NPVR not blasting no different 4 ch problem.
Posted by: bigstusexy - 2010-10-27, 01:47 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Hello,

I've been checking for an update for GB for a while and found NPVR after I needed to find a solution to blasting just suddenly not working. So far so good but I'm running into two short issues the first I"m looking for answers but will take any help offered! The second I just want to put out there.

1. Blasting is not happening. I found usbuirtsend.exe looking in the NPVR section and used it in GB, it works right now almost flawlessly (I can run it while hip is running... but can from a command line)but in NPVR it won't work, logs say its sending the correct command and I can copy and paste and have it work but nothing from NPVR I'm going to run procmon next to see if USBUirtSend.exe is actually ran. Its similar to another thread I found but he had made his own program to call and blast

2. I searched and found someone with a 4 channel typing issue and their fix doesn't work for the current default skin. I found that I can type in 4 digit channels but not with the number pad! I must use the top number row. I've started and stopped the program and service a few times just to make sure it isn't me, I can't reboot right now.

The service is running as myself, I am an admin on the machine and UAC is off.

Request: Playlist functionality within video library too
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2010-10-26, 11:01 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

And me again. Smile

The new playlist feature within the music library works very good, i think. I like it. It were a very good function for the video library too, if i want to watch a few episodes of a serie.
Your corefeature of the playlist to start, where the curser stands and not at the first file is perfect for this!

  Tuner causes Nrecord crash??
Posted by: StevHodge - 2010-10-26, 05:22 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (21)

I have been plagued by Nrecord crashes when recording two programmes at once for a while, and have at last manage to reliably replicate them.

Attached are four suites of logs from four separate events.

In summary what seems to happen is that if I schedule a recording which requires both tuners to be in use I get a crash

I am running a Nova-DT DVB-T card with two tuners under windows XP with an AMD Athlon 5000 dual core processor running at 2.21 ghz with 1.74 gb of RAM

I thought for while that it might be a conflict problem not handled correctly by nrecord, but i am coming to the conclusion that it is something to do with the tuner card.

Oct26Fail3.zip is the key suite of logs. The machine ran along quite happily until a second tuner was required, when recording stopped,.Up until then it was recording 'midsomer murders' and 'countdown' and then 'deal or no deal' quite happily, and simulateneously, but both on the same tuner. then' pointless' started at 4.30 which needed another frequency and everything stopped, despite what the logs say.

The logs in Oct26Fail1.zip show a case where three programmes werev scheduled - 'Aplace in the sun' from 1205 to 1310, 'GMT with..' from 12.30 and 'Due South' from 13.00. the last two mentioned were scheduled, then the machine restarted and then the first mentioned was scheduled. Despite what the logs say all recording stopped at 12.30, I got 25 minutes of the first, about 15 seconds of the second and none of the third programme.

The logs in Oct26 fail2 have two programmes . one 'Instant restaurant' was scheduled for 1415, the machine restarted then ' Lassie..' started at about 14.00.Everything stopped at about 14.20, although at the time the status showed both programmes as being recorded, one on one of the tuners the other on the other. I knew they had stopped though as the file sizes stopped incrementing. At some point after this and before 1500 the machine blue screened

The logs in CrashOct25 show a similar event. in this everything stopped at about 2100 even though the logs seem to say otherwise, and eventually the machine blue screened

Help!!!

Request: Possibility to switch Audio Renderer on the fly
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2010-10-26, 03:36 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (43)

Hello sub

And another wish from me. I have connected two different speakersystems to my mediacenter. 1x Teufel Concept E 5.1 and 1x Stereo Speakers of the connected LCD (via HDMI).
At day i am using most times the 5.1 boxes for movies. It's nice, it's clear, it's fine. But in the evening, or just to listen radio / music etc. it would be enough just to hear from the tv itself.
At the moment i have to change the renderer manual, this one is not very comfortable. I could live with it, that after "on the fly switching" i had to start the playback of any file again.

