Egreat M34a takes over a minute to start - is this normal?
Posted by: JP23 - 2010-01-16, 01:46 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (7)

Hi,
Just got an M34A today, I'm a bit surprised at how long it takes to start up, around a minute just to get to the start screen, let alone to get in to GBPVR.

Is this normal, can it me made to go faster?

It seems a bit excessive seeing as my ancient MVP can get in to GBPVR in around 10 seconds.

PVR2 hang if the host is down
Posted by: aiacel - 2010-01-16, 01:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I have one PC configured as host and another as client. If the host is switched off, the PVR2 hangs launching it on the client.

Any advice?

thanks

  DVBLogic TVSource and channel scan
Posted by: OrakelJos - 2010-01-16, 12:05 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

On a testrig with server 2003 I have installed a TechnoTrend 1501-C with GBPVR and softcam. This works perfectly, even better than my "production" machine with the same card and a Alphacrypt HW Cam.
I am also testing out DVBLogic TVSource because this program can emulate up to 4 tuners and pass on the decrypted streams to WMC, MP and in fact to any media program. The advantage is that every card has its own instance and plugins for decrypting Smile
The virtual tuner is properly recognised (after adding it to bda.ini) in GBPVR. I have made a simple 0010.ini file to describe the transponder streams. Scanning of the channels work but all come back with the channel description Channel Unknown.
I have read on another forum that it could have to do with the fact that GBPVR does not understand unicode in SDT packets (0x11 followed by a unicode string). Other programs don't have thos problem is what I heard.
Anyone who can shine some light on this?

  Occasional Glitches In The Audio
Posted by: skycyclepilot - 2010-01-16, 11:28 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I'm running GBPVR with an HVR2250, and on live TV, I hear a little break or glitch in the audio every three or four seconds. I haven't tried much, because I'm not sure where to start. I'm hoping someone has seen something similar...

  mvpmcx2 Key Mapping
Posted by: mvallevand - 2010-01-16, 06:01 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (22)

In preparation for the next release of mpvmcx2 I thought I'd explain how the KeyMapping functionality can be configured.

I. mvpmcx2.ini format

The functionality is enabled with a file called mvpmcx2.ini that can optionally stored in the mvpmc share or with mvpmcx2 if you are running via CSI

The Format of the mvpmcx2.ini is a follows

[MAC]
Key=Function

MAC is the real MAC address you want to change the default functionality. If you want to change the default for more than one NMT you can use [RemoteMap] as a global name.

Key is the the NMT Key you are remapping, Function is the GBPVR function key you would like to action on the press

II. Keys
Valid mappable keys are Source, Title, Menu, Return, Audio, Subtitle, Angle, TVMode, PageUp, PageDown, Home, Repeat, Setup, Delete, TimeSeek, and Slow

You can also define Ctrl0 - Ctrl9 These keys requre two keys Eject 0 Eject 1 Eject 2 etc. By default

Ctrl1 is VideoLibrary
Ctrl2 is LiveTV
Ctrl3 is Pictures (which some people make to recordings in config.xml)

III. Functions

The Hauppauge functions keys are Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, Guide, TV, Pictures, Videos, Music, Back, Menu, VolumeUp,VolumeDown, ChannelUp, ChannelDown, Record, PrevChannel

These are also available for future growth but they aren't used by GBPVR Star, Subtitle, Blank, Full

IV. Examples

This file will change the default behaviour for PageUp and PageDown to control volume

Code:
[RemoteMap] PageUp=VolumeUp PageDown=VolumeDown

For EGreat M34a users I might suggest something like this (Blue is on Info already)

Code:
[0006DC41CE68] TVMode=Red TimeSeek=Green SubTitle=Yellow Delete=Record Source=Menu

Noobie Questions about PCH and GBPVR
Posted by: nurowolf - 2010-01-16, 05:29 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

Hi All

I have a basic question about GBPVR and PCH that I need to understand B4 i look into this as an option.

To get PCH to work with GBPVR we must install MVPMCX2 onto the PCH machine.

Does this replace or supplement the UI of the PCH?

For Example - would the standard menu be there still and then GBPVR a menu item that is activated upon selection?

I really like the PCH for all no PVR media related activities - but GBPVR of course rocks for PVR.

Also - is there away to get PCH to work with GBPVR without MVPMCX2? Or would this be limited to recorded video only and not live TV?

I really like the look of the new A200 for a bedroom device (I understand that MVPMCX2 doe not work with it yet - but I need to get a feel for how this all works before I work out a direction I take.)

  VideoReDo TVSuite v4
Posted by: pcostanza - 2010-01-16, 05:02 AM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

VideoReDo has just released TVSuite 4 with H.264 support. I've worked with it over the last 5 weeks or so as it reached it's final testing and have been impressed with it. I've used Showanalyzer for many of my files but have always kept VRD around and now that it can work with H.264, saving my larger files has just gotten easier.
I think you can use if for a 15 day trial if anyone is interested (I don't work for any software company). I've also found their forum to be very helpful as well.

Video Library Resume - Filename only, ignore path
Posted by: psycik - 2010-01-16, 01:52 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Personally I move files between my PVR and Home Server a bit. So the playback position, which stores the full path and filename of the file contains a lot of duplicates.

Just thought it would be nice if the playback position lookup was on the filename only rather than the full path.

No sound only some channels analog Live TV
Posted by: williaea - 2010-01-16, 01:02 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Greetings everyone,

I have been successfully using GBPVR 1.3.11 for about a year now - until the past few weeks I have had no issues.

Comcast analog cable in Pennsylvania, USA.

System: Windows XP, AMD 4850e / 780G Foxconn board / dual Hauppauge PVR 150's. ATI MPEG video decoder, AC3 audio decoder. video decoder is from the install a year ago and has not been updated. AC3 was installed today as an attempt to "fix" the problem. Used to use Intervideo non CSS audio decoder

Recently some of my recordings have had no sound. Also notices some Live TV programs have no sound. I have played the raw files back in Windows Media Player and still have no sound.

Actaully uninstalled GBPVR tonight and reinstalled 1.3.11 - no change in status (kept original config and recordings-dump.xml's)

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated?!

Eric

  DVBLink
Posted by: mvallevand - 2010-01-15, 10:59 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

I picked up a HD PVR at a good Boxing Day price ($160) and it finally is getting delivered next week. One of the things I like about MythTV is remote tuners and I'd like to see the HD PVR used as a network tuner. I thought that this wasn't possible on GBPVR but the I read about DVBLink and I see they mention GBPVR. Does anyone have experience with it, the homepage is here http://dvblogic.com/

Edit the thumb up was by accident, but i can't change it.

Martin
