  My bug list for 1.5.33
Posted by: _Iz- - 2010-11-09, 06:30 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Nothing too major but definitely affecting the WAF (especially since none of these things were a problem when I was still running 1.4.7)

Setting up a recurring recording through EWA using "This Time Slot" & "This Day Only" Fails (works fine through npvr's TV guide)
Recurring recordings setup for Sunday somehow end up as Monday instead (in both ewa and npvr)
When watching recordings, they don't always exit back to npvr when then end, sometimes they just freeze on the last frame until you hit stop
Recordings sometimes freeze at comskip cuts until you hit skip forward or stop
Cancelling a recording in progress crashes nrecord
Streaming a live show from ewa crashes nrecord when you stop the stream
Small skip forward doesn't always advance the recording on my PCH through mvpmcx2.

NPVR: Save a corresponding XML file with the recording
Posted by: peter_h - 2010-11-09, 03:41 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

I want to transcode the recordings of NPVR with an external conversion processor that I'm developing (to queue and distribute jobs to Handbrake nodes), and I'd like access to more info about the recording, such as channel, episode description, start of recording time (to the second), interlaced/progressive, size, etc.

It would be great if, like MediaPortal, if NPVR could have an option to save whatever recording info is available to a similarly-named XML file. This would allow me to incorporate more parameters to be used by the "rules" for my conversion/renaming/archiving processor.

Thanks

  Trying to Migrate to NPVR
Posted by: mrgtstr - 2010-11-09, 02:37 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (6)

Been using gbpvr for years now and have decided to migrate to npvr. For the most part it hasn't been too painful. I ran into two snags...getting npvr to recognize my Hauppauge PVR150 and finding a syntax error in the html file for starting npvr via my popcorn. Not sure if I found a bug, but I installed npvr using the nmtinstall2.exe and the html file that the nmtinstall2 provided had the first syntax below and changing it to the bottom one got npvr working on the popcorn.

nmtinstall2 syntax

Code:

Working for me syntax
Code:

Prior to getting npvr working on the popcorn I made sure all was well on the server as far as watching TV and using the TV guide. Unfortunately I can't watch TV through the popcorn. I can pull up the menu screen and thumb through the guide but no TV watching. I have attached my logs for some appreciated help. Thanks...

Problems with 2 eGreats (for HD and SD TVs)
Posted by: LewE - 2010-11-09, 12:22 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (4)

I had been running PVRX2 successfully with one eGreat outputting to an HD television. I now added a second eGreat via NMTInstall and it outputs to the second set (an SD NTSC TV) as if it were 16:9.

Is there a way to independently set up the two eGreats so both sets are driven at their respective aspect ratio and use appropriate skins on each? Did I miss something in the setup?

GBPVR Database question - Recording Schedule
Posted by: David B - 2010-11-08, 09:06 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

When and how does GBPVR update the recording database with future shows? The reason I am asking is if I go into the Recording Schedule and delete future schedule entries to resolve conflicts, will they be reconstructed automatically? If not, is there a way to trigger that event to occur?

Thanks,

  New DVB-S and/or DVB-T tuners - do they all allow Multi-Record?
Posted by: fray_bentos - 2010-11-08, 08:43 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (10)

My Hauppauge Nova-T 500 lost one of its tuners recently and so the media computer has been unused, I'm looking for a new tuner card (for the UK) to bring it back to life. I've only used DVB-T so far but am considering trying satellite (DVB-S). Or both.

Do all cards allow the multi-record I now find essential in GB-PVR/NPVR? (recording >1 program per tuner).
Is multi-record only available for DVB-T (terrestrial freeview?)

Any comments on the Compro E 750 (Scan.co.uk, £55) or the Blackgold BGT3595 (Blackgold, £110)?
Thanks.

New M34A on eixting GBPVR 1.4.7: GBPVR via NetworkBrowser: "Request cannot be proc"
Posted by: lucille84 - 2010-11-08, 04:35 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (3)

First thanks to Martin who's work put me onto the M34A as a potential replacement for my MVP.
Bought and installed M34A as straight NMT (via usb wireless) and Shazam! it worked right out of the box. Now can view HD (from Torrent Episode Downloader) and previously ripped DVD's - v.happy with the M34A, thanks Martin.

Now... following the guide at http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...2&p=337156 I have attempted installation of mvpmcx2.

[[ big snip]]

--------------------------------
EDIT - now that I am humbled by the fact that mvpmc2 was in fact working as advertised I will delete the content that so clearly demonstrates my limited brain power.

Using the direct share approach I only had to select the GB=PVR (first) link on the HTML page - as opposed to the second link (via Web Browser
--------------------------------

Now, besides the gain of HD --- I now have the Live TV that I had hoped for. Thanks Martin!

And that means total, unfailing success when using anything Martin touches!

Thanks again for letting me play here anyway,
TomH /for Lucille

How do I cancel a recording?
Posted by: peter_h - 2010-11-08, 10:21 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

In the Guide, I clicked the quick record button to set a program to record. Problem was, I noticed that I already had both tuners set to record at the same time, so I needed to cancel it. I couldn't.

1) I tried pressing the Record button again, to toggle the recording (An assumption that it might work like that. If it doesn't, it should, I reckon).
2) Hit enter and tried Update. I could not use any of the arrow keys to change the record options.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?

A bug in XMLTV file mappings?
Posted by: zaldwaik - 2010-11-08, 01:47 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

I am now fully converted to NPVR but I have run into a strange issue. I have one analog tuner and one ATSC tuner. Both use XMLTV listings. However, when mapping the channels, I am having a tough time keeping the mapping intact. I have done each channel at least 3 times, but whenever I come back, it is reset to something else.

Not predictable, an ATSC channel will reset to the analog channel XML file location and vice versa. It is driving me crazy.

  Forum time
Posted by: mvallevand - 2010-11-08, 01:16 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

The time on the forum has been creeping up over the last little while and I was waiting until the time change this weekend to see if it would get correct. It didn't in fact it looks like the the server didn't fall backward either. It is 20:01 here and the server is showing 21:15. I do have the vbulletin setting to change with DST.
