I have tried to use the configuration as a WinTV 250 (which system says is installed when box is checked), and I have tried to use it as a PVR150. When I choose the 250, I get nothing on the live tv screen, it just stays black and the processor is hogged, and I have to use Task Manager to kill it. When I choose it as a 150, I am able to at least see the guide information for the channel its on, but no audio or video and can easily close out of it.
I have attached the filtercheck log. Any help is appreciated.
i was torn between sagetv, beyondtv, and gb-pvr but finally took the plunge into gb-pvr. I have a slight problem with my installation and I was wondering if this community would be able to help me. This is what I am using:
gateway gm5260 (specs here
dish 322
xp pro (replaced standard xp mce 2005)
wintv pvr-150mce (came on pc)
gateway mce remote (looks like the Hauppauge MCE Remote except it's black & says gateway on it)
I have also remapped my native MCE keys using this, which helped for some buttons. For some reason I cannot change channels in Live TV, the program guide at the bottom changes but the actual channel does not... The remote works great with the movies and music option so maybe it is my sensor on the box? Under "capture sources" i have mce 2005 ir blaster plugin selected and under "settings" i have "my device" as my profile, "blaster 1" (have tried "both blaster") and checked the first 2 options. Under "DVD" I also have MCE remote selected...
Hi all
I was delighted yesterday when the Nova S2 HD eventually turned up from Amazon - installed it - recognised it no problem then disappointed when it found absolutely no channels. Tried it in Linux - found it - correct drivers - still no channels.
I was running it on a LNB with quite a long line so I put it on another LNB which had a line that only ran a few metres from the dish. This time it found 48 channels (this is on a Sky UK dish) in total, most of them encrypted. The few it found that weren't encrypted I tried to play (in its own software) and it just said "no signal".
All very odd. Anyway after much playing about I submitted a return with Amazon last night as I think the tuner was defective.
Now I'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs looking at loads of different cards but keep coming back to this one.
How well does this card work for others? I'm hoping if I buy it again, it'll just be a one off.
I know a friend who has a freeview card with 7MC and he has to rerun the scan twice to get all the channels occasionally - is this the same with satellite or should it get them all first time?
To save space, would it be practical to store the movie thumbnail images in a compressed (eg. JPG) format in the database and in memory?
File and memory space savings would be considerable (75% savings gain is not unreasonable). It's also likely to result in file load (and during re-sort) performance improvements due to the significant file size reduction.
I am setting up a new client. On this client, I can watch recordings but live tv goes to a black screen and then back to menu. Any ideas would be much appreciated! I have attached my log.
Are full, fit and crop zoom modes working as expected for you on 16x9 files? I've just got a HD PVR hooked up to HD cable box and it doesn't work the way I want but I don't want to change things that others are using.
Hi I'm looking to set up a DVR using a PC and GB-PVR software and need advice on what card to buy. I have Dish satellite with the 322 receiver and 2 regular 32" tvs. My problem is that I am not sure if I would use the same type card that a cable tv system uses. I see some cards say they are not for digital satellite. Does that mean Dish and Direct TV or are they referring to the C and K band types? I'm not really clear on all the different formats the cards say they can be used for or what format Dish and Direct TV use. Thanks.
This is possibly a feature request for your next version.
GBpvr reports a "Missing VMR9 renderer" error message when config is set to EVR and the EVR is bad or missing.
that had me chasing my tail for a while, please it would be nice if a problem with EVR reported itself as a "missing EVR renderer" message box instead.
note the VMR9 render was at all times installed and operational.
