NextPVR web interface was working but now . . .
after a couple of seconds flashes                     "Starting Device.  Please Wait..."
after a couple of seconds flashes  again            "Starting Device.  Please Wait..."
then finally after a couple of seconds flashes  "Streaming Failed (transcoder exited)"

The device seems to work fine when I boot into Windows.

Basically says my recording directory doesn't exist and neither does /opt/nextpvr/system.
Both do exist.  I tried adding nextpvr user to privileges for the recording directory and that didn't help (but maybe I messed that up).

Hi - sorry for the opening comment but I am not a Linux expert...

I have been running Nextpvr on a Rpi4 for quite a while without issue.  Yesterday, I noticed a new version 6.xxx was available.  I was running 5.xxx (not sure exactly which one).   Now the nextpvr webpage is not available and it appears I have corrupted the server.  I've tried to reinstall, but after reading some of the forums, I think this was a potential issue that I was not aware of.

I am now stuck with a system that won't upgrade, won't install and can't be started.  I am hoping someone (Martin?) can help?  I am not an expert, so even the process of uploading logs is unknown to me.

When I run the status, this is what I get:

Installed NPVR on Ubuntu 22.04 recently as per these instructions recently. Everything was working fine.

Hi Guys,

New to Nextpvr. I have successfully set it up in linux mint (ver 20.3) running an xbox usb tuner.
The only hot key that works on the keyboard is the space bar which pauses live TV.
No other keys work. Some keys bring up native browser shortcuts, e.g bookmarks.
I have tried both chrome & firefox with the same results. Couldn't see anything in the settings menu.

After updating to v6.1.2.230502 yesterday, the PC now goes to away mode after a TV channel as been watched and will not sleep until the NPVR service has been restarted.

I have just re-run the installer with the service stopped (just in case) rebooted and cleared the logs,

I then watched BBCONE HD for about 5 minutes via Kodi Nexus nightly update from last Saturday, stopped and went back to the main menu for about a minute, then pressed the sleep button on the MCE remote.
PC screen went blank and did not go to sleep.
Pressed the sleep button again to come out of away mode and collected the logs. (So should be a nice clean set!)

The PC has been sleeping as expected up until 26 hours ago

Repro: from NextPVR.exe menu>recordings>escappe to menu>recordings
If I use any of the skins called Trad_Default[something] which I think are the standard skins included with the release, I get this error.
If I use "Default" skin, there is no error

I followed the instructions to add the repository and then add in the new NextPVR interface.   I then managed to find it (that's actually quite hard as it is not under any of the standard Kodi options, instead you have to drill though add-ins, my-add-ins, program-add-ins and there it is.  I opened that and configured it.  It all works if I hit the 'run' button which is the sixth step if you ever want to see live TV.  

BUT of course it is not available directly in Kodi.  I have to go through these six steps every time I want to use TV.  Is this the way it is intended? I cannot use the TV link in Kodi itself, it says no front-ends or back-ends are loaded.  If I used the old NextPVR add-in of course it then becomes the Kodi TV add-in and works straight away.  I do prefer the new interface and its guide so would like to use it, but not if it is this painful.

If I just use the new NextPVR interface it opens a brand new interface which does not support the mouse.  Arrow keys on my keyboard and my MCE remote work with it.  But there is no movies etc.  I can click on 'videos' but this just opens the file explorer.  I wanted the movie view in Kodi with the icons for each movie.

So is it 'just the new interface' with no easy access to it and no movies, music or pictures, just a file explorer view.  Or do I have to exit the new interface every time I want to use Kodi's nice features and then make the six steps to launch the new interface if I want TV?

I feel I am missing something here

I have loaded the latest 282.ini file from KingOfSat and checked that the correct DVB-S2 settings are present for the satellite  channels that are for BBC both SD and HD.  I run Windows MCE on this Windows computer and it successfully found all the BBC channels.  But NextPVR does not find any of them.  I can see the frequencies being scanned while I watch scanning occurring so I know it is using my updated 282.ini file (C:\Program Files\NextPVR\data\tuning\DVB-S)  In fact I suspect it is not finding any channels set up as S2, 8PSK, and is only finding channels coded as DVB-S, QPSK.

However this is not true for BBC as for example in line 7 of the ini file it says 7=10803,H,22000,56,DVB-S,QPSK which is an SD frequency for BBC and this is not seeing anything.

I run Windows 7 64 bit, and the NextPVR site says this should have installed in c:\Program Files (x86)  but that is not what happened, is this a problem?

NPVR Directories
NPVR has a program directory and a data directory. By default:
[PROGRAM] = "C:\Program Files\NPVR" (32-bit versions of Windows)
[PROGRAM] = "C:\Program Files(x86)\NPVR" (64-bit versions of Windows)

What do you think is going wrong?

I looked at the log file for the tuner. The tuning information for the S2 channel is IDENTICAL to the standard s channel
