  Both SD and WS together?
Posted by: steeb - 2010-03-02, 11:38 AM - Forum: Community Skin - No Replies

Dear all,

is it possible to have 2 instances of CS installed on the same server? SD & WS? Or will this cause a conflict, particularly with the skin plugin?

cheers

Steeb

1.4.7 startup problem - blank screen
Posted by: sjm - 2010-03-02, 10:36 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Hi All

I've just resurrected my old XP pc with SP3 and the latest directX and have a problem running the new program.

It configures Ok and I can scan channels using my Freecom USB DVB-T stick, but when I start the main program, the window border is drawn, but the contents of the window are transparent and I can see the desktop through it.

I waited half an hour with no progress. The program closes OK so it has not locked up.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Steve

  fanart

After testing, I assume there is no way to display fanart in the Video Library unless using a "slick" type Menu? I also assume fanart won't work for the Music Library?

  Channel.exe channel changing program
Posted by: Puckdropper - 2010-03-02, 05:52 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (1)

[Mods: feel free to move this post to the appropriate place. I think this is where it best fits.]

I found a .exe channel changing program on http://computersmithery.com/Channel.aspx (Please read the directions there for getting channel.exe to communicate with WinLIRC.)

It solved my problem of needing something to talk to WinLIRC via GBPVR, but I soon discovered my setup had a few issues where occasional digits would be lost. As a result, I've added logging and timeouts to the source code and have eliminated (worked around) the problem.

channel_2.1.3.zip contains the updated source code (written in VB).
channel_2.1.3.exe.zip contains just channel.exe, which is what most people probably want.

New NMT Install - Goofy Display
Posted by: Firetoad - 2010-03-02, 03:51 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (5)

I am probably just having some horrible search-fu right now, but I looked everywhere and can't find a solution to my problem.

I just installed an NMT in place of a MVP. GBPVR starts up just fine, but the display is HUGE! The display is all out of proportion (background image vs. text vs. date) and is massive like a large print book or something similar. The menu works just fine with the MVP, but not the NMT. I have played around with the settings in the NMT Setup, TV section such as Zoom and can't fix it. I have tried the blue skin and it does the same thing.

Any ideas? (I am sure it is probably something simple, but my brains have left me for the evening. Big Grin )

  More Robust Recording Process
Posted by: Satori - 2010-03-01, 08:19 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

It seems like I have had issues with recording programs on occasion. It is my hardware's fault, not GBPVR's. I have not been able to figure out the source, but I suspect it is reception related.

I was hoping there could be more ways GBPVR tries to record a program when it fails for whatever reason. It could be as simple as a log message that says "program not recording" so I could be searching for the string to take some action. It could be as complex as GBPVR trying a different tuner or initiating a restart. It could even be something in the config file that says:

<ProgramnotRecording>1</ProgramnotRecording>

where 0=do nothing (default behavior), 1=reboot, 2=retry with next tuner in config, 3=popup message, etc.

I am sure everyone will say "fix your HW" and I am working on it, but it would also be nice if the recording behavior were more able to handle issues.

  Checking New A110 Install
Posted by: steeb - 2010-03-01, 07:44 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (12)

Dear all,

sorry if I'm missing stuff I could have found on threads but couldn't! Also apologies for rambling post:

Backed up config.xml!!!

Followed Dummies Guide to install.

A110 (no USB or internal HDD)

Initial changes to PCH:

Setup running as Composite PAL (connected by S-Video) in 4:3

Firmware :01-17-091202-15-POP-403-000
Kernel v :15-POP

NMT install selected all options apart from install GBPVR.

After install showing no errors found new mvpmc share in default path wasn't shared and couldn't share because my mvpmc share for mvpmc containing dongle.bin (for MVP's) was in different location. Copied this dongle.bin over to new mvpmc folder, deleted old mvpmc folder and enabled share on new folder. (Checked MVP's still booting, OK).

Then selected Network Browser from Media Source and navigated to mvpmc share on Media Server and selected. Blue button got me to GB-PVR.html. Selected this giving me 3 options. Selected 2nd option GBPVR via network browser.

This loaded GB-PVR with Mayhem skin (sort of, more later).

Used power button to get to NMT Menu. Went to setup screen then Network Share and browsed for mvpmc share, added as a configured share.

So now from boot up I have this:

Then selection 4th option with blue button gives me 1 option of GBPVR.html to select, when done I get this

from which I select the 1st option.

Which gives me GB-PVR.

Which unfortunately looks like this

With strange left hand sided vertical artifact break up on menu.

I just wanted to make sure I had all the other steps correct before finding out why it is not displaying correctly. Unless of course I've missed a post entirely! But being a 'newbie' to whole NMT thing..........

Cheers

Steeb

  No guide/no live tv
Posted by: motodude - 2010-03-01, 07:21 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi, is there anyone on here that can help me get my GB-PVR up and running? As far as I know, I have it setup correctly but In can't get it to bring up the TV guide or live TV. When I click either one of those 2 functions nothing happens. All other functions seem to work fine. I will be using a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1600 in ATSC/clear QAM mode only. Also my channels seem to be mapped.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
