Skip MDAPI and interface directly to ACAMD
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2010-01-27, 07:55 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (6)

The mdapi filter is an old one-channel filter and should be scrapped. I have tested DVBDREAM which interfaces directly to ACAMD and I have successfully recorded 3 shows simultanously (decrypted on-the-fly while recording), using acamd and newcs. This prooves that acamd (and maybe other softcams) can decrypt more than one stream at a time, and while dvbdream can do it, it must be possible for gbpvr also Big Grin.

This way we would not need other software addons to record/watch multi encrypted channels, and that again makes things more easy to install/maintain. Ofcource there is nothing wrong with using a HW cam if one wishes so.

Sub, is there any chance you can delay the next release until these changes are implemented?

  Disable QAM recordings on MVP
Posted by: Mr. Camaro - 2010-01-27, 04:31 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (9)

Now that I've got my GBPVR recording both analog and I found that I'm sometimes accidentally selecting a TS file for playback on the MVP. This results in a crash that takes several minutes to recover from.

Would it be possible to remove or disable the play button from the MVP when there is a recording that is not playable on the MVP such as a QAM recording in TS format.

Also, could there be an option in the config so that any recordings that were done in digital would be marked on the main screen. For example all digital recordings could be prefixed with asterisk. If not that maybe the text could be in a different color. The idea would be to show MVP users that they can't play these shows.

I've got a Popcorn Hour and I'm looking to get either another one or possibly a HD MVP if they ever come out. However, even if I do that, I'm sure I will re-use the MVP by moving it to my kids TV or something.

  Wrap around on Record Screen
Posted by: Mr. Camaro - 2010-01-27, 04:20 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Here is a small update I would like to see.

When you select a program to record, then decide that you don't want to record this program, you have to press down several times to get to the cancel button. In many if not all the other screens on GBPVR you can press up and the selection will "wrap around" and jump to the last button. I'm constantly opening this screen and thinking I should be able to press up to get to the bottom of the pop-up.

  Multiple Guide Sources
Posted by: coppelltx - 2010-01-27, 01:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

How to set up multiple guide sources using mc2xml. I have hvr 1600 with qam, ntsc cable (TWC) and a hdpvr(DTV) giving me 3 sources. Right now I have C:EPG/TWC and C:EPG/DTV folders set up to collect guide data but I don't know how to pull it together. Basic cable and QAM share the same data base, they just use different channel numbers.
This works but I have to manually go to these folders and execute mc2xml every 10 days or so. I set up UpdateEPG.bat with both directories above. Not sure this is the right way. Suggestions?

C:
cd "C:\EPG\DTV"
cd "C:\EPG\TWC"
mc2xml

Asrock Ion 330HT, HDMI to component out?
Posted by: milliond - 2010-01-27, 12:32 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Hello All,

Just took delivery of a brand new Asrock Ion 300HT, running windows 7. Lovely piece of kit. Just what the doctor ordered.

My problem is trying to get it to work with my projector...

My projector is currently connected to my amp(Onkyo TX-SR674) via component out. LCD is connected via HDMI out.
All devices..xbox etc, are using the component in's on AMP, and output to both LCD and Projector.
On this AMP the HDMI inputs cannot display to component outputs(downscale), and that is my problem...if i use the HDMI cable from the Asrock to HDMI in on Amp it will not display onto the projector, only the LCD.
I purchased an HDMI to Component cable like THIS but I cant get it to work. Should this cable work? Am i doing something wrong?

Can anyone PLEASE HELP:confused:

Thanks very much

  Enabling and disabling channels
Posted by: dspdrew - 2010-01-27, 10:18 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

If I go through and disable channels I dont want on the channels tab, do I then have to go through and do it all over again for each Capture Source?

Also, if I disable channels, how can I keep them out of my tv guide schedule?

  Create recordings without folders
Posted by: van helsing - 2010-01-27, 04:32 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Not sure when this changed, but I believe on previous versions of GBPVR in config there was a choice to create recordings without putting the recording in a folder.

I record in DVR-Ms and use Lifextender to remove the commercials. Problem is Lifextender doesn't recognize the recording because it is in a folder. When the recording is removed from the folder, Lifextender then finds the recording and removes the commercials.

Changing Channel Line Up Numbers and Names
Posted by: luttrell1962 - 2010-01-27, 02:35 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (11)

I have a dual tuner soon to be quad, 2 cards and would like to map analog channels say below 100, atsc above 100 qam above 200 and alternate analog above 300 and change the names so I know what tuner I'm using

I can't seem to find where these are mapped out at. A couple of times the atsc mappings have disappeared on me and had to remap them. How can I back this up?

Thanks

  NVIDIA 6200 Settings (running slow/choppy)
Posted by: Atrus - 2010-01-27, 02:14 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hey everyone...I'm back again and hoping you all can help me.

I have the following specs:

Athlon T-Bird 1400
768mb RAM
Hauppauge 1600
NVIDIA GeForce 6200 (AGP, 256mb)
Windows XP Professional
GB PVR 1.4.7

I originally had an ATI Sapphire Radeon 9000. I couldn't get it to output to my archiac CRT 32" TV. I'd just get gibberish. Other than it not working with the TV and it getting REALLY jumpy when the guide popped up, it was pretty good. I tried a bunch of different settings and decoders to no avail.

I just installed the NVIDIA tonight...the great news is that it displays on my TV! The bad news is that playback is pretty choppy, plus for whatever reason even selecting "Live TV" takes a good minute to navigate away from the GVPVR homescreen. It just seems like it's chewing up a lot of CPU.

Can someone please guide me in a good decoder and the settings? I installed the NVIDIA drivers (file name was 196.21_desktop_winxp_32bit_english_whql) I am currently running it in EVR renderer and the decoder is a MainConcept (HCW) MPEG-2. This combo seems to run the best out of what I have installed. Other decoders I can currently choose from are:

ffdshow
nanocosmos MPEG-2
MainConcept (HCW) MPEG-2
Intervideo NonCSS

Any guidance would be really appreciated! I'm pumped to finally see it working (although very choppy) on my TV!

  Pause for music
Posted by: Jaggy - 2010-01-27, 12:17 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (12)

This is driving me nuts & I'm not sure by I seem to remember reading a thread about it sometime in the past but a quick search didn't bring it up & I can't remember it anyway.

When the phone rings I want to be able to pause my music & sometimes (1 in 10) it actually works, but the other 9 times it just starts the next track & then the next track etc. for eack press of the pause button sometimes it will finally pause if I press the pause button enough & when it does if I go back to the original track again & try pausing it again it will then work 9 times out of ten, this happens using both the Hauppauge & A100 remote (but to be fair I only try the A100 remote "after" the Hauppage one doesn't work)
