I have a problem with Paraled and hope that someone has some advice.
I previously installed it in Windows 7. I had downloaded a new inpout32.dll from http://www.highrez.co.uk/Downloads/InpOut32, and copied the dll and the installdriver.exe
into the gbpvr directory. Right click on the exe and run as admin, seemed to install ok.
The problem is that the LED's sometime light up and stay on, and sometime go on for a second
and then go off. They come back on again, i think every 3 seconds (paraled cycle time?).
I have noticed that I have a similar result with the LedUtility, so not sure what could be
the cause.
The only difference with this install is that I have moved to a mirror'd hard drive.
Thus I cannot see how BIOS settings on the Parallel port would matter.
When I go back and boot on the original hard drive, Paraled works fine.
This is a minor annoyance and I'm more curious than anything. I recently did a reinstall of GBPVR (v. 1.0.8) and it does not return to the menu after a show has run all the way through. It just hangs on the last frame of the show until I manually return to the menu. I have been using this version for a long time and this has never been an issue. Any ideas?
I have a Hauppauge 1199 WinTV HVR-1600 Internal PCI Dual TV card that brings in my cable analog. Can I use this one card to record multiple stations at once?
I've been struggling with my GBPVR setup for a while now, with so so image quality and jerkiness when panning, whilst watching TV and DVDs. I was running a PCIe Radeon HD 2400 Pro and feeding it into a Hyundat 32" 720p LCD TV. The native resolution of the telly is 1366x768, so I had the driver set to that and forced the refresh rate to 50hz (necessary for the UK) using powerstrip.
Well, I finally got around to swapping my VGA lead for a DVI->HDMI lead this week and what a difference! The image quality is MILES better and scrolling / panning is super smooth, although only at 1280 x 720. I don't mind missing a small part of the screen for the return in image quality. I can run at 50hz natively now (without Powerstrip) and have applied all sorts of ffdshow sharpening with no impact on performance. The display looks fantastic.
I just wish I'd changed to a digital lead a long time ago!!
While building myself a new system, i have run into a bit of a problem that I hope to get some assistance with. It's a new case, motherboard, CPU, harddrive, with HDPVR on Windows 7.
I tested the setup with the application provided by Hauppauge and it works great. Just in case I updated the drivers to make sure I had the latests changes.
My original plan was to run Media center just to try it out however DVBLink fails to see media center so that is not working.
So I figured I would return to my old faithful GBPVR. However it seems that it is not much better. GBPVR does not find HDPVR so I tried a couple of the available options but none of them worked as there was no live TV.
I also noticed that although the setup program seems to find all my channels just fine (after retrieving them from schedules direct) the guide wont show and the log states that no channels were located.
Any ideas of what might be going on?
I really hope someone on here can point me in the right direction even if that means another program as I am currently the proud owner of the worlds most expensive paperweight.
So I have this app that scans folders and converts various video files into mpeg format for my MVP.
Recently I rewrote it to handle aspect ratios properly for display on my SD tv.
Any files that come in larger than 640x480 get converted down, and if their aspect ratio is something other than 4:3, the mpeg gets padding. This is working good.
However, files that are smaller than 640x480 seem to be hit and miss.
My script lets them thru 'as is' if the aspect ratio is correct (4:3).. it pads if other than 4:3.
Some 4:3 videos play on the MVP fine (full screen).. I think one example is a 320x240 file.
But then a 480x360 (also 4:3) plays in the top portion of the screen, instead of filling it out. My script didnt pad it at all, since it was 4:3 and under 640x480.
I think Im lacking some understanding of how the MVP or my TV handles different resolution sources.
I could indeed pad these smaller sources into a 640x480 file, but then it would be very small screen at the tv. I think Id rather let them play full-screen if possible.
Just to say that for anyone who wants to get the listings for C42 (C4 all-day music video offshoot, so no real program lineup) and SBS One, Two and HD via sub's DVBtoXMLTV program, add the following lines to DvbToXMLTV.xml:

as well as adding this transponder search at the end of the file before the </Scan> tag:

Unfortunately when I put my second dvb-s card in I went for the cheap and cheerful splitter option rather than getting a dual lnb, so recording any of the NZ Horizontal broadcasts during an SBS Vertical recording will be out of the question.
For anyone else who has set up dual dvb-s cards with a splitter, do your satellite rescan on your first source, as my second one couldn't change the polarity.
Now to decide if the lineup is worth getting a dual lnb for (unfortunately the one previously on sale at freeviewshop has gone back to $79). SBS may disappear again, but I know of several people who intend to use it to watch the Football World Cup in HD.
I have two capture cards in my PC. One is an Hauppauge 2250 which has an IR plug and a secondary card with it for another IR plug. The two tuners in the 2250 card are used to capture Clear QAM channels.
The second card is an Hauppauge 1600 which does not have any IR plug on it. One of the card's tuners is used to capture Clear QAM channels. The second tuner is analog and the card has plugs for SVideo and Left and Right audio.
I want to use the SVideo interface on the 1600 to interface with a Verizon FIOS standard definition set top box.
Unfortunately, the distance between the back of the PC and the set top box is approximately 7 feet. This is longer than the IR cable that came with the card.
My plan is to eventually add another analog card and interface with another SD set top box and use the second IR blaster output from the 2250 card if that is possible.
Q1: Can I can use the two IR blaster outputs that came with the 2250 card to control a set top box which will interface to the 1600 card?
Q2: If the above can't accomplish what I want, where can I find IR Blaster hardware to output independently to at least two different set top boxes from the computer over a cable distance of at least 7 feet long?
Q3: Where would you recommend obtaining 7 foot IR cables in the U.S.?
Q4: What is the recommended software to have GBPVR drive the IR blasters? I've looked at the IR Server Suite and find it confusing, at the very least.
I've been studying this and think I may be close with the hardware I have but don't know the best way to make it all work.
I'm a pushover for bargains and gizmos, so I ordered one and it has just arrived. It looks like they are going in and out of stock
It has been freed up and more outside apps are available as are some linux distributions.
I intend to try to use it to display the status of the remote server - sleep state, upcoming and current recordings etc. It is far too easy to hit the satellite remote to view something live on the TV when it is recoding something else.
