I had intended moving to Npvr and getting an egreat m34a as a Christmas present to myself, but as I mainly use gbpvr for music streaming, I cant quite work out whether this is a good idea or not.
Will Musiclibray3 (or a successor) be ported to Npvr ? Martin seemed to be unsure whether he was going to bother or not.
Without musiclibrary3 I cannot move to npvr so is there any real point in upgrading from my Mpv
I have an HD 1080p TV and a digital amp, would I see any significant improvement in visibility when most of the time its the screen saver showing photographs which is on the tv screen, upgrading from a scart connected MVP to an hdmi egreat box.
from my research an apple TV box looks like the best bet, just load the music into itunes, but I'm not clear how well it copes with photographs if I'm not using a mac system.
all the other boxes AC Ryan, Sumvision, Xstreamer, wdtv etc etc seem to geared to playing video rather than playing music, and the specialised music players such as squeezebox, teac, sonas etc are ludicrous prices.
So the big question is what is the state of music playing on npvr can I hit a couple of buttons and have continuous random music as I can with musiclibrary3 ?
Or should I just stick with XP gbpvr 1.4.7 and my Mvp and fade into the background
After a disk crash I reinstalled gbpvr 1.4.7, but this time on win7, as opposed to xp earlier. Now I fail to find the settings needed in order to have the smooth problem free viewing experience from the past.
One thing I notice in graphstudio is that the dvb-t (terratech 1200) is represented twice, which i do not recall from the previous installation. I have no clue if this has something to do with it, or not... see attached jpg.
gbpvr logs attached as well.
Any help appreciated, in order to reset the WAF to it's earlier highwater mark...
assume we have three channels: TV1, TV2, TV3
In the pictures, TV1 = ZDF, TV2 = 3sat, TV3 = arte. Error when I want to record the "Stilles Licht" program when other programs like "heute-journal" or "ZIB2" is/are recording.
1 - The first situation, we record at the same time TV1 and TV2, that's ok, no problem.
2 - The second one, we record at the same time TV1 and TV3, we have a message: "No tuner available for this recording" (also when we record TV2 and TV3, this message is also displayed)
3 - thirdly, we record only channel TV1, then choose TV3 to watch, we have this message: "Unable to find available capture device"
4 - Now, we also record only channel TV1, then go to Live-TV, open the channel TV2, that works. However, if we open the channel TV3, we have another message: "Requested channel not currently available"
Summary:
TV1 + TV2 = ok
TV1 + TV3 or TV2 + TV3 = problem.
what happens?
I have noticed that sometimes my NMT servers are not getting freed up. I have two NMT devices. One is a A100 and the other is an EGreat. I have the NPVR setup to have 2 NMT servers. After clean restart of the NPVR recording service, there seems to be 2 servers available. But after some use, it changes where I can only have one of my devices connected. I know this because one will get into a loop where it looks like it is trying to connect. Only after I stop the other device will it get connected.
I usually stop the A100 by putting it into standby. With EGreat, the power off button turns the device completely off, so that is how the device gets turned off. I think the problem is related to the use of the EGreat, but I am not sure.
Is this a known problem? I did not have this issue with GBPVR.
I have GB-PVR running on XP using an Hauppauge PVR-150 capture card, and I am thinking of upgrading to NPVR. What do I need to do for the upgrade to work? Does NPVR run on XP? Are there special steps I need to follow for the upgrade to work?
I'll probably go to the latest version of NPVR - if I can - I'm just hesitant because I don't want to lose the recordings (or the wife will have a lot to say about it!).
Trying the dual boot idea... was good then something went wrong not a huge biggy but I'd love it if someone could point out what happened...
I had GB-PVR 1.4.7 running well as a client (sometimes standalone for development) on my Windows 7 Laptop. UAC is set to default, and everytime I tried to open the GB-PVR config program, I was asked if it was alright to allow...
But The PVRX2.exe never asked me for admin access.... that was great because I could launch 1.4.7 with my remote from accorss the room.... great untill I installed NPVR
Now PVRX2 is asking for admin elevation
I'm not sure what NPVR did... I';m pretty sure it's not much... I have both of the services off, reboot, and then start the GB_PVR Recording service... still no dice... I'm not sure how NPVR changed GB-PVR... from what I read... it keeps to itself quite nicely...
I just installed NPVR and it seems there's no QAM support for my Kworld qam tuner. Too bad for me since I only use QAM. It's an older device, I believe the name is Kworld 340u. For what it's worth, it did work with GB PVR.
Is there any kind of custom configuration I can try, or is it just not supported at all? Thanks in advance for any help.
Oh yeah, I should include more information. Under 'device' it just says Type: ATSC, Device: BDA 2870 TVTuner, Present: Yes, Enabled: Yes, Channels: 0. When I highlight it and click Device Setup, it says "1" to the right of the device name, and then Type: ATSC, and Enabled is checked. I've heard that this "1" might stand for QAM, so that may or may not be good, but when I perform a scan with "all frequencies", it just comes up blank and nothing happens. It says scan completed and no channels have shown up or anything else. That's about it. Thanks in advance.
I'm loving having TV Listings working on NPVR but i can't get it to cancel a recurring recording in the TV Recording screen. Everytime i pull up a recurring and click cancel it still stays in the schedule and nothing happens. If i cancel the schedule through the TV Listing EPG then it works but it still appears in the recurring list until i exit and restart. If i cancel using the NPVR recording screen then everything works like it should and the entry is also removed from TV recordings.
I'm fairly new to nPVR (used GB-PVR very long but my installation began to glitch so I switched). I slowly get everything in working order.
But I still run into two problems (my apologies if they have been addressed before in this forum, but the Search function is not really that good)
1) How do I sort the main menu (including plug-ins)? The fixed order isn't that user-friendly
2) Since a few days (I don't recall it happening earlier, but it might be me), I have an extremely annoying issue with window size on starting up. When I launch nPVR it remembers it's position on-screen (for the left-top corner) but the size is set to full screen. (it sounds cryptic, but on startup I always get a full-screen size nPVR window of which the left-top corner is somewhere in the middle of my screen; with the bottom and right parts of the window being outside the desktop)
