  Client connectivity to PC monitor with no PC?
Posted by: txinga - 2010-01-14, 01:52 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (4)

Not sure if this is the right forum but here goes...
Is there a thin client out there or other solution that would connect to a PC monitor? I have a 19" LCD monitor with VGA and DVI connections. Would like to put it in one of the rooms with said device. I would like to avoid putting a PC in there as it's the guest room.

Thanks,

T

  New wiki entry: RecoverRecordings
Posted by: pBS - 2010-01-14, 08:09 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (11)

Since my old recover recordings.bat file got deleted in forum maintenance, i made a wiki entry for a more premanent home..

It basically imports lost recording's metadata from the metadata.xml on each file and makes a recording-dump.xml file and mports that into pvrx2...A poor man's Vidimport...Smile The data will look just like it did before as it's same data as it used to be.

A nice new feature is that i added is that it adjusts paths on the fly, so if you for example, changed recording dirs, it will adjust the filename inside to the new path automatically..Big Grin

run from a network drive, it will make them network paths...Big Grin

Enjoy, for times of crisis...Wink

  Internal Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 ATSC -- what BDA do I use?
Posted by: h103 - 2010-01-14, 07:57 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

According to the Dell Digital TV setup wizard screen, my Dell Mini 10 netbook has an internal:
"Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 ATSC Tuner (Dev1 Path0)"

The ATSC version is NOT one of the listed BDA settings. Is there a different setting that I can substitute instead? Thanks!

  Capture device connection
Posted by: georgew - 2010-01-14, 07:41 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

Hi, I am not sure if GBPVR can be used with my hardware setup.
I have connected (via Composite video cables) my HD set-top-box to my PC (Win 7 64-bit) via a VHS to DVD converter made by GadgetGeek, connected to a USB port. Through that connection I can view live TV using the supplied s/w, or VirtualDub, or VLC, all of which recognise the capture device (shows up on the config panel as USB 2863 device for video and WDM 2863 for audio). TV tuning is handled by the set-top-box, the capture device is just that, a capture device that accepts whatever the composite cables feed, either a VCR output or a set-top-box output.
My question is: can I configure GBPVR (and how??) to detect the capture device and use GBPVR features none of the above s/w has?
Any help would be most welcome.
Many thanks
George

  Initial Setup, "No channels found"
Posted by: tstack77 - 2010-01-14, 05:13 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I have been pulling my hair out for the last hour trying to figure out how to get my channels recognized. I got my correct EPG list from SchedulesDirect and have followed whurlston's guide to this roadblock. I'm running on Win7 x64 with an Avermedia Duet A188 tuner.

  crash on stopping a recording
Posted by: gunterhausfrau - 2010-01-14, 03:05 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

PVRX2 crashes, not always, but most of the time when I stop a playback of a recording. I can restart PVRX2 right away and it works just fine. If I let it run to the end of the recording I don't think it crashes, but I usually end the playback before I reach the end so my sample size is much lower. I don't see this same behavior in other videos, just recordings. They are the microsoft recorded TV show format, and I believe I have the most recent updates on windows (so assume the most recent codex?)

I guess I should post logs, but to tell the truth, I'm not sure what I should provide.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

  Initial Setup with Avermedia Duet 188, "unable to start the BDA device"
Posted by: tstack77 - 2010-01-14, 12:11 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I am running on Win7 x64 and am desperate to rid myself of MCE. I followed whurlston's tutorial to setup an ATSC/QAM tuner but the card is not being recognized. I can see it listed with all the other cards in the drop-down box, but when I select 'Only show devices detected in this machine' I get the error 'No know cards detected in this machine'.

Everything worked fine in MCE so I know that it's recognizable and functioning, I just can't get gbpvr to play along.

  draw image border
Posted by: herrmannj - 2010-01-13, 08:48 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (8)

I found that a border is painted outsite and inside of an image. (see attach)

<CompositeImage name="MessageBoxImage" size="70.0,50.0">
<DrawRoundedRect loc="5,5" size="90,90" fillColor="ForwardDiagonal:#00000200-#F0004880" borderColor="MessageBoxBorder" radius="3" borderWidth="1.5"/>
<DrawText text="@text" loc="25,25" size="100,100" textStyle="NormalText" align="Left"/>
</CompositeImage>

shouldnt the border painted outside the filled area ?

  hi-def playback is jerky
Posted by: meganqu - 2010-01-13, 08:41 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

I have a hauppauge hvr1600. gb-pvr records shows just fine and I can play them back fine using the hvr1600 but when I playback using gb-pvr the picture is very jerky. I do have dual video cards, an ati radeon hd 3600 agp and a hd 2400 pci. The problem only occurs on the hd 2400 pci card.

the BDA mux is set to TS mux.
the only video renderer that seems to work for both video cards is EVR. Even though i use VMR9 on the hvr1600 it does not seem to work in gb-pvr playback.

Another minor problem is I would like to run in windowed mode be able to drag it to either screen then go to full screen using alt_enter. When I do that it will always pop over to screen 2 if the "start on second monitor is set:" and pop over to screen 1 if it is not set. I can change the config every time I want to move it but that is a bit of a pain.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Megan