Just my thoughts, thank you for reading this. =)

  BBCi "channels" on DVB-S
Posted by: BigMoose - 2010-10-26, 02:34 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (29)

Does anyone know what the BBCi "channels" are listed as in an nPVR DVB-S scan? In the GBPVR days I used to manually add them to the scan.cache file but I cant do this anymore with npvr. It's not obvious to me what they are all showing up as in the scan - think I've managed to find about 2 of them out of 9 (is there that many? Cant remember...).

"Remove unreferenced channels" does not work at all
Posted by: Ijaja - 2010-10-26, 07:18 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Simple use case:

at first i removed a channel from my digital channel list (capture sources tab) and added another one instead. The channels in the channels tab did not recognize it, or better the old deleted one is still visible (the new one has been added). A selection of the button remove unreferenced channels did not remove anything.
Later in addition i removed a complete analog recording plugin, again all channels are still visible in channels tab and cannot be removed! What am i doing wrong? what do i have to do? i am using 1.4.7. on windows 7 pro 64 bit. Is it a bug?

DVD / Movie / Series Informations
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2010-10-26, 02:07 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

Hi Com Smile

I have a little question. Using nPVR 1.5.33, importing my dvd collection to harddisk (again, the seagate harddisks were awful! 10 of 11 1,5 tbs died...). A lot of people and developer shows in the wip screens pictures of movies with data. Most times information of a movie, rating or something similar.
In most cases all tools are for us/uk usage only. But i collect my movies with a tool called DVD Profiler from invelos. This tool provides too a lot of information for movies. With an addon it's even possible to export data of own movies to a .csv file which could be imported to excel (as an example).
Exists already a handy dandy tool to extract date from such a .csv for nPVR usage? So that i could retrieve data from my own collection and display somehow within nPVR?

Hi ^^
The bad guy with the stupid and curious wishes is back. Big Grin

Sub, i love animated wallpapers, so i am using DeskScapes 3 from Stardock on my MediaCenter 01. Often enough i just listen to radio or music within nPVR. So there would be no need to leave the nPVR menu fullscreen on the display.

Were it possible to add a feature like "after 10 minutes of idle / playing music" just to minimize nPVR into the taskbar instead of showing "cut off, photos" etc.? This way i could take advantage of the media capabilities of nPVR and listen comfortable to radio / music while let an animated wallpaper (so called "dreams") play on the display? Dreamscene is this: http://www.stardock.com/products/deskscapes/index.asp

I don't wish to exit nPVR to view the "dreams". And if pressing one button on keyboard / remote control, nPVR should go back (window / fullscreen).

Could you do something like this without breaking to much within nPVR? This would be very kindly. =)

Hauppage PVR-150 not in the device type list
Posted by: dalokgawd - 2010-10-26, 01:42 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I was running an older version of GBPVR on my computer, but when my hard drive crashed I had to reinstall Windows and I upgraded to Windows 7. I installed the latest version of GBPVR (1.47), but my tv tuner card is not on the list of devices for me to choose from on the settings page for the capture source. When I check the box to only show detected cards, it says there are no cards present. I have installed the most current drivers for my card compatible with Windows 7 and according to my device manager it is detected by Windows and is working properly.

Does this new version of GBPVR not support my Hauppage PVR-150? I tried installing the older version of the software I was using with this tuner card but the older version crashed under Windows 7.

What are my options here? Is there a way to make version 1.47 work with my card? Should I switch to this new NPVR software that is still in beta? I'm going out of town on Saturday and my wife is desperate to have the PVR working again before I leave so she can tape her shows while I'm gone. Please help!

  Request: Support for .png graphics
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2010-10-25, 11:20 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Hi sub!

I have a lot of previews for folders in .png format (because of the transparency effect not as .jpg). Could you please add the feature to read "folder.png" too instead just only file graphics as .png?

Thank you in advance for your effort. Smile

(below here you can see the difference between the .jpg folder previews (right side) and the .png folder previews (left side).
