  Potential recording name conflict ???
Posted by: martint123 - 2010-11-04, 07:00 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I guess this could apply to both gbpvr and npvr ??

With the introduction today of simultaneous SD and HD broadcasts of BBC 1 in the UK I was going to record a show in both SD and HD so that we can view the HD version at the weekend and keep the SD version in the archives (with its reduced size).

Then it struck me that the show name and start/stop date/time would be identical - could this be a potential problem with disc filenames????

  No Clear QAM Tuner Found
Posted by: longjohn119 - 2010-11-04, 02:45 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (13)

Pinnacle 801e AKA PCTV HD Pro Stick

PCTV DiB BDA Digital Tuner (Dev1 Path1) which should be my ATSC QAM tuner is showing up instead as a DVB-C device

I have this tuner working in GBPVR but the streaming performance isn't very good. For instance I can stream a SDTV .ts file, a ripped DVD or a DivX file across the network using MPC and the performance is flawless but when I try to do the same through GBPVR the .ts and DVD files are glitchy/jittery and the DivX files are out of sync. I can't get TV to render at all even though I can see something is streaming across the network.

I was hoping NPVR would take care of some of these problems but it's a no go if I can't get the QAM tuner running. I can use Beyond TV if all I wanted was to stream analog cable but it doesn't support QAM for my tuner and there interests as a company are elsewhere so I doubt it ever will be supported. I have it working in Vista Media Center with the TV Pack 2008 but as everyone knows Microsoft purposely crippled streaming live TV for some dumb (readBig GrinRM) reason. I also had this tuner working in Media Portal but it wants DX9 enabled GPU and the little ATI 7500 64Mb in my laptop client PC just couldn't handle the interface.

Al I want to do is record a few shows and stream clear QAM SDTV to my laptop so I can watch TV in my workshop or out in the garage like I used to do with Beyond TV and analog cable. I figured if Microsoft could get this tuner to work 2 years ago everyone else would be up to speed by now .....

Is the popup message that disappears after a few seconds available for plugins to use? All I can find is the SimplePopup class.

Attempts to play .dvd files in Video Library results in PVRX2 not responding
Posted by: Jwbrit - 2010-11-04, 11:47 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi Folks, I have ripped a few DVDs to my HDD using DVDFab. They are visable from Video Library as .dvd files. When I select the files the screen goes black and stays that way. After a few minutes I Ctrl-Alt-Delete and start task manager and PVRX2 is shown as not responding. The files are shown under Explorer as a main folder with AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS subfolders. I'm sure the files are good as I can convert them to MP4 and play them using Windows Media Player, I'm equally sure I've had them playing as .TS files from GBPVR. I've tried swapping decoders around but I think the "PVRX2 not responding" indicates another issue? I have other .TS files in my Video Library directory that have been recorded using GBPVR and they work fine, they show up in Explorer as a thumbnail though, I'm not sure if that is important or not. Hopefully, I have managed to firstly, edit my signature to show the hardware and software that I am using and secondly, to attached my logs correctly..... fingers crossed. Thanks very much for your time.

LiveTV.xml OSD + Remove LetterBox Problem
Posted by: dspdrew - 2010-11-04, 05:21 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

For some reason when I put the screen in "Remove LetterBox" aspect ratio, the Live TV OSD shrinks horizontally. It almost looks as if the OSD is going into "PillarBox" aspect ratio while the Picture is going into "Remove LetterBox" aspect ratio. It looks like this is the same no matter what skin I use.

nPVR crashed while scanning DVB-C EPG
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2010-11-03, 10:42 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

Hi sub!

Just playing around with the new Technisat CableStar HD 2. Setup and configuration went fine so far, i can view SD and HD channels (unencrypted) without any problems.

I just did a new channelsearch and ran epg update. A few frequencies was scanned without any problems, then just *plop* a message windows appears "nPVR just crashed..."

Ok, here are the logs and the crashdumpfile. This is the first dvb related crash on this system.

  -direct "Live TV"
Posted by: imilne - 2010-11-03, 07:47 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

A nice simple wish this one, and hopefully it's on your todo list anyway. Can we have the equivalent of GBPVR's -direct "Live TV" command line option added in a future build?

Thanks

  Streaming Live TV to PS3?
Posted by: rupert - 2010-11-03, 12:08 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

Hi

I have only just discovered this software and forum, but it looks like just the thing I need.

I presume that given a suitable server with TV tuner cards in I can get that to schedule and record TV for later playback via DLNA to a PS3?

Is it also possible to stream live TV over a network for viewing on a PS3 (or network attached TV) and pause, etc?

Sorry if this has already been asked, but I did a search of the forums and couldn't find any mention.

Thanks in advance
Rupert

  NPVR Homepage
Posted by: steeb - 2010-11-03, 02:44 AM - Forum: NPVR Documentation - Replies (102)

Dear all,

as discussed from old thread here:

http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...post393421

I am looking to give the homepage for NPVR documentation everything good it deserves.

http://www.gbpvr.com/nwiki/

At this point in time I really need to know if anyone has Horizontal scrolling issues with the way it displays. It should NOT have to scroll horizontally. If it does please let me know.

I would need to know

a) the browser and version you are displaying on
b) the screen resolution of your display

Cheers

Steeb
