  Missing Crossbar Files?
Posted by: David B - 2010-11-01, 04:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

System - Windows 7, i5 processor, 4 GB RAM
Running GB-PVR 1.4.7

Have a PVR 150 card installed and working (finally - after removing all Hauppauge components and reinstalling everything!)
Added in an HVR1600 card.
Both cards configured to capture analog satellite signals from off-board tuners, i.e. both set for Channel 3.
The PVR 150 card still works fine for Live TV and Recording, but the HVR 1600 card does not.
In Live TV it simply is not recognized. The log files (attached) indicate system couldn't find the WinTV 418 Crossbar. The drivers for this card have been updated to the latest from the Hauppauge web site.
Help please! Sad

Problems after installing new capture card
Posted by: mikeh49 - 2010-11-01, 04:05 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I replaced my PVR150 with an ATI 650 Pro PCI, which has both analog and digital tuners (but can't be used simultaneously) to add to the existing Avermedia Duet dual digital tuner. I didn't do anything with the pending recordings prior to changing out the PVR150 (there was one recording scheduled for the PVR150). The setup of the 650 was uneventful and both tuners worked when tested with live TV. Now, however, scheduled recordings don't happen; the HTPC does not even come out of hibernation. The recordings show as pending but they never happen. I tried some "immediate" recordings from the TV guide, and they get scheduled, but again don't happen.

I took a quick look at the database and the programs are scheduled, and seem to be assigned to the correct capture device. I deleted the ones past due using an SQL tool.

So, what did I miss in preparing for this changeout? Should I have canceled all pending recordings before changing any capture sources? Exported completed recordings and started over with all capture sources? I checked the Virtual Store for an extra copy of the database, and there isn't one.

Last winter, pBS posted about this card saying that an ini or something needed to be edited to let GBPVR know that the analog and digital tuners cannot be used simultaneously. I can't find the post, so maybe someone can repeat.

Update: Checked my test box where this card was previously installed and I see the card has the same name in bda.ini and direct.ini, I think this is what pBS was referring to. I'll make this change in the HTPC where the card is now. Not sure this will affect the database issue, however.

Thanks for any insight.

Incredible -> 2-way DVB-C tuner solution from Digital Devices in Germany
Posted by: daneo - 2010-11-01, 09:58 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (6)

You might want to hold off your xmas shopping (or invest in a SAN, take your pick) as getting lots of HD content into storage just got a lot easier...

Their system is based on a multi-port low-profile PCIe bridge, with optional modules including

  • Dual mixed-mode DVB-T / DVB-C
  • Dual DVB-S
  • CI with 4-channel MTD

Their website is mostly in German, but I hope they will speed up the translations. They intend to ship the DVB-C version in mid-November.

The bridge adapter is currently available in 2-device version, however a 4-device version (four daughter cards) is underway.

Digital Devices Shop

Now we just need Sub to bolt it on.

Hauppauge Remote Control issues with MVP and nPVR
Posted by: TheShadow - 2010-11-01, 04:07 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (3)

I just installed 1.5.33 and set up my MVP with the new MVPMC dongle. Everything seems to be working fine except for the remote control. It seems that all of the skip keys (fwd, rev, pause) will only skip backwards.

Where are the keys defined, and how do I go about changing them.

Thanks

  No channels found
Posted by: luke.rainey - 2010-11-01, 12:09 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Hi. Can someone tell me if the Peak Hardware DVB-T 221544AGBK Dual Tuner card is supported in NPVR ? I think I've followed all the instructions for installing NPVR but I don't get any channels when I do a scan. The driver for the card is installed and it shows up in the NPVR settings/devices window. I am running Windows XP and have updated everything. Many thanks.

  AC3Filter and MPEG Audio
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2010-10-31, 08:52 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

From what I understand of AC3Filters settings, it should be possible to use it for decoding MPEG audio, but it does not show up as an option under Settings -> Decoders -> MPEG1 Audio. Or am I misunderstanding completely?

  Recommendation needed: DVB-C (High Definition)
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2010-10-31, 07:54 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (15)

Hello com Smile

I need a recommendation. First to say, since i tried in the year 2005 DVB-C i was NOT a fan of DVB-C. But last week, i was visiting a friend, i could see that DVB-C seems now working fairly good.

So i would need a good recommendation for a reliable (and nPVR supported) DVB-C card, which is HD capable for germany (to be more precise: the provider is Kabel Deutschland, where i will use an offer from Sky).

I am not sure, but i think USB Cards are not those, i should choose for this task. Or is my suspection wrong? Help me please. Smile

  Recording starting over
Posted by: dspdrew - 2010-10-31, 07:05 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Not sure exactly what's happening here, but 2 times now, while I was near the end of a recording I was watching, the recording seemed to have started over. I wasn't paying close attention to it, but noticed that I had already seen what I was watching. I then fast forwarded it, and noticed the timeline was way up at the beginning. Has anybody else ever experienced this?

  streaming AAC SBR not possible?
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2010-10-31, 05:20 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (9)

Hey UJB Smile

Now, that vlc is at least running again, i tried to stream different movies. All movies, or episodes of series, which were transcoded to aac sbr audio, will streamed without audio if i do so from NEWA. Alle movies with AC3 Audiotrack are no problem, they're running fine. Smile

I choosed in the NEWA transcode options different audiocodecs, but no success: MP4, MP3 and lower... none codec will be used for the AAC SBR streams.

If i startup vlc manual and wanna stream a movie with AAC SBR audio, then there is no problem: audio will be transcoded fine.

Could we try to add an option into NEWA? Stream "audio track" as is, without transcoding? This one works good from vlc.exe itself and is not to much for the aac sbr codec.
