I have played with the config settings for MVP by entering my MAC. All that is working and I got the main screen the way I want it. But live TV on the MVP is about 80% of the screen same with the recordings. Those settings dont seem to have any impact.
So where else can I edit config files to get to the full 720x576 on a PAL tv which is 20 years old = olden day = not a LCD etc.
A recording of a program titled "What Would Happen If..?" fails, (can be watched live though), and the log shows:
Invalid file passed to StartParallelProcessing(): 'E\Freeview\what would happen if..\what would happen if.._20110421_18301855.ts'
I'm guessing that the ..? is causing the problem.
(In the TVGuide.xml file the title is shown with the "..?")

I am running Win 7, 64bit, latest processor, 4 gig ram, HVR1100 in analog mode.
When I watch live TV on the computer I get a good picture and audio (after choosing the right codecs... some make them sound like mickey mouse!
When I watch "Live TV" on the mvp/real tv I get 95% pixellation and broken audio - so bad I have no idea what it is I am seeing.
When I record and play back it is the same.
When I play .avi and old recordings from GBPVR it is all perfect on the TV.
I think I tried the mvpmc dongle correctly by renaming the default dongle to .old and then changing this dongle to dongle.bin or whatever. I did a reboot but I still see the same thing.
Where to next?

Hi there!
Anyone using 2 or more WinTV HVR1300 in Win 7 x86 or x64 and managed to get them to work?
I am using 2 x HVR1300. Previously in WinXP, I know we have to swap the ParentIdPrefix of both cards in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\PCI
to make them working.
But in Win7 x86 and x64, the ParentIdPrefix of both cards is in same location in CurrentControlSet, ControlSet001 and ControlSet002 but the tuners is not working at all. Live watching, dual analog recordings, etc all doesn't work!
I have reported this to Hauppauge many times for the past 1 year but they always said there is no plan for new drivers for HVR1300.
I don't wish to change tuners just because of drivers issue!
I'm going crazy! Anyone can help me?

I cant remember how the MVP works - it uses ffmeg to do the conversion on the fly but what about live tv? Is there a codec I have not installed on this new machine?
I have played with the "enable osd" and "high quality render" but I cant remember if they do much because they dont in this case.

I have during the last couple of weeks experienced failed recordings. Recordings that are recurring recordings and have worked previously.
One program that I record for my daughter is Mythbusters on Discovery Channel. That has failed quite a few times. And last night Top Gear failed to record.
It only gets a 0 byte recording file left. And in the logs it seems to lock the signal and reports OK.
Then I tried to scan for new channels to see if something was wrong. And it looked to work BUT at the end (at least it did not scan any more) it crashed with the error :

Since I installed NPVR 2.0.3 Patches R1, I have the following problem:
After starting NPVR, the first time I try to play a recorded show, I either have a blank screen or the file plays normally (some files never work, some files sometimes work and some files always work, but I didn't find any pattern yet). What is always the same is what comes next: If I try to play something after this (either the same show or another one), I get an error message: Unhandled exception has occured in a compononent in your application ... Attempted to read or write protected memory.
Some details:
- I have isolated NPVRTSReader.ax as the culprit; if I replace this file with the original from before the patch, no problems whatsoever.
- I convert all my recordings to H264 ts files - I use ffdshow to decode it in NPVR. As far as I can tell, the above error does not happen with regular mpeg ts files (I only tested it on a few though, so who knows).
- in the zip file, I have included the full error message
Not having access to such a device, I have no idea how they work...
I was thinking of doing something that would rewrite a skin file based on the user's actions. On a normal PC (or even a client PC) this shouldn't be a problem, because the skin will be in a writeable location.
But what happens with other clients (popcorn hours and wotnot)? Can they even *have* plugins installed? Or do they just run "core" NPVR?
