  Hauppage HVR-950 video
Posted by: kc5zfz - 2010-06-07, 10:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I'm new to GBPVR. I followed the installation and config guides (http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...-available). As it was scanning the OTA frequencies (it did a good job finding everything), I could only hear audio from each channel, there was no video, just black. Same thing when it finished the scan, no video when I clicked on a channel to preview. I know the video on this hardware works, because I have been using WinTV2000 for quite a while. I completed the setup and opened PVRX2 and it was the same as the previews, very good audio and correct channels, but no video, just black. If I close PVRX2 and open WinTV2000, I get video on all channels, so it's not a weak signal issue

Any suggestions on what I did wrong and what I can do to get it working with this software?

  USB DVB-C tuner recommendment
Posted by: masterbit - 2010-06-07, 09:59 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Hi all

I've been using GBPVR for many years now, and never had ANY problems at all.
A very nice product. Smile

My setup have been a PVR-150 on a pentium 4 - 2 ghz. 2gb ram.. with XP

Now I want a DVB-C tuner on a Atom d510 hardware, mounted on the USB port.
But I really have a hard time, finding a USB stick in the hardware requirement list!

So, can anybody reccomend a USB DVB-C stick? Which works together with the GBPVR.

Thank you.

  Audio Description help!
Posted by: cheft - 2010-06-07, 03:10 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I would like to NOT record the Audio Description when I record things on say PBS Nova. I use a WinTV HVR-1600 to record ATSC to .TS with GBPVR v1.2.9

  How do I Reconfigure Channels?
Posted by: divinehammer - 2010-06-07, 02:09 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I have a hauppauge PVR150 card in my DVR. Recently my cable company has changed some channels so that they are under different numbers. I have been running GBPVR for years and now I have forgotten how to move channels like this around. When I initially installed GBPVR I had to add in some frequencies of some channels to come in right so I know how to go into config and update the source channel under capture sources to a new frequency by putting the frequency in. However when I then try and go to this channel it is not right.
Here is an example of what i am working with channels 74 and 79 have switched content. So using Dscaler I got all the freqs for the changing channels. I went into capture sources and for FMC (74) i set the Freq that dscaler gave me for ABCF(79) I set its frequency also.
I then went to my channels tab and changed the appropriate Channel numbers to match with the stations. So FMC became 79 and ABCF became 74. Now when I try to go into live tv it goes to black and bounces me back out. Now I do know that Schedules direct is not getting all the correct data in the guide yet but I should still be able to get to the live tv portion.
I am trying to figure out what step I am missing here. I will update this post more as continue to work on it this evening. But if someone could just outline the steps I should be taking that would be great. Thanks.

Harmony Remote MCE IR Dongle, Buttons (Winodws [Crtl + Esc]) + (Alt +Tab)
Posted by: kirschey - 2010-06-06, 11:43 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (6)

I am trying to correct a remote issue with my harmony one and mce ir dongle. I used to have the Windows [Crtl + Esc] button and an [Alt + Tab] customized to the remote via keyboard, but I can not longer teach the remote commands with the keyboard I have.

Does anyone know if a way to implement this so that I can check on other software from my remote with out the need for vnc or something similar?

I am already familiar with the MCE remote with out software link: http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...Y-SOFTWARE!

but I don't believe it will work outside of the GBPVR software.

Thanks

  OnTheFly switching between Stereo/Mono/DualMono
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2010-06-06, 07:50 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (6)

Hey sub Smile

While watching a few older movies, i experienced something special. A lot of older movies in germany have Mono Sound. This is normally no problem, but these type of movies have different languages saved in every sound channel. The left channel has german and the right channel has another type of language (in most cases the original language: english, france, spanish etc.).

It would be wunderful if i could switch with my remote between (like on the older televisions) between stereo/mono left/mono right/dual mono sound while watching live tv or recordings.

At the moment it's really annoying to watch these videos and listen simultan to the german and other language audio... ^^;

Or is this already possible and i haven`t found this until today? I don`t think so, but the mighty GB-PVR has even today a few secrets. Big Grin

  EPG update trouble
Posted by: gaspika - 2010-06-05, 08:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

After two years I started to use your great program again. But I encountered the problem I can not update the EPG from a XML file. Would you be so kind to check the log files to isolate the trouble?
Thanks.

  1.4.7 Configuration Problems - Can´t get any TV-channel
Posted by: immigrant - 2010-06-05, 05:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

I have a Medion PC MD 8838 with Vista 32 and the built in TV card is SAA7231 Triple Capture Device from Creatix. On the roof I have a 90 cm dish with 2 Universal LNB´s (1 for ASTRA and 1 for Hotbird) in a multifeed holder and a 60 cm dish with one Universal LNB. The dishes are connected to DiSEqC switches so that I could have 4 Koax connections inhouse.

Since about one year I watch all three satellites on my PC with the built in Media Center with no problems. But from the beginning I didn´t liked it too much. Than I heard about GB-PVR and I thougt to give it a try.

Installation worked fine. But than I had to learn that my TV card is not supported. But thanks to your excellent WIKI I found out how to add a not supported capture card. The modified BDA.ini is included in the attached zip-file.

After modifying the BDA.ini I started the config program. Here comes what I did:

I got to Capture Sources tab
I entered a name for my capture card
I picked the Digital Recording Plugin as the Recording Source
I clicked "Settings" for the Recording Source
In the upcoming window I picked as Device Type "SAA7231 Triple Capture Device DVB-S"
As Device Number I picked "1"
As Satellite I picked Astra 1E, 1F, ......
As DiSEqC I picked A
Than I hit the OK button 3 times and
the Digital Channel Mapping screen popped up with the arrow changing in to a sand clock.

But nothing happend. After about 15 minutes I killed GB-PVR with strg-alt-del.

Unfortunately I don´t have a screenshot of the Digital Channel Mapping window and I also can´t get to it anymore. When I start GB-PVR config now and hit the Capture Sources tab it looks like the screenshot enclosed to the attached zip file. Also enclosed is a screenshot of the recording source and the source configuration window as well as the logfile.

I also searched the support forum but I coudn´t find a similar problem. Therefore I would be very grateful if someone could give me a hint whether I did something wrong or how to solve this problem in order to get GB-PVR running. Thank you very much.

A nice weekend for everybody.

  Mapping Digital Channels
Posted by: skycyclepilot - 2010-06-05, 03:25 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (4)

Mapping Digital channels to EPG channels could be easier. Having to select each channel from a long drop down list takes a long time, and it's easy to mess up.

In my case, the first digital channel that matches the EPG channel is always the correct choice. For example, digital channel 15.1 gets mapped to EPG channel 15. Digital channel 18.1 gets mapped to EPG channel 18, and so on.

Having GBPVR automatically map the first matching digital channel would be a good start. From there, you might have to correct a few entries, but it would be much easier than manually selecting each and every channel.
