I just reinstalled GB-PVR on a different box. It is running Windows Server 2008 X64. Everything seems to work fine except when it goes to actually record a show, it just doesn't. All devices are detected, and my old recordings imported just fine. It did say something about the mpeg2 demux not being installed so I just changed the setting to something else. I'm only using this to record the TV not to play it back.
The card I'm using is a PVR-500 MCE and it's detected fine in both Windows and GB-PVR. I went ahead and installed the BDA drivers (http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/114549-b...er-2008r2/) in case that was a problem. I saw no improvement.
I really don't want to take this thing back down and re-install windows 7 on it.
I have started using NPVR with my NMT but the pageup/pagedown (on NMT remote) during livetv are reversed. I have them mapped to channelup/channeldown on a universal remote.
With GBPVR pageup=channelup and pagedown=channeldown as is Up and Down arrows. However, in NPVR Up and Down arrows show the mini-guide from which you can choose a channel, but pageup and pagedown work backward. It would be nice if they work properly.
I am not sure if this is an NPVR or NMT issue. Thanks for your help.
In another forum, where i was very active a few month before, there was a thread called "what are you doing right now?". This thread didn't had any technical or informative character, but it raised the social bindings of the users to each other.
Perhaps it were a nice idea too, for this place. If not, then trash me immediately. *wait* Not trashed? Ok, too late. ^.^
Now it's 4 am and i am hungry and tired. Just sorting my music collection. In the last month i collected, backupped and saved my files all over the network. Different files, different ages, different tags... :eek:

Whenever I try to watch live tv, GBPVR uses a SD tuner (the 4th tuner listed) instead of my HD tuner. I have my 3 HD tuners listed first in the settings and then my 2 SD tuners. Is there a setting I am missing somewhere. Anyone have any ideas on how to change this? Thanks.
My cable company changed the channels of some of my stations, so I added new tuners/channel mappings in the GBPVR config while deleting my old tuners/channel maps (I read somewhere that this was safer than simply changing the mapping in the tuners you've already configured).
I noticed that a lot of my scheduled recordings had disappeared, so I checked the Season Recordings tab in EWA and found out that all my season recordings had been deleted. I had to re-enter all of them (not a big deal, I only had 20 or so) to get them back.
Is this a known issue with the Season Recordings plug-in for EWA? If you delete tuners, do the season recordings associated with the tuners automatically get deleted even if you have created new tuners? How should one go about re-mapping channels without getting their Season Recordings deleted (so I can do it properly when my cable company decided to move channels around again)?
I'm having audio problems with an HD channel (STV HD in Scotland) that uses mpeg4 video but only mp2 audio. All my other - working - HD sources have AC3 audio, and that's the only difference I can think of between them.
Basically audio in live TV is working fine, but not in playback of recordings. Loading the recorded file into GraphStudio appears to build the correct graph and the audio is there. It must be a filter/priority setting of some sort but I can't seem to work out what. I'm using ffdshow, and have tried both setting it as the audio decoder explicitly in config and leaving the setting to system default. I've also tried the PDVD decoder with the same outcome.
The attached log file hopefully shows Live TV first, followed by recorded playback.
I have started to run the PC client in non-service mode as I can see no reason to have a Nrecord process on the client. And the client seems to work fine the first time you select a live TV show. Popping back to the EPG and selecting another channel just hangs...
I actually have to restart the service on the server end, restart the client and then I can select another channel. But again selecting another channel hangs...
So, if this is because of me running N-PVR in user mode or if it is another bug I am not sure.
Anyway the server logs are attached.
EDIT: Cannot delete this thread, which I had done I if I could. It seems my crackling audio is back, even in Media Player, so not the N-PVR's fault. Something in my system is still bad. Reboot solves it for a while.
Realtek drivers did NOT solve the problem. Sorry for any confusion.
In my investigations about crackling audio on my Win7 x64 system I had the default drivers from windows update installed. These drivers are supposed to be WHQL-certified and working well. This was however not the case.
I had crackling and popping even when playing files in Media Player etc, so the issues were clearly not connected to N-PVR.
So I installed the latest Realtek drivers from ther Realtek site and those problems went away! So, the official Win7 x64 drivers which are WHQL-certified are in fact broken (as far as I can tell)! I guess this may affect Vista x64 as well. If it affects 32-bit Vista/Win7 I don't know.
I have read in other threads about audio problem, and if those users are having the same system and windows default driver I suggest trying the Realteks own latest drivers. They can be found here: http://www.realtek.com.tw/Downloads/
