Hi there

Are there any problems in letting the NPVR Recording Service logon as the admin and not the local system account?

NPVR PC client freeze when playing live tv
Posted by: trummel - 2010-09-07, 06:30 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (67)

I have a new install of NPVR on a Vista server, with a couple of Acer R3610 PC clients. Recordings play back OK on the clients, but Live TV will freeze video and audio at random times. The clients are configured to use streaming over a GBit network. The server records from dvb-t tuners . The temporary ts files on the server continue to grow after the client has frozen. Hitting escape on the client will return me to the menu and I can then go back into live tv.

I've had a quick look at the logs, but they don't throw any light for me, perhaps someone smarter can have a look.

BTW, the clients are using Win7, npvr 1.5.31, and MS DTV-DVD for mpeg2.

TIA

Martyn.

NPVR: Find more and IMDB lookup
Posted by: agerdin - 2010-09-07, 06:11 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

sub, I know this might be far fetched but I thought to give it a go Wink

Currently in the PVRX plugin TVListings you can select a "Find more" option which will search and display all occurences of that show in all channels at all times. Furthermore you can select a site where a lookup is made and information is scraped and displayed. See attached pictures below for better illustration.

As it seems that Alibert who wrote the TVListings has not been on the forum in a loong time I doubt he is moving his plugin forward to NPVR. Is there any chance this functionality will be included in the original TV Guide?

Thanks,

\\Agerdin

  NPVR: TV Guide recording icons
Posted by: agerdin - 2010-09-07, 05:51 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Is there anyway to get the recording icons (planned (green), in progress (half gree/half red) and done (red)) as well as the top indicator bar in NPVR. Can it be done with skinning?

The attached picture shows the functionality as it currently is implemented in the PVRX plugin TVListings.

  NPVR Recording Service Won't Install
Posted by: ktalley - 2010-09-07, 05:48 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

I am trying to install NPVR on a machine where the boot drive is "G:" (no idea whether that is related or not), and I simply can NOT get the recording service to install. If I type "Nrecord install" (which is what I thought I saw the install process doing) from a command prompt (when in the NPVR directory), it does nothing that I can see (no errors in event logs either). But the service definitely never shows up in my list of Windows services (and if I try a restart from the tray menu, it throws an error about no installed service by that name). Any ideas on why this service won't install? Oh, I'm running XP SP2.

Thanks!
Kevin T.

Scrolling Popups in TV Guide and Recordings
Posted by: Graham - 2010-09-07, 04:04 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Alibert has posted that a NPVR version of his TV Listings is unlikely anytime soon.

Does the spiffing new architecture of NPVR allow for an easy implementation of scrolling popups in TV Guide and Recordings?

It seems a shame to limit the visible description to only the chars that can be displayed in a static box. For example, the XMLTV file from Radio Times often produces a description that is bigger than a staic popup can display.

Zehd's Ultra enhancer widget does an good job putting, for example, lists of actors into the description and this works well with a scrolling popup.

Pretty please.

  Guide 2 display formatting
Posted by: b00sfuk - 2010-09-07, 03:33 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (4)

Starting to use the "2" variants (still on GB-PVR) and have one question on the Guide please. I prefer to not display the program description so as to get more channels per page (i.e. just title & subtitle). This works fine with the old guide and lets me see around a dozen channels per page. With the new guide though it just leaves blank space where the description was and I only see 6 channels per page. Is this working as designed and if so any pointer on what I can edit for my own use please?
thanks again
