Can anyone tell me if there is an effective strategy for updating only the satellite channels which have changed because of the broadcaster/satellite owner?
I ask because there seem to have been a lot of changes to the Astra 28.2 line-ups recently, especially the BBC channels, and the first notice of this is when channels just stop working/recorings fail.
I then select a tuner and do a new scan, which gives me a list of, say, 600 channels where I need to identify just the 50 that I want and then get everything back into the original order...
Is there any way of just updating any changes - only for the channels that I have previously used?
I assume that TVs and dedicated satellite boxes can do these updates automatically - otherwise disgruntled customers would constantly be taking them back to the shops!
I'm running NextPVR v6.1.1. I am trying to record to an SMB share on an Ubuntu machine. I have specified the path as UNC. How can I enter the necessary login credentials for this share? I've seen references to something called ShareHelper, but couldn't find a working link to it.
I'm running NextPVR on a Windows Server 2022 machine.
Is there any way to specify login credentials for the remote share? 6..22116.1.1.f221106 Ne
When I use the NextPVR Add-on client in Kodi on my NVidia shield, whatever I'm watching or listening to gets buffered on the Server's Hard-drive in a Live-TV buffer folder.
I was wondering if there was some way to disable this so that the stream of data goes directly from my HDHomerun receiver to Kodi (or just pass through the server without thrashing my HDD).
I've tried changing to the HDHomerun Kodi PVR-client which does go directly from Receiver to Kodi, but it doesn't separate the TV and Radio channels so there are no channels in Kodi's Radio menu.
I've installed NPVR Server v6.1.1.22106 on a Windows Server 2022 machine. I use a HDHomeRun Quattro for my tuner. NPVR has found the HDHomeRun and populated the channel list, but I can't get it to download an EPG. I'm unable to run the NPVR Client, as it crashes on startup (I've started a separate post regarding that).
Is there anything special that I need to do to get an EPG from HDHomeRun?
I've installed NextPVR (v6.1.1.221106) on a Windows Server 2022 machine. The server installed OK, but when I try to run the NextPVR Client I get the error below. Is the NPVR client incompatible with Windows Server 2022?

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
Occasionally the archive process causes a recording to disappear from the database and I have to use nexttool to recover the recording.
The recording file is moved along with the edl file to the network drive.
I don't see any errors in the log. The recordings are always moved. This one has an edl file where some I did successfully earlier don't (I may have reset the log since then).
Let me know if I can provide any further details or logs. I don't seem to have much issue reproducing it.
This is the relevant part of the first log:

Also, the attached screen shot is from my all recordings list. Episodes 1 & 2 show up under the series name with the colon in it. NextTool might be dropping the colon. I'll let Martin know if he doesn't see this.

On V4 during playback if Skip forward or backward was used, the skip was usually smooth and audio/video in sync.
On my new V6 build I'm seeing different behaviour (for which I'm getting verbal grief from the main system user[wife ])
When skip is pressed the playback jumps and audio starts but the video is out-of-sync for 2-5 seconds.
Sometimes when pressing skip, the playback freezes for 20-30 seconds then suddenly jumps to the correct point.
Obviously if playback hangs like this the user (not being technical) starts pressing buttons on the remote (thinking playback has been paused) and this leads to other issues.
I have the latest LAV (0.77.2) installed and selected for playback (which is pretty well the same as was in use on my old V4 system).
Are there any tweaks that I should make to the LAV config to improve this or is this likely to be a NVPVR issue?
I've had a look through the logs and can't see anything that looks odd around the Skip timings although I'll will get the wife to note the exact time when it happens again so I can extract the relevant section from the log if that will help.
Hi, I've just set up a new install of libreelec with NextPVR server and client on an intel NUC with two USB tuners. I am getting very intermittent behaviour with channel switching and recording. Errors seem to be either:
2023-04-26 14:31:00:168 [DEBUG] waiting for signal lock
2023-04-26 14:31:06:995 [DEBUG] status 00 | quality 00 | signal ffff7b30 | snr 7530 | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | pre_ber 00000000 | per 00000000 |
....repeated then
2023-04-26 14:31:07:021 [ERROR] Failed to start stream
(log attached)
Sometimes it will work fine other times after a few channel switches it gives up and fails to work. Sometimes one tuner works and not the other. Once it has managed to tune it seems to work ok though I can record one mux and watch another with no apparent signal problems visible.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated, would love to get this working.
