  Recordings thumbnails on client
Posted by: smartin - 2010-05-25, 09:24 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

This is not a big issue but something that has been bothering me lately. On two of my clients I can't see the thumbnails for the recordings. They work fine on the server and one of my clients but the other two will not show the thumbnails.

I can go into the TV recordings directory in explorer and see the thumbnails on the two machines that this doesn't work in pvrx2.

I have tried hitting the mode button several times on these machines and made sure the machines can see the folder.jpg files. I have also uninstalled GBPVR, removed the entire Devnz directory and reinstalled 1.4.7 Any suggestions?

Thanks

Won't play recordings; won't play live TV
Posted by: peterh - 2010-05-25, 06:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

As previous thread.... the system has been working fine since start of year (V1.4.7). The problems have become apparent following a week away but don't know what has happened in that time. Trying to play .TS recordings just gives a black screen. Older .MPG files crash the program. The TS files play OK, though, in media player. If I try to watch live TV it plays several bursts of sound then crashes. To check the tuners I have tried Config - map channels but that crashes. The tuners will work, though in ProgDVB. I have tried a repair install which reported as successful, but still not working. It's running Windows 7 32 bit Professional. Foxconn MB with E5200 dual core processor. 2GB RAM. 3 TV cards....1 x Nova T PCI, 1 x Skystar2HD PCI and 1 x Asus ES2-750. Any ideas? Thanks

Gbpvr will not open in Windows 7
Posted by: JMT - 2010-05-25, 02:58 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I have tried to reload Gbpvr several times and I can not get it to open in win 7. I only get a Win 7 notice that Gbpvr has stopped working. It does show the below problem however, I do not know what I need to fix. In the past it has also mentioned a Net Frame Work problem.

Trying to get gbpvr to work with Hauppauge HVR-1600 over analog
Posted by: Deltaforce229 - 2010-05-25, 03:44 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I have a Hauppauge HVR-1600 tuner card that I'm trying to get working with gbpvr.

I got the capture source settings as follows but when I select "Live TV" nothing happens.

Source Name: Hauppauge HVR-1600
Recording Source: Analog Recording Plugin
EPG Source: None
Channel Changer: No Channel Changer Required

Recording Source Settings
Capture Card Type: Hauppauge HVR-1600 (Analog)
Country: USA
Board Number: Capture Device #1
Source: Internal Tuner
Tuning: Cable

Is this an incompatibility or something else?

  remote/tuner suggestions
Posted by: meekajr - 2010-05-25, 03:28 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I decided to take some parts that were lying around and put together an HTPC system. Here is my current system:

Window 7 Ultimate
ASUS V3-M2A690G Barebone system (I'll never buy an ASUS barebone system again)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Windsor 2.2GHz 65W Dual-Core Processor
A-DATA DDR2 800 2GB (will be 4GB when A-DATA sends back the DRAM module I RMAed)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 160GB PATA (for OS and apps)
Western Digital Caviar Green 800GB SATA (new "Advanced Format" 4K sector drive for recordings)
SAMSUNG DVD+/-RW SATA
Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 500W

I probably have it connected to an old 27" tube TV, but may eventually move it to a 42" plasma. The ASUS barebone system include an HDMI output as well as a standard video output for the tube TV. Granted, I have tested them, but the drivers appear to at least be installed. Here are my questions:

I'm leaning towards getting a Hauppage 2250 with the MCE remote, but was looking at some suggestions. I currently have local cable (Charter Communications), but it's not a digital package. I thought the card would fit my needs (dual tuner, hardware encoder), but was wondering if I would be better off finding a different remote. (1) Any reason not to get the Hauppage 2250?

(2) Anyone have any suggestions on $30-$40 (US) remote that works well with GB-PVR? I like the idea of using an RF remote, but I don't know it would be necessary. Gyration RF remotes look interesting, but I'm not sure if I want to spend that much.

(3) Also, since I don't have the tuner card yet, would I be better off just waiting until the new release comes out? If I ordered the card today, I'd get it in a week and it'd probably be a few more days before it was installed. Assuming I order today, we're probably looking at installing the first week of June.

Related to the previous question. (4) When I get a tuner card, should I install the card first or GB-PVR first or does it matter?

Thanks for any help you can provide. I hear good things about GB-PVR and hope I can get it up and running soon.

NZ FreeView, LiveTV No Picture, No Sound, only EPG
Posted by: guysherman - 2010-05-24, 09:35 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi All,

I'm really new to this, and am hoping someone can spot the obvious mistake.

My problem is that in GB-PVR, I get no picture or sound - all I can see is the EPG information.

My system is as follows:

Hauppauge WinTV NOVA-TD 500
Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit).
Core 2 Quad Q6600
2GB RAM
XFX nVidia 8800GT (with latest drivers from XFX).

I am in New Zealand.

I installed the drivers and software from the disc that came with the card. The WinTV software (version 7 AFAIK) gives me a good picture, but stuttery sound (like when you set the latency too low on DirectSound) on all channels except our TV3 (which is AC3 audio).

In GBPVR I have the ArcSoft decoders set in pretty much all the categories, except I'm using the latest version of Monogram for the HE-AAC audio one.

Sometimes GBPVR tells me that I have no signal, which seems odd because I can always get a perfect picture through WinTV (just lame sound), and my flatmate can plug his FreeView enabled TV into the other branch off of our splitter (which is almost severed at one point, whereas mine is brand new) and get perfect picture and sound.

AFAIK I am running a 32-bit version of GB-PVR, which I guess might be the problem because ActiveX / COM / DirectShow components of different bittages can not be mixed and maybe I have 64-bit drivers for the card?

I'll post logs and screenshots of my settings tonight when I get home.

Thanks.

  IMDB Scraping not working properly?
Posted by: agerdin - 2010-05-24, 06:54 PM - Forum: SearchWiz & MovieWiz - Replies (5)

Javawiz, I am using aliberts TVListing which in turn is using the wizDLLs for scraping IMDB. Recently (couple of months) I have noticed that some information is not received from IMDB. Mostly I am looking to get the rating information. Are you aware if anything has been updated in the IMDB API. See thread http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...post375869 for more information.

I have updated to the latest version of the dll's from the wiki.

Thanks,

\\Agerdin

Hi

I just got this cheap tuner in Aldi in Copenhagen, it has a BDA driver but my puny attempts to hack an entry in bda.ini have failed.

This is the contents of filtercheck.log if someone would like to have a go.

  No Show Details
Posted by: kirschey - 2010-05-24, 05:50 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I turned on my DVR today and now have no show details. I switched from analog to digital sources on Saturday, but did not delete them.

I emptied the EPG and updated it again with no luck.

Any ideas besides mapping again all the digital channels?
