Hi all,
I have a remote PC (XP Pro) which I use by RDP. It has an Hauppauge PVR 350 + Hauppage software installed and GB-PVR. There is a grabber which collect data from a Dutch TV guide.
On my desktop PC I have GB-PVR installed as a client. I can see the TV guide, no problem there. But there is no live TV. Somehow it looks like the channels of GB-PVR don't match the channels of Hauppauge WinTV2000. With RDP I can use WinTV2000 on the remote machine, it works well. I have all the channels installed by automatic search.
How can I make the local client GB-PVR show live TV?

Ever since I installed the digital Tuner (USB model) I now need to do a daily reboot or restart of GBPVR

In these logs at 7:30pm tonight 19th May 2010 (newstime) I tried to start it again. PC has been sleeping all day. Can you see anything in the logs?

After reading the different postings on this issue i haven't found any solution. therefore I post it.

1. problem: on Win7 I have a running GB-PVR (1.4.7). I have used the Channel Logo Tool but this don't produce any logos in the /media/channellogo directory.

2. problem: when I then produce my own .jpg files in this directory, with the exact same name as the Channel : channel = RTL2 ; logo file = RTL2.jpg they don't appear in the TV guide

I have tried different combinations of logo file names without luck. I also tried to find the log file for the tool but can't localize it.

Has anyone experienced a problem with double keypresses when using a remote? I'm using the same hardware I've had for almost two years, but since I upgraded to Win 7, each keypress on the remote seems to register twice, making navigation difficult. This only happens in GB-PVR; Hulu seems to function normally.

I'm using the remote receiver of my Hauppauge 2250, and I've installed the Hauppauge remote software. This worked flawlessly under XP.

The upgrade to Win 7 has caused many problems, and I've solved almost all of them, but this one has me stumped.

I have comskip just mark and not cut commercials. So far this works great. But if I record shows back to back comskip only works on the 2nd show. For example if I record 2 shows:
Show A: 7:30pm
Show B: 8:00pm
Comskip only works the Show B 8:00pm show.

So basically I would like to know if there is a way to schedule comskip to run at a certain time, say 1:05 am? So instead of running after each recording it would scan my Recorded TV folder and run at 1:05am.

I've been having a few problems with Moviewiz recently. I understand from other posts that you're busy at the moment, and I'm not requesting a quick fix for these issues, but it would be fantastic if you could look into them when you have the time.

The biggest problem is with titles not being recognized despite the filenames being exact matches for the name on IMDB. Often Moviewiz will return some obscure short film, or series with the same or similar title despite the year being different. In almost every case, when clicking on 'Find Alternatives', the correct result is the first on the list.

Here's some examples of exact filenames, minus extensions, so hopefully you can reproduce the problem:

In the Loop (2009)
No Country For Old Men (2009)
Sate of Play (2009)
This is England (2006)
Back to the Future (1985)
Rise of the Footsoldier (2007)

The second issue is with image lookups from themoviedb.org. I'm getting a lot of backdrops returned, rather than posters. Backdrops are better than no image, but I think they should be last resort, and posters are available from themoviedb, and always come above backdrops on the list when performing a manual lookup.

I am new to gbpvr and came across it while trying to find a product to install on my whs ex495 that will simply record my tv shows.

I don't know much about gbpvr yet but what I am looking for is a web EPG that will allow me to setup a TV recording. Is there anything out there like this?

Also, i would need to have gbpvr setup on my whs machine. I am not going to use this machine to view the programs just record and then host them. Is this possible and how would one set that up?

I just set up my Hauppauge HVR 900H and although I can scan channels and they work perfectly in the "digital channel mapping" screen, pvrx2 refuses to show any channels saying there is no signal?!

Any thoughts?

I've been using a linux machine as a router for years. Recently I noticed that download speeds were 4x slower on Windows 7 clients compared to XP clients. I shutdown the linux machine and reconfigured my network the to use the router functionality in my IP phone ATA instead. Now my Windows 7 machines are as fast as the XP machines.

My assumption was that my old linux distribution couldn't handle IPV6 so I disabled it on the Windows 7 systems but that had no effect. I also tried to turn off Windows 7 tcp autotuning also without any effect.

I can see that many commercial routers have had firmware updates to make them Windows 7 compatible. I'm curious what changes were made to the embedded linux config to become Windows 7 compatible?

Considering I no longer have needs for a blazingly fast router, I may just retire the linux box permanently and keep my current config. I am curious to know what Windows 7 packets have that was causing a 4x slowdown.

My MVP, after a period of sitting on the shelf, now when its powered and connected to the network, just says "Checking Ethernet Connectivity" and thats it, nothing more.

I've plugged it directly into the router the Media Centre is plugged into, and the router can not see the MAC address of the MVP.

Question: Is the MVP toast?
