Config doesn't seem to be updating...
Posted by: Miller - 2010-05-27, 05:24 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I did a fresh install of Windows 7-64-bit. After installing 1.4.7 I went into the config and added my tuners, EPG data (Schedules Direct), changed the default directories for my Photos, Music, Videos, and Recordings, and started 1 MVP. After exiting, (and a restart of the recording service) I load of GBPVR and it looks like I haven't done a thing to my config. The LiveTV and TVGuide just flash at me when I click on them and the Photos, Music, and Video buttons still reference the old directory locations. The System tab references the old drive in terms of space it says I have left. So it appears like the changes I made to the Config didn't apply.

The weird part if that when I access GBPVR through my MVP everything looks and works like it should.

Any ideas?

I was reading through this post and will try it when I get home, but I wasn't sure my situation was the same.

No LiveTV with GBPVR client in Windows Vista 64--Help!
Posted by: Cerasmuerto - 2010-05-27, 04:32 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I have searched these forums and tried various different solutions.

Here is the configuration:
Server in Windows Vista 64--I can watch and record Live TV and EPG gets updated. All Tuners are configured correctly 5 digital and one analog. 4 Tuners are dual Tuner HDHomeruns and the 5th is Hauppage 1600 Digital and 6th is Hauppage Analog. Windows firewall is disabled on both (which I hate-but I am savvy enough to create a firewall rule that would allow all ports opened only within my subnet). I have set up a QoS rule also on my router stating same all ports opened but only within my subnet.
GBPVR is being shared with permissions for everyone and full control. I have set up GBPVR recording service set up with a administrative logon on account on the server. I can from the client modify the stop bat file and see it saved with the changes on the server. I have created test.txt files on each of the GBPvr subfolders from the client on the Server and I am able to delete them without any problems from the client. I have another program TVersity that I can share all the recordings/shows/movies without any file-sharing issues. Hence why I don't understand how come GBPvr is not as friendly

From the Client I can setup recordings and view them. I can access the video, music, and photo library on the server via the GBPVR menu and play the different movies, photos and songs.

From the Client I can update the EPG on the server via the System tab selection. I am using a schedules direct account for my EPG source. Yet for some reason I am unable to watch Live TV either via the guide and selecting a show by clicking "watch now" option or the LiveTV option on the main menu from the client. I have set the delay to 6000ms.

I am thinking I may something incorrect in the server configuration. Because when I set up my client as a standalone server I can view liveTV, record, and schedule shows without any problems. The LiveTV issue only happens when I try to do client server relationship. I have TSMux with multiple recording enabled on both the server and the client.

Been playing with this for about a month and half and I literally don't have any hair left. In case one of the subs is wondering: the reason why I went with Vista 64 is as follows I wanted to have a computer with enough memory that could handle a large video sharing since I have five kids and four grandkids living in the home. I have a gig network throughout the house and it is wired not wireless.

Enclosed please find client and server files. Sorry for being wordy!

black screen when viewing Live TV, new install, winxp hauppauge 250/350
Posted by: darktrooper - 2010-05-27, 12:39 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Hello...hoping someone can help me with this issue.

I have a Hauppauge 250/350 tv tuner card that I bought used (hence no WinTV). I wanted to try setting up gbpvr just to watch one analog channel (4) because that's what I backfeed a video source into our coax on.

When I run Tuningassitant.exe I can see the video on channel 4 but when I launch PVRX2 and go to live TV I only get a black screen (the source has no audio so I don't know if that's working or not). I've searched the forums here for other situations like mine but nothing I've found seems to solve my issue.

I'm hoping that the attached logs might contain the answer but so far I'm not seeing the issue. I've tried changing codecs and any other setting I can find but so far no luck.

  gbpvrCLI Formatting Tuner Status possible?
Posted by: martint123 - 2010-05-26, 09:36 PM - Forum: Slimm GB-PVR and GBPVRcli - Replies (2)

After a few days of messing around, I now have the gbpvr server machine getting pending, recording, and recorded data from gbpvrcli along with running or hibernated - these get converted to images and dumped to my NAS (for when server is hibernated). In turn, these are displayed on my recently acquired joggler which is close to the TV (unlike the server).

The only downside for me is the appearance of the tuner status page - with the others you can left and right justify the name and date/time with the title,-45 method - but for tuner status it seems all crushed to the left.

Is there any way to tidy up the alignment of the tuners and their status's please??

cheers
Martin

  Config crashing.
Posted by: JP23 - 2010-05-26, 07:32 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi,

I'm getting the following error when starting config:

[Image: attachment.php?attachmentid=26591&stc=1&d=1274901621]

When I exit config I get an unhandled exception message which is in the attached text file.

Any idea how I can fix this?

This channel is currently encrypted, except... it isn't
Posted by: hpmaxim - 2010-05-26, 05:39 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hello,

I'm having trouble with GB-PVR 1.4.7. I'm trying to use it to control my TV Tuner card (a Woot special). I think its a Pinnacle PCTV HD PCI card. My machine is a several month old Win 7 Pro x64 box. As far as I'm viewing ClearQAM directly off my cable system.

When I try to tune in a channel I will sometimes get "This channel is currently encrypted" with a bargraph showing 0 signal and 0 quality. The channel isn't encrypted. Sometimes it happens immediately, other times it happens after viewing for a while. Sometimes I can cure it by quitting LiveTV and restarting, sometimes I can't. Sometimes I can cure it by leaving GB-PVR and sometimes I can't. Sometimes I can cure it by resetting the GB-PVR recording service, and sometimes I can't. Sometimes I can cure it by rebooting and sometimes I can't. Whenever the process is interrupted, say because Windows Firewall wants permission to do something, it will usually give me the channel is currently encrypted. Also, sometimes after encountering this, if you can get it to work again, the channels will be messed up. i.e. the same 5 channels will repeat over and over and over again over all the channels (this can be cured by rebooting, and ONLY rebooting).

I was initially thinking maybe its the video card, but Windows Media Center doesn't seem to have these problems (of course it has other problems, like needing a cable card to watch basic cable channels). So I'm pretty confident this is a software issue. I'm pretty much at my wit's end, could someone please suggest something useful?

thanks!

Windows Vista SP1 with Hauppauge 2250. GB-PVR 1.4.7

I've gone through the GB-PVR setup, I've done the scan and all the correct channels were detected. But, when I go to map them, there is no picture in the preview, only audio. Mapped one, went to try to watch but again no picture, just the audio
