Recently I noticed that the picture on my hd tv, when hooked up through hdmi, dims when I turn on subtitles by pressing the yellow button on the remote. The same happens when I press the blue button to display the bar that shows the recording length. Turning off the subtitles brightens the picture back to normal. The same happens when the recording length bar disappears. These symptoms do not occur if I'm hooked up through component cables, only when output through hdmi cable.
BTW, the native PCH player does not display these same symptoms, maintaining a sharp and bright picture through hdmi.
Is there anything I can do to avoid the picture degradation and retain the subtitles?
I got a PCH A110 and want to connect it with GBPVR (Version 1.4.7, I also tried it with the version 1.1.5).
The PCH can connect to the Windows Media Player on the PC and displays videos. I can connect also the PC with the PCH by using the adress 192.168.178.104:8883/network_share.html in the internet explorer.
But when I try to install the mvpmcx2 with NMTInstall.exe the installation process aborts after I type in the MAC-Adress an click on "Install". Before it aborts it shows shortly that the installation-routine tries to connect, then it aborts.
Is there any way how I can install mvppmcx2 on my PC?
I have been a long time GBPVR and MVP user, but 1 MVP died, lightning fried it. (still have 2 units though). With new tech since I started, what would be a good replacement extender.
Would like to hear for your experiences with different solutions.
Hello,
i have a HD homerun tuner and have my EPG set and downloaded the data, and have my recording set to digital and my device is listed and selected, But when i go to map my channels i get two listed and the utility freezes and it show up on the windows task manager as not responding.
I will include my logs.
Thanks
I guess these do not work on Analog cable at all, Right?
I am having an issue with getting consistent standby behavior with my GB-PVR setup.
My setup:
ASUS M3A78 780G motherboard
Not using on board video, using a ATI 47?? card
Current GB-PVR, I couldn't find any patches
I had 2 HVR-1600's captures OTA, but the 2nd card wouldn't wake up about 50% of the time, so pulled them and put in a HVR-2250.
I'm using the slick solution MCE standby tool logging, and it doesn't log any user activity, except when expected. I have the PC set not to wake up for anything ( network, usb ). The only way to wake it up is to push the button on the front. It works flawlessly with recordings and re-standbys after EPG updates and recordings, as long as PVRX2 isn't running. If PVRX2 is running, it won't standby unless I force it.
I've been using MceEpg2XmlTv. It has worked fine for a couple years. I am a FIOS customer and suddenly find all of my channels are listed in the 3000 range. Unfortunately, whenever I try to record anything i record a bunch of FIOS user help information. I tried switching to MCE2XML with no luck. I' have no idea what is wrong. Appreciate any help. Thanks.
Like many others, I have my GBPVR box hooked up to my plasma TV and am using no other monitor. This is troublsome at times because the computer will sometimes not restart the display driver when coming out of sleep unless the TV is already on. This issue has gotten more complex now that I have a HDMI capable receiver in the mix. Solutions are either sleeping and waking the computer again, or remoting into it with a laptop which forces the display to kick back in. It's a hassle to do either of these things though. Additionally it's a bit of a pain doing computer maintenance/tweeking when your only interface is a wireless keyboard/mouse and a 42" Tv hanging on a wall 10' from the nearest chair, so I've been trying to find a good secondary monitor that will not be an eye sore to the wife.
These ones look like they just might do it. http://www.mimomonitors.com/ Should also be able to use it to browse and play music on the GBPVR machine w/o turning on the TV, which would be super cool, I think. I just wish that they plugged into the computers VGA port instead of USB. I don't know if it's going to help with the whole video driver not coming back on issue if it's got it's own, separate video driver from the one displaying stuff on the plasma. Oh well, pretty cool anyways. What do ya'll think?
Hi,
I have TataSky and am planning to hook up PVR via an IR blaster. problem is that if during recording there is a power failure, then it takes about 20 seconds for our power backup to turn on the power. In that time as the STB got off, it reset to default channel on powering on.
In such a scenario how can I ensure that after power is resumed, the IR blaster sets the STB back to the same channel which was being recorded?
I am using U6012 HDTV Stick with gbpvr 1.4.7 to watch QAM channels and it runs fine in Windows XP. However, in Windows 7 I am seeing the following:
- in Windows 7 when I clicked on the GBPvrTray icon in the Windows taskbar the pull-down menu did not show the options to Restart/Stop Recording Service. Was that normal? Could that be an install problem? I could see the GBPvrRecording service installed and started in the Windows 7 Services panel though. I could see these menu items in the GBPvrTray fine in Windows XP.
- GBPvr 1.4.7 was not able to locate the U6012 TV tuner device in Windows 7 (it worked fine in Windows XP). I could watch TV using Windows Media Center 7 and TotalMedia 3.5 in Windows 7 however.
In Config.exe when I enabled 'Only show devices detected in this machine', a dialog w/ the message 'No known cards detected in this machine' came up. Device number was set to 1. The U6012 is the only TV capture device on the machine.
The default set up in bda.ini is this:
[Mygica U6012 HDTV Stick (QAM)]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
TUNING_SPECIAL=2
FILTER_TUNER=HDTV Stick Digital Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=HDTV Stick Digital Tuner
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
I ran filtercheck and it did see the Mygica U6012 USB stick:
