Mygica U6012 HDTV Stick Using Standard Definition
Posted by: ToughRowToHoe - 2010-11-10, 05:10 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (28)

I understand that there is some support for software tuners in NPVR but am not sure how to set it up correctly? I'm using a Vista machine that is currently running a Hauppauge 150 and I have WinTV 7 installed so I assume that the necessary SoftPVR .ax files are registered. Do I run filtercheck and add the name to the direct.ini per the GBPVR documentation? NPVR already has the HD filters in the BDA.ini. It works fine on QAM. Thanks.

  Problems with XmltvExtras
Posted by: pcostanza - 2010-11-10, 12:53 AM - Forum: TV Listings - Replies (21)

I've tried running XmltvExtras on 3 systems. It works fine on 1 but the other 2 give me the message, "XmltvExtrsas.exe is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file".
Not really sure what this means. Almost sounds like it's been neutered by a virus program.

Any idea what this means?

  Weather V1.0.1.0 Notes
Posted by: scb147 - 2010-11-09, 06:50 PM - Forum: Weather / Weather2 - Replies (1)

Weather V1.0.1.0 for NPVR has been released.

It is required that you delete the "config" directory under the Weather plugin directory. The configuration file has been updated, and old version will not work with the new version.

Some highlights are:
- Custom units
- Play/Pause on animated images

Please see the wiki page for more information.

  Conflicts showing up in future
Posted by: David B - 2010-11-09, 06:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Currently set up recording 4 satellite signals on 2 WinTV 2250 cards (dual analog).

Recording works fine as does live TV. However starting 3 or 4 days out, every scheduled recording for one specific source (SAT4) shows conflicts.

I went into the database and deleted the conflicts. Restarted the application and it repopulated with the same conflicts, all on SAT4.

I cannot see what is causing this as (according to my reading of it) there doesn't seem to be any channel or source conflict in the database. Also the fact that it's working fine now and the conflicts only apper in the future is troublesome.

Any suggestions?

Config and database files attache:confused:d.

One more bit of information. All 4 sources are using external tuners and so the EPG sources are all set to 'none'. Not sure how this impacts the future scheduling and EPG updates (if any).

Thank you.

  Help
Posted by: samcav - 2010-11-09, 05:12 PM - Forum: TV Listings - Replies (6)

Is there a way to auto-scroll the listings downward?

Also, the left/right time-based scrolling isn't working for the actual listings, just the time bar at the top. I don't know why.

Thanks in advance. Smile

GB-PVR screen shifted up and to left
Posted by: lucille84 - 2010-11-09, 02:54 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (6)

Thanks to Martin's brillaint mvpmcx2 I was able to get my eGreat M34A working with GB-PVR just sweet as all get out.

I then moved the M34A to another slightly larger TV (from a 19" to 22") and changed from Wifi to Wired in eGreat Network config...

Now the GB-PVR screen is shifted off center ( up and to left ) on the TV screen

Any advice/tips on discovering the source of the problem and fixing it?

Thanks,
TomH for Lucille

I've just uploaded the first NPVR-compatible version of the TVListings plugin at the wiki. There's also a new Version of the XmltvExtras utility.

Odd Behavior (Not really a bug)
Posted by: longjohn119 - 2010-11-09, 12:52 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

On my client machine is a Dell laptop with a 2 Ghz P4 mobile processor 512Mb RAM and a 7500 series ATI video card with 32 Mb dedicated video RAM (I believe it also can share main RAM too) Not exactly a powerhouse especially compared to my tri-core server with a ATI 4830 vid card.

Anyways I noticed what I cansider to be strange behavior although not necessarily a bad thing, but I;m getting the best performance using the EVR renderer over the VRM9 or VRM7 which is the opposite of what I'd except on my laptop client. CPU usage using a .TS SDTV stream is about the same for all 3 when just watching a movie but with the VRM7 or 9 I get stuttering when the transparent overlays drop down while with the EVR renderer it barely increases the CPU usage in the same scenario. I was expecting to see the exact opposite behavior and figured the VRM7 renderer would give this laptop the best performance since it's really a DX7 card and doesn't support all the DX9 functions. (It does seem to support hardware acceleration under DX9 though)

I just thought I was kind of weird but I think people should give the EVR renderer a shot even with an older less powerful box. You may find it performs best overall with only a slight (looks like less than 5%) increase in CPU usage during playback but a lot better handling of overlays.

Anyone interested in developing a Skin Plugin?
Posted by: Hairy - 2010-11-09, 09:26 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (13)

Title says it all really. If anyone is interested in developing a skin plugin for NPVR, I'd be interested in handling the skin part Smile.

If there are any takers, fire off an e-mail to me: thm_gb@yahoo.co.uk and I can pass along what I've been working on with my skin.

Cheers.
