A few channel changes freeze MVP
Posted by: zaldwaik - 2010-11-11, 03:30 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (13)

I was quite happy to switch to NPVR until this started happening. In short, several channel changes will freeze MVP during LiveTV. Some times the last change will be successful but PCH/MVP will no longer respond to any remote control commands while video continues to play, other times I get a blank screen. I reproduced this several times and I have attached the logs. It happens with my analog and digital tuners. Only a hard reset will fix the problem. The livetv buffer file continues to grow on the server.

BTW, the mvp.log file sometimes only has 2-3 lines and does not grow, even though MVP works.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

LNB Setup for multiswitch under NPVR
Posted by: kylebrophy - 2010-11-11, 01:31 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

Hi Everyone,

Ive been trying to get NPVR working with the Multiswitch i have (EMP Centauri 154) - and i think ive finally discovered why it doesnt work 100% - ive attached some schematic documents should anyone else want to look at comment.

The EMP Centauri i have has 8 satellite inputs - broken up into 4 groups of H & V inputs. Each of these groups is access via a diseq 1.0 command - which in this case is:

Diseq 1.0 Switch 1 (A) with 22 KHz OFF
Diseq 1.0 Switch 1 (A) with 22 Khz ON
Diseq 1.0 Switch 2 (B) with 22 KHz OFF
Diseq 1.0 Switch 2 (B) with 22 KHz ON

The problem ive found is that if i use Simple Diseq A/B as the option - i have dropdown boxes for 2 satellites (which is fine) - the problem is that it asks for LO1 , Switch and LO2.

As you can see from the listing above - there are 2 switches that use Parameter A and 2 that use Parameter B, and under the new method of setting up LNBs under NPVR - i can only put in 1 parameter for the A switch and 1 for the B switch (which leaves me unable to add the other 2 groups).

I have tried the diseq 1.x option - which gives me 4 dropdowns (A-D) - however since the multiswitch only uses A and B (in conjuction with the 22 khz switch) - im unable to access 2 of the groups.

Under GBPVR - i could set up a caputure source for each Satellite as such (multiple capture sources pointing to same capture card) - each source would then have the correct LO and switching commands. This has worked perfectly well for me for years.

Unless there is a workaround for me on how to add entries for the other 2 groups - then im unable to upgrade to NPVR. I have tried it with the 2 groups that it can access - and it works well ....

Is there anyway to put another option in the LNB setup to say "other" - which reverts to the GBPVR way of setting up satellites? or is there a way the database can be edited directly to put the parameters i need into it?

I really hope someone can assist with this as we love GBPVR and im really hoping that we can move onto NPVR soon (esp now that TV Listings is available for it Smile )

Thanks in Advance

Can we play .ogg music files with NextPVR on the NMT?? For me they just make the NMT reboot when I try.

Exact definition of "Record Season (All episodes on this channel)"
Posted by: peter_h - 2010-11-11, 12:24 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Does it mean:

Record every show on this channel with...
1) the same title
2) same title AND description
...?

And also, if 2) then does it detect duplicate programmes and only record one of them?
For instance, take TVNZ7's documentary series "World's Best" , where duplicate episodes may be on a number of times a day, or show at different times of the day for multiple days.

Ultimately, I'd like to be able, with one record setting, to record all "World's Best" shows, but never the same one twice, regardless of when it's on. Is this possible?

Thanks Smile

Any good renaming apps out there that can rename from an XMLTV file into SXXEXX fmt?
Posted by: acribb - 2010-11-11, 12:01 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

Any good renaming apps out there that can rename from an XMLTV file into SXXEXX format?

I saw this thread http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...ght=rename , but what I need is an app I can run from PostProcess.bat that can translate this field from the xmltv.xml file <episode-num system="dd_progid">EP00672318.0155</episode-num> into Season and Episode number.

I need this info in my filenames to feed into my Popcorn Hour boxes and (soon) Boxee Box.

