sub - any idea on when you might push out the next release? I presumed last week that it was coming "soon", since you declared no more patches for 1.5.36...
I recently installed NPVR but decided to go back to GBPVR. Since then, I regularly get zero byte recordings. The program appears to record in the web interface (which I use exclusively). I have 3 Winfast DTV1000T cards and until I installed and uninstalled NPVR these have worked perfectly for quite some time. My wife will divorce me if I can't get her shows recording reliably again!
FWIW, I decided to revert to GBPVR as I found the playback of the TS files through the web interface to be very flaky. VLC would not show recording length and I could not scrub or jump to a particular time.
Help appreciated!!
EDIT
It looks like some channels are not getting a signal (not sure how I can tell??)
I'll retune the cards in the morning.
EDIT
Retune failed - it reacts as if there is no signal but I tested it OK with another tuner. I've bitten the bullet and reformatted the boot drive, installing Win7. We'll see how I go...
EDIT
I give up. I've gone back to NPVR but I can't play MPEG files. Woe!
If I do transcoding to just recorded file and delete original .ts file, this recording won't
appear to recordings list at all. File name remain same, only different file extension.
Should it do so?
Are lines from config.xml in use?
<AutoRemoveMissingRecordings>false</AutoRemoveMissingRecordings>
<CheckForRenamedRecordings>true</CheckForRenamedRecordings>
First line was "true" originally, but now with "false", it remove re-named recording, however.
I know NextPVR will work with a MCE Remote control but can anyone tell me if it will work on Windows XP Professional or is the required software missing?
As the title states I'm having problems with Nrecord. On startup the service appears to be started, but the NPVR tray app utility doesn't display any tuner devices (I have a Pinnacle Dual DVB-T tuner). Restarting the NPVR recording service fixes this, but how can I fix this so I don't have to restart the service?
I have attached 2 nrecord logs files. The nrecord.log.1 file shows the error and the nrecord.log file is the log after restarting the NPVR recording service; you can see it recording 2 TV shows.
My setup is Vista, 1.5.36 with all patches applied.
I don't know if any of you know of the web site called Grooveshark, it's actually a pretty good source of music with a web search engine. I've wanted to get this into NPVR for a while but since someone already has done it for the PS3 Media Streamer (PMS) and it works pretty well, I thought it would be welcome by a few in Universe. I did have to make a fix for PMS but after that smooth sailing.
sub...not sure why when I do a channel scan I am now only getting a few channels.....log attached. It appears in the log my missing channels are being detected....but just not showing up in the end results (i.e. channel 63 freq .1600, 1601, 1602, 1604 and 1606 are all valid).....yet 63.101 is what shows up as found.
I am sure I must be doing something stupid or have something set incorrectly.....
I've used GBPVR for a few years, but my system crashed a few weeks back and started the process of getting the box up-and-running with Win 7 Pro, a new hard drive, and NPVR. So far, I like the NPVR upgrade and think it's a fine piece of work! Comcast/Netfinity made their changes to digital here in my area around November 2010. I have a TV with a QAM tuner, and I am able to get many Comcast channels on that TV, including the "music" channels. I had initial troubles scanning for channels, and then went through the process of getting some of the Hauppauge software on the computer, which seemed to make the tuner card be able to tune digital channels. In NPVR, I can scan ATSC and get ATSC channels around 15-20, but when I scan for QAM channels I don't get anything. When I scan with WINTV 6, same results, some ATSC channels, but no QAM channels. I've tried several different drivers, but have not been able to install WINTV-7 because it says my disk is not the disk it wants. Called Hauppauge support and they no longer really support WINTV-6, and are recommending due to my current situation that I purchase the WINTV-7 disk. Thought I would check here to see if anyone else has had a similar issue and if it's necessary to purchase the WINTV-7 disk. I was thinking the money might be better spent on a HDHomerun or some other card that may have better support and actually send you the software you need when you purchase the tuner... Thanks!
