided to try nPVR, but have been having problems getting it working.
I currently have the v2.0.3 with the PatchR1 updates.

I think the main problem is that DirectX is not detected by nPVR.
The Settings dialog displays the warning that software rendering is active.
I have installed the latest version of DirectX 9 that is supported on Win2k.
I can not use the web installer linked from the wiki as it doesn't support win2k.
Here is the release I have installed: DirectX End-user Runtime (Feb 2010)
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/det...px?id=9033
This installs version 9.28.1886 of the runtime libs.

My logs are attached, but I didn't see the Java exception that appears
when I try to watch LiveTV. It seems to crash in DShow.
Also, when I try to watch a recording imported from gbPVR, I get video
but no audio, even though I have tried all of the audio Decoder options.

If Win2k is just too old for nPVR, I can understand, but I did see it listed as
supported, so I thought I'd try my luck.

thanks for any advice.
-Brad

Unable to view Live TV from server
Posted by: hakras - 2011-06-23, 03:32 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I finished setting up my server. It is 2008 Standard 32-bit with an HDHomeRun. Everything appears to be working except for I cannot view Live TV from the server. I've installed the k-lite codec pack. As a test, I recorded in NPVR and viewed the recording in Media Player successfully. I'm sure it's a setting, but am not sure which. Currently, I have the Redererer set to EVR and the MPEG2 decoder set to "ffdshow Video Decoder". I have already installed 2.0.3 Patches R1 as well. Any suggestions on what I need to do?

Two blasters, two tuners, two satellite receivers (STBs)
Posted by: dvasco - 2011-06-22, 08:25 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

In anticipating a move to NPVR I would like to know how I would blast two different satellite receivers individually. I researched a bit about blasting one device in NPVR but nothing about two.

Does the haupblast.exe have an option to point to which card I would blast from if I have both a PVR-150 and an HVR-1600? Or identify which port of the MCE blaster to blast from?

I see the HVR-2250 has two tuners and two blasters. Do the people with that card have the option to blast two different receivers or STBs (set top boxes) to tune to two different channels simultaneously?

FYI, I never got IRserver to work in GPPVR but I could give it another try now that I have read I would have to use version 1.4.2.3158. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...50-blaster but I would still like to see the alternatives.

I don't see anything about LM Remote Keymap identifying individual ports of the MCE blaster http://www.lmgestion.net/@en-us/4/22/60/...rticle.asp

  Set Default Record Quality
Posted by: pbb - 2011-06-22, 05:21 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (5)

I've scoured the wiki and the forums, and I can't find this. Where can I set the Default Record Quality (or find out what it currently is)?

  NEWA - Original Air Date
Posted by: pbb - 2011-06-22, 05:19 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (2)

The old EWA for GBPVR would display the original air date of a show. Is there a way to do that with NEWA, or would that be an enhancement request?
