  New gbpvr webpage
Posted by: Hairy - 2010-01-01, 05:48 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (89)

Hey folks,

A belated Happy Holidays and new year to one and all Smile.

So after the old gbpvr website was lost to the internets, I thought it was a good excuse to finally try and work out how website are put together and see if I could put something together. Well after a couple of days dealing with frustrating code, my nemesis Rolleyes, I gave up and posted the design on the forums. whurlston stepped up and put the page together and all was well.

Except I was disappointed I hadn't stuck at it and made more progress. This holiday I decided that I'd have another go at working it out. So without further a do, ladies and jelly spoons, I give you my suggestion for a new gbpvr webpage:

http://gbpvrwebpage.110mb.com/

(it's temporary free hosting, so it's a little slow)

Now given that this is my very first go at this, I have no doubt it needs tweaking for compatibility. So I'm looking for some help from any experienced heads out there. It displays fine for me in IE8 and the latest firefox (edit: it's also just checked out okay in safari on a mac), but it does use javascript (jQuery Tools).

So try it out and kick the tires and let me know what you think. I'd also appreciate any help with the content, because I'm no Shakespeare.

  Commercial Detection Setting in Config
Posted by: ww4397 - 2010-01-01, 03:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hi and Happy New Year,

I have Show Analyzer (SA) set to "Run during recording, instead of after recording" on the Processing tab of Config. When recording an analog channel (i.e. a .mpg file is being produced) SA starts as soon as the show starts - as it should. However, when I record a digital channel (i.e. a .ts file is being produced) SA does not start. I am using TS Mux as the BDA Multiplexer.

Is there a setting somewhere that I need to make/adjust? Is this a bug?

Thanks in advance.

  Strange Problems With Recordings
Posted by: skycyclepilot - 2010-01-01, 01:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (25)

I've been using GBPVR for a long time, but a new problem has cropped up, and I haven't got a clue. I hope someone has seen this before...

Occasionally, a recorded show will be listed in "What's New" with a recorded time of, for example, 7:00 AM to 6:59 AM. The recording is not on on the hard drive.

This morning, a show was supposed to record from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM, but the GBPVR icon in the tray never turned green. I tried to watch the show as it was recording, but clicking on Live TV would do nothing. I let the the recording end normally. After the recording supposedly completed, GBPVR listed it in "What's New" one time, then it disappeared. The show was not on the hard drive.

I've reinstalled GBPVR a couple of times, and have even clean reinstalled Windows 7 a couple of times...

  HVR 1600 remote sensor?
Posted by: tasan - 2010-01-01, 09:28 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Does anyone with a two card setup have one they'd sell me? I seem to have fried mine with a nasty zap of static electricity. I got up to adjust it since I had noticed it had gotten shoved behind the vcr. It was working fine immediately before, and right after the zap neither my Hauppauge remote or my universal will work. My card still works fine and dandy.

Ebay didn't turn up any hits. I figured I'd ask around here before going through Hauppauge for a replacement.

For some reason everytime I try to play an MP3, the screen just goes back to the main menu and no MP3 ever plays. This doesnt happen on my server, it only is happening on my client. I have reinstalled 4 times.

Enhanced Web Admin (EWA) Build 82 Released
Posted by: UncleJohnsBand - 2010-01-01, 01:35 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - No Replies

Build 81 of EWA has been released. You can download it directly here or on the wiki.

Post any issues in the EWA Support Sub-Forum.

Date: 2009-12-31 Build Number: 82 Changes:

  • UncleJohnsBand: Added experimental Windows Mobile Streaming option using - WM Video, WMA2 Audio, ASF Mux.
  • UncleJohnsBand: Corrected Search by description issues.
  • UncleJohnsBand: Added maxRecordings as a returned element in the web service DetailService call.
  • whurlston: Removed color coding pop-up in guide.aspx to use a javascript hover display instead.
  • UncleJohnsBand: Changed part of web service encryption logrythm to use Rfc2898DeriveBytes insted of PasswordDeriveBytes.
    • This provided needed support for PHP encryption library compatability.

  • UncleJohnsBand: Corrected VLC streaming issue that impacted streaming outside of the local network.
    • Streaming now works with VLC 9.x and 1.x (recommend 1.x).

  • UncleJohnsBand: Corrected the version info not displaying on CSS page footers after initial page load.
  • UncleJohnsBand: Added a TinyURL link for downloading entries in Manage Recordings and Music and Video Libraries in both tabls and CSS screens.
    • The link is on the Details pop-up for items in Manage Recordings page.
    • Clicking the file name in the Library screens will open a pop-up with the link in it.

  • UncleJohnsBand: CSS General Notes:
    • CSS Note: To access CSS based screens use guide2.aspx as your start page.
    • CSS Note: CSS screens are coded in strict standards mode. This will make future updates easier and provides the best cross-browser (Firefox / IE) compatibility. However, this also means that the CSS sceens will only be fully supported by IE 7 and FireFox. Some screens will not work correctly in IE6. Sorry.
    • CSS Note: CSS screens are optimized for screens with 1024x768 resolution or higher. Lower resolution will just cause more scrolling on some screens.
    • CSS Note: Please post feedback/bugs in the EWA CSS Guide sticky thread located in the EWA support forum.
