  Egreat Won't Play Back Programs
Posted by: LewE - 2010-05-17, 07:30 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (19)

I am in process of trying to get GBPVR to work with Verizon FIOS, recording local broadcast channels via ClearQAM with Hauppauge 1600 and 2250 capture cards. I just went through a complete channel scan for each of the capture cards and mapped the channels this morning.

I can play back the programs I record (both sound and video are OK) on the PC where GBPVR runs. If I try to play the recorded programs on another set using an EGreat to drive the TV, I get either picture and no sound or sometimes the screen just goes black with no sound. At times when the screen goes black I notice that the PC is downloading to the EGreat at only about 1Mbps while if it is downloading a program that can be seen on the EGreat TV it downloads at approximately 15Mbps. All recordings can ve viewed on the PC that recorded them.

To add to the confusion, I can record a program on a channel and then view it via GBPVR on the same PC that GBPVR is running on. If I try to watch the station (live, not a recording) inside GBPVR I get the following screen.

This is driving me nuts. Can anyone help me?

  Community-WS\TV Recordings Missing mmc.xml

When attempting to use the Community-WS skin I get the following error:

Where can I get the missing xml file?

Channel Mappings Only Show Primary Channel
Posted by: LewE - 2010-05-17, 03:42 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (10)

I'm sure I'm using the wrong terminology here. I'm new to the world of QAM and Channel Mapping.

I have found that when I do a Channel Scan, the results include two general types of channels: those that end with (000) and those that end with (AC3). The only ones that seem to map to EPG stations are those ending with (000). It would be very helpful if we could filter the results list to show only the (000) channels. This would reduce considerably the number of channels we have to scroll through when mapping.

Strange FreeView NZ (Satellite) audio problem
Posted by: siliconaudio - 2010-05-17, 11:18 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

For some reason, all the channles on the Optus D1 12456H transponder (TV3, TV4, Prime, etc.) have glitchy sound. All channels on the 12483H transponder (TV1, TV2, TVNZ 6 & 7 etc.) are absolutely fine.

This has only really been a problem since I upgraded to Windows 7. Not sure what could be different between the two transponders. I'm getting good signal & quality from both.

What could possibly be causing this? I have tried different audio codecs and BDA multiplexers with the exact same results.

Recording stops on logoff, but status says still recording.
Posted by: ken_gledhill - 2010-05-17, 07:47 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi

Just started using GBPVR a week or so ago with a WinXP box (SP3 on Core 3 Duo E6850 at 3 GB, 3GB ram).

The card is a USB TVR900H. Using it mainly to record Freeview.

So far I really like the program!

Recording works file if account stays logged in (or off). However, on logoff writing to disk stops. When logging in again, GBPVR reports recording is still taking place, but no more is written to disk. I have searched the forums and web and cannot find an answer.

Any ideas?

Cheers, Ken

  Can't Play After Resume
Posted by: MarkD - 2010-05-16, 10:02 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I have a problem playing recordings after the computer wakes from either suspend or hibernate. This is a fresh install of 1.0407 on my new machine (see signature) with a copy of the GBPVR.db3 file moved over from the old machine.
I can play mpeg recordings on a fresh boot, but not after a resume; GBPVR comes up ok, the menu works, but when I try to play a recording I get a frozen screen, looks like the first frame of the recording.

I noticed this in config.exe-native.log, but don’t know how to fix it.

Unable to set GB-PVR Recording Service in interactive mode in windows 7
Posted by: Azimuth - 2010-05-16, 09:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

when I check the "Allow Service to interact with desktop" under service logon options, I get the following in the event log:
"The GB-PVR Recording Service service is marked as an interactive service. However, the system is configured to not allow interactive services. This service may not function properly."

This also prevents the MVPTrayIcon plugin from working.

Has anyone else seen this or have any idea on how to resolve it?

  BDA Multiplexer
Posted by: skycyclepilot - 2010-05-16, 12:29 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I'm using an HVR2250. I have two capture sources set up with BDA Recording Plugins - QAM tuning - ATSC type.

I've read what I can find about the BDA Multiplexer setting on the Misc2 tab, but I don't understand the difference between the three options - Microsoft DVR-MS, TS Mux, and full TS.

Can someone briefly explain the benefits of each, and recommend which one I should select? So much to learn...

  Quality Setting For Recordings
Posted by: skycyclepilot - 2010-05-16, 12:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

My cable provider just switched us to digital. The files are now saved in .ts format - they play just fine. However, I seem to recall a setting that allowed you to choose the quality of a recording when you set a recording up. There doesn't seem to be one now. Am i correct, and if so, why is that?
