Just had a very strange occurrence while using NPVR 1.5.33. I was taping a show and decided to check on the progress and so opened the ".ts" file in Media Player Classic Home Cinema. Everything looked good, I skipped around in the file watching bits and pieces of the video. Walked away for a while, came back, and decided to check some more bits from the show. Weirdly enough, at some point the channel had changed to a completely different channel and that channel was now being taped. I did not have another recording queued to go at the time, so it's a weird one. I cancelled the recording since it was now not what I wanted. I believe I have seen this happen in the past as well. Not sure what the trigger is. Posted the logs.

See Ninja Warrior and Shorty st on the 19th both using the same capture should, then weirdly, Balls of steel in on same channel as Ninja Warrior and yet uses a different source.
I have tried installing WinTV in order to be able to use the arcsoft H.264 video decoder, which works fine until I reboot, then WinTV claims one of my tuners for its own exclusive use.
How can I take the Arcsoft codecs which must be on the WinTV installation CD, and install them on my system (XP) on their own?
After some days of intensive testing (watching live tv, recording, playback recordings/movies etc. via lan) i experienced a few problems (using nPVR with all available hotfixes and original 1.5.33 tsreader.ax):
⢠Watching Live TV on a nPVR Client is bad and asynchronity follows
This is nothing new and well known by nPVR Client users.
⢠Watching .ts recordings via nPVR show a similary behaviour like watching live tv (sound and video get's asynchronous, not as bad like live tv, but annoying enough).
⢠Skipping while playback a .ts is desastrous. Sometimes it's working (then i have to wait up to 2 minutes till video playback the skipped part!) or nPVR just freezes.
⢠If i playback the same file within Windows Media Player, then nearly all is fine. Pointing to timecode ABC, video plays back fine after ABC. Pointing to XYZ, video plays back fine after XYZ. Zero seconds to wait, instantly skip!
⢠If i open a .ts file created by nPVR and use vlc for playback this video, then i'll get some points in this file, where i have distortion in the picture (the same distortion people get, if the receipt digital tv and have low quality); but the recorded shows are from analog(!) tv.
Something is not right, either with the generated .ts files, or with the ts reader/writer.
If you have any idea how i could supply you with more information for bugfixing, then just asks. The logfiles tells nothing special at the moment.
Btw., playing back videos from videolibrary works like a charme.
EDIT: As an idea... would it be wise to install the hauppauge! mux, which is installed on the nPVR server on the nPVR clients too? Could this change anything in playback .ts streams?
I just want to say thanks for Web Radio. I had some guys over to play poker last night, and Web Radio played a shoutcast classic rock station for over 6 hours perfectly. It seems a simple thing, but it's really nice when something Just Works.

p.s. the only downer in the whole thing was discovering that what now passes for "Classic Rock" is stuff that was new when I was a teenager. I'm getting old.
So, I re-imaged my drive to something cleaner and that image had things working fine. Now I'm getting the MKDIR: cannot create directory message. I know I've gotten this before and I know I've asked this before but can't seem to find the answer or my question via search.
It appears to be something minor but I can't put my finger on it. Other than start over, where should I be looking? By the way, where is the complete install for NPVR now?
GBPVR allowed you to set the "recording source" when configuring the capture card. I need to set to S-Video but can not see where to set this in the NPVR menus? When I run LiveTV, I get noise which suggests to me it is on composite or antanae.
(I did search these forums and assume it is somewhere but could not find)
So, when npvr (or whatever name it finished with) was first released, I put aside any plugin development until it and the API had matured a little.
Tonight, feeling motivated, I decided to give moving the pvrx2 plugin code across - and almost immediately hit a wall.
So, let's start with wall one. I would very much like to stick with the horizontal buttonstip style, since that is what is use through the rest of npvr, and, it provides additional horizontal space for the main pane.
However, I have a number of different buttons that may or may not need to be made available depending on what options the user has selected.
The button attributes (location, size) are all hardcoded in the skin file - and I've been able to find no means to use, for example, "@button1size". Which leaves me having to design for the widest button, which just looks silly.
Beyond rolling my own control from scratch, are there any recommendations in using the buttonstrip to do what I need it to do? That is, resize itself and its contents, based on the button text provided, using the skin-supplied font?
Since my beloved PVR150 card died I only have an encoderless analogue capturecard as a "last resort" recording device. However, it is almost useless since the encoding bitrate of soft-pvr is so low. Sub; can you make a fix to increase the bitrate for software encoding to something near DVD quality?
Hi is a "Search Guide" similar to the old GBPVR likely to be added to NPVR in the near future as I find it very usefull.
