  Splash Screen
Posted by: zaldwaik - 2010-05-14, 03:21 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (5)

I have two PCHs and use them through wired and wireless connection. When I start gbpvr, there is always a delay, the length depends on whether I am using wired/wireless link and if the server drives are at sleep. The family complains about nothing happening (blank screen for 5-20 seconds) before the interface loads. Is there a way to show a splash screen, or something similar, while gbpvr loads?

Thanks a lot.

  HVR 1950 and digital QAM
Posted by: ccurrie - 2010-05-14, 02:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Howdy.

I've got a channel that Hauppuage WinTV shows the channel fine, my TV shows it fine (111.1 in case you're interested), however when I try to map the channel, I get perfect picture with terrible sound.

Before I get home and start hammering away at it I was hoping somebody could point me in the right direction - I have tried looking through the documentation, but I haven't seen any FAQ that really describes what I'm seeing (and hearing, as it is).

I was going to try installing the AC3 decoder in the hopes that this is what is causing it (since I'm in Canada), but I don't like installing unless I have to.

Has anyone else encounterd this?

I'm running Windows 7 on a Toshiba laptop with nVidia.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers and thanks,
Chris

Do I need to run a certain version of mc2xml, or can I use the latest version from the mc2xml website?

  Pinnacle PCTV Dual 2001e Diversity Stick antennas
Posted by: DKF - 2010-05-14, 12:17 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Having built myself a full PVR for the lounge room, using a cheap no-name DVB-T tuner, I decided I needed a dual tuner to record one show and watch another. Bought a Pinnacle PCTV Dual 2001e Diversity Stick as the only Dual unit I could find. Didn't know what the 'Diversity' bit meant until I opened the packet. What it means is two antenna inputs, two little stub antennas and it has some 'ASD' Automatic Signal Detection to pick best antenna signal or supposedly combine the two signals somehow. Supposed to work with just one antenna connected. The native PCTV supplied software can do picture in picture or record one and watch another from single antenna connected.

GB-PVR is much better program but I have this problem.

Can setup the two tuners OK using 2000e selection. Recording a show uses Tuner1 OK, watch a show uses Tuner 2 OK - all from single antenna input BUT only one of these at a time. While Tuner1 is recording, if I try to watch another show on Tuner2 , it looks like all is working as far as GB-PVR is concerned, but Tuner 2 has zero signal. If I connect stub antenna to the second antenna input on the DVB-T stick then I get signal on Tuner 2. I only get 2 channels on the stub antenna so I need to use the single outdoor antenna (or install MORE splitters).

Realise this is not GB-PVR's fault, and probably more about Pinnacle BDA drivers. Is there some way driver can be manipulated or GV-PVR can fix this antenna input selection.

  XMBC on NMT's
Posted by: Sheik Yerbouti - 2010-05-14, 08:24 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (8)

Some nice development for NMT's: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...300&page=1. I hope this will have positive effects on mvpmcx2 as well, for example:
- All files being playable (including DVD's), no need for mono or difficult setup of windows shares;
- Animated menu's / 3D rendering.

Pure speculation, of course. What are your thoughts about this (in this early stage of XMBC on NMT), Martin?

  Would Somebody Please Help Me With A WizRenameRecording Problem???
Posted by: skycyclepilot - 2010-05-14, 05:02 AM - Forum: SearchWiz & MovieWiz - Replies (1)

I just did a clean Windows 7 installation, followed by a clean GBPVR installation. I've been having trouble with WizRenameRecording not renaming any files at all.

I've set GBPVR up a hundred times, and never had a problem before.

Here is what my postprocessing.bat looks like...

WizRenameRecording {show}{[ - ]}{episode}

And here is what the log file looks like, after Wiz fails to rename a file...

===========================================================
WizRenameRecording - Rename recording files and db entries.
Run on: 5/14/2010 12:32 AM (v0.2.0.3)
===========================================================

Parameters:
[0]: {show}{[
[1]: -
[2]: ]}{episode}

ERROR: Invalid parameters. Two expected.
WizRenameRecording -help for Syntax.
Complete: 5/14/2010 12:32 AM

I can manually run Wiz, and it renames the files just fine, using the exact syntax of my postprocessing.bat file.

Does anybody have any idea what I might be doing wrong???

  Setting up HVR-1600 on a dishnetworks PVR questions
Posted by: morganboy - 2010-05-14, 03:38 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have a Hauppauge WinTv-HVR-1600, running Windows XP, trying to configure GBPVR to use a s-video input from Dishnetworks PVR, I've gone thru all the setups docs, can't figure what I'm doing wrong. When I get to the Digital source configuration page , I pick off my card type, there is country only has one option All countries, Frequencies, only option is Default Broadcast Frequencies, I no options for board number, source, my direct recording configuration screen doesn't look like whats in the documentation. Is this a bug, a new release of software and the docs haven't been updated. How do I setup GBPVR to use my s-video? Sorry have I've missed something, but I've looked and searched the net and your forum for an answer. Is using the s-video as and input not supported with my card and GBPVR?

I use to have Win 7 Ultimate but I switched to Win 7 Pro.

System. dual core 3 GHz
Window 7 Pro

Hauppauge 1250 card with recent drivers

  Can Record but can't View
Posted by: s_daykin - 2010-05-13, 09:20 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

I have everything set up and can record programs at will ok but whenever I try to view the channels "live" I get "No signal detected"

I have had to move my aerial tonight as the Oxford Transmitter has just gone up in flames (literally!)
As such I have retuned. The tuners are working fine as it records ok, I just can't watch live.

Which setting have I missed to tell the live part about the channel changes?

Thanks
Simon
