Freazing up trying to watch live TV or access System plugin
Posted by: dspdrew - 2010-11-03, 02:22 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

I dont know why, but sometimes my NPVR freezes up everytime I try to watch live TV or open the System page from the system plugin. I attached my logs.

Edit: it also happens after accessing the settings box. There doesn't seem to be any way to fix it other than rebooting. I also noticed now that the "Whats New" recordings screen was not updated, but after rebooting it updated and shows that all my recordings for the last day failed with "Recording service not running at recording time".

  Mount mounting???
Posted by: soccerdad - 2010-11-03, 12:14 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (17)

I have just tried to get my pch going again. I am on Npvr with the latest release. I used the NMTInstall2. Install went fine (I think). Everything is in the default locations. (Vista). From the NMT it gives me the Press to launch GBPVR screen. When I press it I get a white screen with "mount mounting \\192.168.1.1" and it dies there. It totally locks up and I have to pull the power to get it going. I searched the survival guides and forum, but could not find the answer. I am sure it is something dumb I did, but HELP! (Please)

Actual size of inner element in NPVR
Posted by: scb147 - 2010-11-02, 06:13 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (2)

If I have the following in my skin.xml file:

Code:
<Element name="AlertTextBoxNormal" location="01,01" size="98,98" alpha="175"> <Text text="@text" location="00,00" size="50,50" font="ForecastDetails" align="Left" valign="Top" /> </Element>

How do I get the actual rectangle element for the "@text" element? Using:
Code:
skinHelper.GetActualElementRectangle("AlertTextBoxNormal")
I can get that element, but I'm not sure how to get the inner element size.

Thanks.

Can I record two channels with a Hauppauge HVR-3000 DVB-T (FreeView UK)?
Posted by: philcooling - 2010-11-02, 06:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I've got a Hauppauge HVR-3000 DVB-T which is listed as a "Dual DVB" card in the Wiki. Does this mean I can record two FreeView channels simultaneously, say BBC1 and Channel 4? If so, how do I set this up? At present I can record one channel OK but when I try to record another program it chokes and says there's a conflict.

I've trawled the forums but haven't found a suitable answer (or I've just missed it). A simple walkthrough of the steps required would be most useful!

FYI I'm running GB-PVR 1.4.7 on Windows XP

  HVR1600 recording issue
Posted by: David B - 2010-11-02, 01:53 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Yesterday I had the system working well. 3 cards (HVR1600, HVR 2250 dual, and PVR 150) all recording and saving on a total of 4 satellite feeds.

Today, with no changes made other than a change in the destination folder for saving, all work except the 1600.

The log seems to indicate an issue with the WinTV 418 Encoder, but I don't understand what could be happening or how to fix it so it doesn't happen again.

Any ideas out there?

Log files (including filter check) attached.

Thanks,

  add time adjustment
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2010-11-02, 12:32 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (4)

Many of my shows record with the first 5-10 seconds cut off, and catch the first few seconds of the following show at the end of the recording. My HTPC's time is perfect down to the second, which means some of the broadcasters' clocks are a bit ahead or they're doing it on purpose for some reason. Either way, it's irritating. Pre-Padding is absolutely NOT a valid solution for this problem; padding doesn't work a great deal of the time, and I don't need a full minute anyway, just a few seconds.

I'd like to just have NVPR 'pretend' that the current time is actually 10 seconds later than it actually is. That way all recordings would start 10 seconds earlier, and end 10 seconds earlier.

Would it be terribly difficult to add a Time Offset parameter whereby whenever NPVR gets the current time for any reason, the Time Offset is added or subtracted accordingly? I know it could cause problems if the offset gets large, but for small values it shouldn't be an issue.

egreat m34a says npvr server has no content
Posted by: coppelltx - 2010-11-02, 12:29 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (14)

I have 2 win7 servers. One running gbpvr and one running npvr. the egreat can't see the content on the npvr server, but can see content on gbpvr server. I installed nmtinstall2 on my npvr server onherwise both servers are set up the same. On mt nmt screen I can browse networks and see the names of both servers, but it says there is no content found on npvr server. Any ideas?? The nmtinstall2 loaded w/o any errors or problems. I can access all of my pc's from anywhere in the house, just not from nmt.

  Reasons to really like NPVR
Posted by: mvallevand - 2010-11-02, 12:03 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (14)

With so many people still on GBPVR contemplating what they want to as their "Next PVR" and with a support forum that makes it appear like NPVR could be a nightmare I just want to say thanks to sub for sticking it out for the better part of 2010 and keep up the great work. I like it for so many reason now

- fantastic QAM and ATSC scan speeds
- superb HD-PVR support
- great NMT integration
- stable and dependable recordings (I might be lucky but I haven't missed one for months)
- accurate TS file skipping it's probably better on the NMT then the PC but I'm sure not for long.
- digital multi-rec is really working well, even watching the same livetv for one channel on multiple clients.
- amazing memory/utilization footprint, the image shows the impact of streaming live tv from my HDPVR at 720p h264/ AC3 5.1 to my PCH

To use a work I picked up on on this forum, "Cheers"

Martin

Banging my head against the wall (metaphorically)
Posted by: Glynderi - 2010-11-01, 09:49 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (20)

Hi,

I've had to completely rebuild my pc and this has meant reinstalling GBPVR.
I have 2 Nova-T PCI digital cards in the pc and I have successfully installed the software drivers & Hauppage's WinTV v6. I can watch all channels easily with that program.

GBPVR has been installed but I cannot find any channels. I am in Wales and my nearest digital transmitter is Carmel. Following the instructions from the GBPVR Initial Setup Guide, I have tried all Welsh transmitters. When I try to map digital channels only 6 channels are scanned and nothing is found. If I choose the UK/All regions option, 57 channels are scanned but no channels found.

Having had GBPVR working very well for a few years (with earlier help from the forum) I am completely stuck.

Any advice eagerly sought-after.

Thanks

Robin

  Missing digital channels after scan.
Posted by: glampe - 2010-11-01, 09:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

My cable provider moved all the digital channels around. I started remapping channels, but some of them are not in the scan. They fall in the 52.x - 55.x range. WinTV finds them and so does NVPVR, but GBPVR doesn't. I'm trying to wait to try out NVPVR till reruns start.

Any ideas on getting these channels in GBPVR?
Thanks.