IR Blaster doesn't change to channel missing show details
Posted by: Kid_Ego5150 - 2010-11-10, 11:48 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

This is kind of a strange question. My EPG is missing show details on a few channels in the TV guide yet show up when pressing the show info button while watching the channel. I have a recording set on one of those channels and the IR blaster seems to not know how to change to that channel on it's own in order to record the show and often picks a random channel to record for the allotted amount of time (usually the welcome to FiOS Channel which is really annoying). The IR blaster changes the channel fine when the show has details in the TV guide but not for those that don't. Has that happened to anyone else before? I've tried dumping my EPG and doing a clean install but that didn't fix it either. I've also stopped and restarted the IR too. I've checked Schedules Direct and everything seems to be ok on that end. I'm using a Hauppauge PVR150 running GB-PVR v1.4.7 on a FiOS HD QIP 7100 1 set top box with the standard Hauppage IR blaster. Logs are attached. Thanks.

  Bug: "Record Season" not working
Posted by: peter_h - 2010-11-10, 11:16 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

1) On the TVGuide, on TV1's "MasterChef Australia", I hit ENTER, and chose Record > "Record Season" and hit ENTER again.
2) I navigated to the next day or two and noticed that "MasterChef Australia" was on again, but it wasn't showing the red box, as I'd expected all episodes to have been marked for recording.
3) I went back to the original "MasterChef Australia", which was showing red, and hit ENTER. I chose Update, but the Recording Type box showed "Record Once", not the expected "Record Season". What's more, I couldn't use the right arrow key to cycle through any more options. It only allowed a "Record Once" option.

This is not the first time this has happened on various recordings.

  BitrateMode Settings in Config.xml
Posted by: longjohn119 - 2010-11-10, 11:16 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

What are my options under this setting, I want to experiment with trying to streamline the streaming to get it down to a sensible rate for SD. Judging from the 720p and 1080i settings my conclusion that it's using HD bandwidth to stream SD content seems to be verified because 9Mbs to 12 Mbs is what I'm seeing streaming SD content not the 3 Mbs to 5 Mbs I see when using file sharing to stream the same file or TV content from the live TV buffer.

Also am I correct in assuming this is a server side setting only and I don't need to change anything in my client?

  Channel re-ordering in TV Guide
Posted by: mattyb - 2010-11-10, 09:44 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

How do I re-order channels in TV Guide so that they appear in my preferred order?

To give some background... I have recently installed a DVB-S card to pull the OpenTV epg off satellite using EPG Collector. As such some of the channels are referenced differently and they've come in a different order to previously. I don't seem to be able to change the order in the Config->Capture Sources tab, or in the Channels tab - and to be frank I find these both confusing. As a side note can anyone tell me the functionality of the Channels tab?

Thanks in advance!

Can't cure the Error: 1904 problem
Posted by: rkircher - 2010-11-10, 06:10 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hello All,
When installing GB-PVR version 1.4.7 I get the Error: 1904 Module C:\Program Files\Devnz\DVBSubtitles.ax failed to register. HRESULT-2147010895. Contact your support personnel.

My tuner card hardware is Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 1600 and it works fine with the Hauppauge WinTV2000 software that is supplied with the hardware. Upgrading the Microsoft versions of software has not helped.

I have upgraded from Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 to 4.0 (current version).

I have upgraded from 2005 version to Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 - 9.0.21222 running vcredist_x86.exe from Microsoft (current version)

I have upgraded Microsoft Windows XP Media Center SR2 to SR3.

The computer is a 3GHz Sony Vaio and have no other error messages, so my configuration is believed to be fine.

I have reinstalled everything several times but always get the Error 1904 regardless of the version upgrade of Microsoft necessary components. I have Googled the problem extensively and seem to be doing everything right in accordance with help found on the Internet from this forum, but can't get thru the GB-PVR installation without getting the 1904 error. It is for all other components too: GBPVERWriter.ax, PsiParser.ax, WSTSRTDigital .ax, GBPVRTSReader.ax, Scflt.dat, GBPVRTSMon.ax.

I clicked IGNORE for each that is not registered, then get further errors for the .NET Framework and finally an Unhandled exception error occurred (error windows).

The GB-PVR software sounds like it is exactly what I want to use. Does anybody have any idea what the problem might be.

Thanks, rkircher
