  Control STB with WinLirc
Posted by: OhWell - 2010-10-04, 09:54 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (5)

I'm trying to setup a serial IR blaster to control my STB. I found an How-To at this page:

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Hardware/WinLirc

1st step (WinLirc) works fine!
But it seems that Irex17.zip is not available anymore (web site down or something).

Is there any other way to control my STB with a serial IR blaster??

Thanks!

  Any wget guru's out there?
Posted by: jksmurf - 2010-10-04, 03:04 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (8)

I'm trying to add a schedule to my list of channels using TVxB, which is based on wget.

URL is

http://www.starhub.com/dev/shows/print.html?no=36

and it works fine in IE, but just doesn't download.

I've been using and configuring TVxB for several years now and have gotten "reasonably" familiar with it but I am stumped at the first hurdle.

With wget I always get this message when I open the downloaded html file "C:\Utils\TVXB\TVXB04Test\cache\TVxb-deutschewelle.hk-20101004.html"

Quote: Technical Problem Encountered - Internal Server Error (HTTP 500)

Could not retrieve the HTML document because of server-configuration problems. Sorry for any inconvenience, you can try again later. Please use your browser back button to return to the StarHub site.

I did try adding a wgetrc file to the ini as per TVxB manual - no improvement.

Code:
cookies=on load_cookies=cookies-input.txt save_cookies=cookies-output.txt

Log file shows wget syntax TVxB uses

Code:
Status: processing deutschewelle.hk ("Deutsche Welle,365") 03/10/2010... Status: processing deutschewelle.hk ("Deutsche Welle,365") 04/10/2010... WGET>>: wget -E -t 5 [URL]http://www.starhub.com/dev/shows/print.html?no=36[/URL] Status: processing C:\Utils\TVXB\TVXB04Test\cache\TVxb-deutschewelle.hk-20101004.html"

So.... how can I make sure it downloads?

Cutting .TS files with comskip output
Posted by: mcb7 - 2010-10-04, 02:58 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Hi,

Apologies if this has already been answered (I did try a few searches but nothing came up). I've seen lots of posts about comskip and .ts files but they are all about playback in NPVR. The problem I have is wanting to cut the .ts file to remove the ads before then converting it to mp4 format.

I've found various GUI tools that can be used to edit .ts files but I'm looking for a CL tool that can be added to the postprocessing.bat and that will take in one of the formats comskip will output. I thought I was there with ProjectX but unfortunately it will only do Frame Position cutting (that comskip outputs) when you are demuxing. Since my program of choice for the mp4 encoding is Handbrake, unless I add another remuxing step, I can't use it because it doesn't take demuxed input.

Any ideas? TA.

Encrypted channels with CI not working
Posted by: Barsk - 2010-10-04, 01:51 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (25)

I installed NPVR right beside GBPVR, so no change in HW or BDA drivers. With GB-PVR I can view encypted channels with the CI/CAM interface. But with NPVR I get a black screen. Other channels are fine.
I have a three tuner setup where two tuners that has no CI serves only free channels. And my Twinhan DTV Ter-CI (shows as a filter name with 878 in it) serves only the encrypted channels.

logs are attached

  dvb-t signal strength/quality
Posted by: Rumbelstilzchen - 2010-10-04, 11:17 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Hello,
I'm trying to find the best/correct position of my antenna. Is there a possibility that npvr shows me the signal strength or quality? I didn't find it.
Or do I need an external program? Which?

NPVR not recording when waking up from standby
Posted by: aesn5 - 2010-10-03, 04:37 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

Hi,

I noticed some strange behavior when recording programs:
As long I keep my PC out of standby mode, every recording works like a charm. But when it gets into standby mode, it gets woken up at the right time but nothing is getting recorded. I've added some logs showing that I wanted to record something today at 17:50. At 18:00 I tried to play the part that has already been recorded, but the file was empty (0 Byte), so I cancelled the recording. I already looked at the logs, but couldn't spot any errors. Has anyone an idea why this is happening? Thanks in advance.

Best Regards

aesn5

Can't find all channels (Canal Digital - Norway)
Posted by: nordemoniac - 2010-10-03, 02:14 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (23)

Hi!

I can receive 125 channels (needs a couple of scans to get them all). This is including both TV and radio-channels.

However, I'm missing several channels (I think it should be like 140 total).

Examples of missing channels:

- Viasat 4
- Discovery Channel HD

The card is a Terratec Cinergy C PCI HD w/CI (not in use).

Any suggestions?

newCS/Acamd gives "TVNZ" message when switching channel
Posted by: nordemoniac - 2010-10-03, 02:12 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (36)

Hi!

I'm using NPVR, newCS and Acamd.

Acamd gives me this information when changing the channel. What does this mean?

Code:
15:58:42.137: 15:58:42.137: Ch: 261 - TVNZ 15:58:42.137: Programm crc: 177F7B54 15:58:42.138: PMT: ACamd_PMT.txt, search, not found PMT=0105 (AND SID=05E4) 15:58:42.138: PMT: chcache.ini, 0105,05E4,0B00,00000000,0064,0000,TVNZ 15:58:42.138: 0x0105 0x05E4 0x0B00 0x00000000 0x0064 0x0000 11111110

After this code, it takes 0,5 second, and the new channel is viewed, and decoding continues.
If I'm recording one channel in the mux, and I switch channels, I get the same message, and the recording gets a small cut (lasting 0,5 second).

Anything I should edit in a config file?

  Dvd osd
Posted by: McBainUK - 2010-10-03, 08:00 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Playing a DVD in NPVR I get a timeline but no OSD with buttons like in GB-PVR: [IMG][URL="http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/uploads/Manual/small-dvd.jpg"][/IMG]

Is this because there isn't one or am I doing something wrong? Also, are there keyboard shortcuts for changing the aspect ratio, skip/chapter navigation etc like in GB-PVR?

Zero-byte recordings. Why, and will NPVR fix it?
Posted by: McBainUK - 2010-10-03, 07:55 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Zero-byte recordings are at 2010-09-29 20:00, 2010-09-29 21:00 and 2010-10-01 21:00. A few snippits of interest (full logs attached):

GB-PVR was use to watch LiveTV in between and sometimes during these failed recordings.

Can anyone tell me why they failed (the logs have errors but I don't understand all the messages) and will moving to NPVR fix it?
