So, just installed npvr hoping it was going to work....
Big problem is no picture. Sound but no picture. I am in Estonia so the tv is mpeg4. I do have ffdshow installed and that shows under decoders. But the first problem I guess is that when I open the settings box I see in red Directx runtimes not available on this machine. But I have directx installed. Tried installing directx9 and the installer said I have more recent directx and then quit. So how to deal with this problem first please?
Many thanks
Anyboby else had problems with this tuner.
I have had one of these since christmas on my vista htpc - first I thought it was a poor signal (loft aerial) so invested in a 40 element log periodic aerial and new distribution amp + cabling. Disapointingly still appeared to be poor signal so bit the bullit and had aerial moved outside. The Installer was impressed with signal strength +30% of standard freeview aerials he uses in our nabourhood. He checked the signal at the pc and I am getting a 100% signal with zero dropped bits - so should be perfect - it is prity close to it on the old T700 PCI-e card.
I am still getting bad picture brake up - with arcsoft decoder npvr crashes - cyberlink pdvd 9 or 10 picture brakes up all the time.
In desperation I installed the pctv centre software and realised this also is happening on sd mpeg 2 as well as the T2 HD transmittions.
Anybody got any ideas?
I'm still running GB-PVR 1.4.7 (as I'm waiting for NextPVR to come out of beta) and went to go to the wiki earlier (http://www.gbpvr.com/pmwiki/) but it's not there anymore! Anyone know where it went? Google's last cache was on the 1st Feb 2011...
I don't believe it was ever implemented in v2 it would be really handy to have it in v3. Unless I have missed something the Guide to 1st display is the last one added and the only way to change the order is to delete and start again?
In the UK shows such as Mad Men have moved from the BBC to Sky Atlantic with all the associated adverts that ruin the playback of the programme.
I have a DVB S2 card on my PC and a subscription to Sky HD. Is it possible with additional hardware and software to record the Sky programs using NPVR so that the adverts can be removed.
GB-PVR had a great feature to catch up to live TV when timeshifting (i.e. after pausing and then resuming TV, you could use Ctrl-O to catch up to the live broadcast).
Occasionally I want to record something on PPV and therefore don't want or need npvr to change the channel for me. There would be no EPG data for this "channel" and after selecting it I just want it to start recording without changing the cable box channel. Is there a way to do this in npvr?
Also, how can I record from the front inputs of the HD-PVR? When recording from my cable box I use the component inputs but is there a way to add a channel or add a "second" device that will let me record from the HD-PVR's front composite inputs?
Every so often when I view the mini guide with live TV, the video will start stuttering like crazy in the background. Twice now it's locked up NPVR, fortunately I can still get the contextual menu to pop up and exit.
Attached are my logs. I'm up-to-date on all of the patches.
