  pending log file
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2010-03-04, 08:33 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

The 'pending' file in my GBPVR\Logs directory has grown to almost 120MB and has every recording ever scheduled in it. Can I and/or should I just delete it from time to time? Or is this file supposed to get groomed automatically?

Computer no longer enters standby on it's own
Posted by: teookie - 2010-03-04, 07:23 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (14)

My GPVR computer used to always enter standby after 1 hr of inactivity, and then turn back on when required to make recordings. Lately though, for roughly the past 3 weeks, it's just staying on all the time. At first I thought it was because I was recording the Olympics, but with that event over I now know that's not what's causing it.

The only thing I think I might have done to cause this problem is to start using a concurrent user hack to allow a laptop to remote into the computer w/o logging off the current user. The weird thing is that this hack was performed over a year ago; I used it a bunch at first and then left it alone for a good 11 months before using it again.

I've checked task manager for rogue processes, but don't see anything unusual (doesn't mean I know what half the stuff in there is). I just noticed that the computer isn't going into screen saver either, and I currently don't have PVRX2 running - so I don't think it is a GBPVR problem.

If anyone has some tips of things to check, I'm all ears!

Thanks in advance!

  General functionality
Posted by: kamisama - 2010-03-04, 10:01 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hello!
I am sorry if this is written in manual, but I couldn't find it. There are so many settings, plugins and utilities in this software...

Here is my situtation:
I have two Pinnacle PCTV Dual Hybrid tuner cards with 4 channels in total.
4 different channels have to be recorded every day the same time (this is done by scheduling). The first confusion is that those recorded files have to be written in my folder by hours. In iuVCR soft this can be done easily by setting max file time or size. The feature is called "segmentation".
The second thing is that those files have to be automatically named by date and time.
And the last thing is that when I playback any recorded file there have to be recording time and date placed in specified spot. This is called Timestamp in iuVCR.

Is it possible to do these things in GB-PVR? How?

Thank you in advance for your help!

  Schedules Direct WebException
Posted by: Chet - 2010-03-04, 05:03 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

My schedules direct stopped working all of a sudden. I have checked my Schedules Direct account and re-added the line-up. I have included the error I'm getting below.

Code:
2010-03-03 22:28:04.875 ERROR [5] Error UpdateEPG()'ing: System.Net.WebException: The remote name could not be resolved: 'webservices.schedulesdirect.tmsdatadirect.com' at System.Net.WebClient.UploadDataInternal(Uri address, String method, Byte[] data, WebRequest& request) at System.Net.WebClient.UploadData(Uri address, String method, Byte[] data) at System.Net.WebClient.UploadData(String address, String method, Byte[] data) at GBPVR.Backend.Common.Zap2itEpgReader.x7174d5399cba81ee(IEpgUpdateProgressCallback x421ce789b9741187, DateTime xdc88f59e43b65f7f, DateTime x33db96d2cea26583) at GBPVR.Backend.Common.Zap2itEpgReader.LoadChannels(IEpgUpdateProgressCallback callback) at GBPVR.Backend.Common.xbdfb880686f2538b.x52e8ddd0b9bc8c68(xda34526142ca690b x347261624b519e9a, IEpgUpdateProgressCallback x421ce789b9741187) at Config.xca74b9c9b310df0b.xcba1f05fb5a46d5f()

  USB CI/CAM reader
Posted by: kylebrophy - 2010-03-04, 03:47 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Hi,

Ive been using GB-PVR with Multidec for a while now using an Infinity USB card reader in conjuction with Acamd MD addin.

This seems to be a bit erratic - and i thought id try to source a Hauppauge WinTV CI unit - which should theoretically be more compatible as all my capture cards are Hauppauge. However it would seem that i cannot find any suppliers of this unit in NZ (well not so far).

I have a CAM in our Topfield STB - so i thought id try via this method than the Infinity reader.

Does anyone out there know of any other brands that have a USB CAM Module (i guess thats what its called) - that will work with Hauppauge capture cards. All the CI/CAM addons ive found so far will only work when directly connected to the equivlent model capture card.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated Smile

  Firewall Ports on Router
Posted by: steeb - 2010-03-04, 12:36 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (3)

Dear all,

just been messing about with my router adding some ports/deleting old etc and found:

MVP Control for ports 8300..8337

and

MVP Stream for ports 5900..5906

still use MVP's but are these still relevant? (Think they've been there for a long long time)

Cheers

Steeb

deleted pending recording stays red in search guide
Posted by: speising - 2010-03-03, 07:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

hi,
it seems that if a pending recording is deleted, "search guide" does not recognize that. the timeslot stays red and is not "clickable".
btw, it would be good if a scheduled recording cound be edited (eg. deleted) from that list just like from the guide, since it can be *added*, too.

  video card confusion
Posted by: nitrogen_widget - 2010-03-03, 04:00 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (10)

I have a Radian HD4650 & a Geforce 8400GS PCI-E video cards.
Even though the geforce has lower specs accross the board, my cpu is lower using it for anything HD.

OTA HDTV, HD mkv's ect.

The difference isn't huge but it's noticeable on my single core CPU when it comes to 1080 content.

Is it drivers or do the geforce cards just work that much better than the radeon cards when it comes to XP & HD?
