I've been having problems playing mp4 video files with 6 channel AAC audio. Audio plays through the wrong speakers - the center channel comes out through the front right speaker for example. I also only seem to get 5 channels, rather than 6 - nothing comes out of the surround left speaker.
Using this information I've managed to work around the problem to some extent, using the mixing matrix in AC3Filter to redirect the channels to the correct speakers (as far as I can tell), but this is not really a satisfactory solution as
1: I'm getting 5 channels rather than 6 (I think it's the LFE channel missing)
2: I have to manually activate a preset in AC3 filter every time I play one of these files.
I've tried both CoreAAC and monogramAAC filters, with the same result.
Surround sound (spdif out) works fine with all other files.
I have my new HTPC together with Win 7 pro x64 with an i3 540 running nice and quiet and smooth.
The issue is I have a harmony one remote and my old sensor for the keyboard/remote which had mouse and keyboard ps2 connectors doesn't work on this new machine.
I bought an hauppauge 2250 with the remote thinking I could use the sensor, but now I am wondering, how do you boot the machine with the remote?
Does anyone know of a fairly simple way to do this? I am willing to buy a new sensor or keyboard or remote to get this to work. I read most of the remote guide, but did not find anything too current. I know my last system came together 5 or 6 years ago.
I've out grown the four ports on my linksys router. A while back I bought a Linksys switch and it worked fine for a little bit and quit. I got it replaced and it quit after a little bit again. GRRRR! Ok, I got a cheapie Trendnet that was well reviewed on NewEgg. It's worked well for four months or so, but now it's becoming flaky. Basically it just slows way down. I have an Xbox, Popcornhour, and a PC on it and they all slow down. No errrors are given, transfers between them are just dog slow. If I unplug the switch and plug it back in the wahlah, it works for a while and then things get slow again.
Now I'm annoyed, is there a decent quality reasonably priced switch out there?
The commercial duty 3com SuperStacks are on fleaBay cheap, are they worth looking at?

Just installed gbpvr 1.4.7. When trying to save options in config.exe, the program hangs. I was able to make some changes directly to config.xml. What tags do I put in to add a capture source directly to config.xml?

I have an Avermedia M150 Plus Capture card, GBPVR recongnizes it, but when i try to open the application, A window pops up that is supposed to be it but all i see is a window outline and the the desktop behind it.

One problem I have, when running procedures to stream live, overseas TV from the Internet, is that the player window seems to "take over" the system when it is waiting. This is usually not a problem, but occasionally causes hangs when my procedures need to briefly control the UI (for example, to "click a button" on a TV network's website).
As long as the player is inactive, I can give control to a browser window by briefly "hiding" the PVRx2 window. If the player is active, however, this has no effect. Does the player have a different process name from PVRx2.exe?
This is particularly a problem when the player is waiting to play the file that I am streaming. It won't give up control of the UI, which means the "button" never gets "clicked," which means the file never appears, which means the player has nothing to play, but it won't give up control, which means... (insert neurotic fixation here).
I seem to have commands being issued when I don't want them to. This shows in 1) video playback, when the timeline and PVR controls appear briefly on the screen, and 2) playing live or timeshifted TV, when the channel changes up or down without warning.
1) is never a big deal, and 2) is a minor annoyance with local television. However, because I am using my own procedures to stream live TV from overseas, some of these channels take a long time to load, so 2) becomes rather serious.
I have considered whether this might be the remote or the driver, but I don't think so. I was using the Microsoft driver and, due to conflicts with other devices, switched to the MCE replacement driver. I also replaced my original remote and receiver with a new set. The symptom didn't change in either case. I also took the batteries out of the remote one night, with no luck.
I installed a Hauppauge Nova-T (90002) DVB-T PCI card with the latest driver from Hauppauge. I am running Windows 7 64bit. Windows Media Center picked it up fine and installed all the channels and EPG. GBPVR will not recognise it. I have ran FilterCheck and checked the bda.ini file and listed them below. I cannot understand why it does not pick it up, any ideas?

I have a HD-PVR and am using the included remote and blaster, with the haupblast.exe. Other than {channel}, is there any other parameters that I need to include as when I click on live tv or use the guide to select a channel, it displays whatever channel the STB is tuned into then about 5 seconds later it goes and changes the channel to what I want to watch so gb-pvr thinks that the hd-pvr has stopped and just goes back to the main menu or guide. So apparently I need it to change the channel before anything is displayed in gb-pvr, how to I correct this?
