We had Analogue switch off last night so most of the Mux have changed frequency overnight. I edited the transmitter ini file with the new frequencies, deleted all channels, did a rescan, updated EPG and all seems to be working except NO âPending Recordingsâ. I check the logs and there is an error every time it tries to create a pending recording after the EPG update. Going back earlier in the logs there are numerous comments that âFrequency has changed so stopping recording from previous frequencyâ.
I setup a new test recurring recording the same as a failed one and did a recordings export. The only difference is that the âChannelOIDâ has changed. I imported two recurring recordings where I had changed the âChannelOIDâ to the new one and these now appeared as pending recordings. I edited the recurringâbackup.xml and updated the âChannelOIDâ of each channel, deleted all current recurring recording, imported the file and there were all the pending recordings.
I have three USB tuners, and have been running NPVR for about 4 days now.
Every day I have turned on the PC and found the recording service crashed.
Today I caught it.
It appears to be trying to record the same show, twice, simultaneously, using one USB tuner. The recordings last for between 10 seconds and three minutes then the recordings stop happening. The Status window eventually becomes all white, and if a recording is in progress it might carry on indefinately... (I ended up with a 10GB "Simpsons" episode...)
Here's a screenshot...
Notice how the second tuner shows the same entry twice, yet it appears only once in the EPG. It might be worth pointing out that I used to use gb-pvr but had a similar problem because the ABC lists the same show three or four times overlapping on the EPG - see http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...highlight= - this is perhaps a related problem.
Attached is a 'dump' file that NPVR briefly mentioned as the service was dying.
Edit: I notice also that the channel 'numbers' are duplicated somewhat - is this normal?
Edit 2: I noticed under pending, Spicks and Specks was listed twice, so I removed it from recurring. I then added it once, and it appeared twice again under pending. I will try disabling one of the three USB tuners and try again
Edit 3 - Disabled one of the three tuners (the one with less channels since it has a weak RF section) and then removed, re-added Spicks and Specks.
I moved my video files to a 2nd internal hard drive. Since I did this the MVP will randomly crash when doing a Play-All on a directory. Npvr is installed on C:, and my Videos are on D:. It looks like in the logs that the rolling MVP file can't be found. I just had the error occur at about 11:15pm on 4/19/2011. The MVP log files all look like they are from yesterday the 18th? I have attached the logs which were zipped just a min or two after the error.
Any suggestions? Should I just move the files back?
i searched around and found that gbpvr has quality support( resolution bit rate). but i havent been able to find anything on NPVR.
if i want to record at 720x480 what would be a good bitrate(full quality).i have a 4;3 480i tv so i dont want to record in HD resolution, but still in 16:9 (i dont mind the black bars)
this project is great, originally had mythtv on ubuntu but i couldn't get svideo in the opensource drivers( i have a ati x1300) BUT this is way better of course :d
How do you configure the HDPVR to use the toslink digital connection for the recording the audio? As I recall with GBPVR, there was a AnalogHD.ini file that you could adjust which audio input you wanted to use. I don't see any such file with NPVR and the device setup dialog does not seem to give an option for which audio input to use.
Total newbie with NPVR. Installed it about two weeks ago when the software that came with my KWorld TV card started crashing constantly. After first installation of NPVR I scanned all my channels in. At that point I found I had neither picture or sound. Following the advice of this forum I downloaded and installed FFDSHOW. On selecting FFDSHOW codecs I then had picture and sound. RESULT! However, there was no option / button / method of recording anything.
I searched this forum and various other places and I found nothing on this particular problem, so I assumed I'd screwed up the install somehow, and I removed NPVR and did a re-install. Now I have sound, no picture (which I can't fix and I've tried EVERY codec in the options list), and still I can't find any way of making a recording.
I've tried starting the NPVR Service from the start menu shortcut and I get an error popup. I've attached a gif of the error pop up for full info. on what it says exactly.
What do I do to:
1: restore my picture, cos it must work, as it worked fine before!
2: make a recording, I'm assuming the NPVR service is the thing I need to get running?
Thanks in advance.

If you need any other info just ask :-)

I have, as per the title, extremely sluggish PCH Menu and then it won't play the file at all.
I'm not sure if this is related to the EWA plugin, but the only error I can see is in the web.log, for the file I was trying to play?
k.
