I am installing a Hauppauge hvr-930c and I am having trouble getting all channels tuned correctly. I'm running on danish provider "Stofa" dvb-c which uses a combination of QAM64 and QAM 256. When I do a scan using the "Digital channel mapping" tools in the config program the scan defaults to QAM64. How do I change this to 256? (Stofa does not provide a list of the frequencies, which is why scanning is my only option)
Just got a UB435-Q ATSC USB tuner last week after using a PVR-150 for the past 2-4 years. Am still using the 150 without any problems recording or transcoding the *.mpg recordings to Xvid using VideoReDo Plus & AGK. On the other hand...using the 435 to record some test programs to do the same thing...I get truncated file times/sizes on the files & out of sync audio. For instance...for a 22 minute program...the time after editing usually reads between 11 to 12 minutes.
From what I understand...any ATSC tuner just records whatever is sent out the transmitter without regard to the quality settings I would setup for the 150. Does anyone have any suggestions on editing/encoding files to get better results?
I like everything so far about gbpvr - the only thing that I really miss from MediaPortal is how it keeps a database of what you have watched and what's not been watched. For example. When I go into my "Star Trek" directory, I'll know right away that I have last watched 4x20 and then can now watch 4x21. The colour is different (darker text means new). Is there anything like this in gbpvr (plugin perhaps?) I have searched through the forums, and haven't found mention of it. I love the speed and simplistic interface, just I really miss this feature :-) Thanks for any help!

How do i get both tuners working with both analog and digital

I have to add 4 total
2 analog
2 digital
However 2 capture card types are showing up 2200 and 2250
I have Capture device #1 thru capture device #8 (i only have 1 2250 installed)

I have been looking into improving my disk performance for those times when it is under load. BigMoose told me about enabling AHCI mode on SATA drives, but I can't seem to determine how to do that...there doesn't seem to be any such mode in my BIOS. Perhaps it is a 64-bit protocol and XP has it locked out (although the BIOS should still show it).
In addition: I have a spare Gig or so of memory, and could very cheaply have 5. I have been considering installing either a large disk cache in that space or a RAM disk to take up Live TV buffering (or possibly both). Does anyone have any opinions or experiences about this? The RAM disk could also be the location for the Windows Swap file.
Regarding the Live TV buffer: What happens if the allocated volume runs out of space? Does the buffer clear and reset, or does it cause problems?
For some reason, my cable service has some channels duplicated. For example, ABC is channel 8, but the exact same content is available on channels 11, 80, 82, and 114.
When I do a search, every result is listed five times - once for each channel. In the configuration, I uncheck all the duplicate channels, and that keeps them from showing up in the TV guide, but they still show up is searches.
I can delete the duplicate channels in the capture source, but the next time the EPG is updated, they come right back.
It's just an annoyance in an otherwise stellar program, but I would like to be able to fix it. Is it possible, or will the code have to be rewritten?
I am a brand new user to NMT with GBPVR (Popcorn Hour A-100). I've been using GBPVR for awhile. I went through the NMTInstall and was able to get the client up going through the Popcorn's Network Browser. I've played around for a bit and am very impressed. One thing that I haven't resolved is the menu aspect ratio. It appears that it is showing me a 16X9 menu, but I have a 4X3 TV hooked to the NMT. The menus hang off the left side and I've got a big black bar at the bottom.
I'm sure there is an easy solution, but I don't see it. I have attached a picture of the screen since it can explain what I see better than I can type it and the MVP log.
I am continuing this thread from here http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...21&page=23 after the SAF failed to install on my system. The reason that I cannot use Hoborg's SAF is not due to any fault on its part, but because I must keep conflicting codecs in order for my online TV streamers to run.
As an alternative, I have installed the K-Lite codec pack and configured ffdshow according to advice from pBS here http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ht=ffdshow . As I am an ATI Radeon user, I also have the Avivo codecs installed for MPEG2, and I use the CoreAVC h.264 decoder. In order for MOV files to play through the Directshow filter, I had to install an older version of the Quicktime Alternative codec (version 1.68 as advised in the doc wiki for the Cinema plugin http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/Cinema).
This has successfully restored playback for all codecs that I can think of (I haven't tried MP4 or Real). However, I have some lingering doubts...
Firstly, rumour has it that ffdshow will "take over" playback even if it is not selected in GBPVR's config. This appears to be the case for me; ffdshow is playing my live TV recordings and other MPEG2 files, even though I have selected for Avivo to do so (which I prefer due to the GPU processing and overall quality). Strangely, this seems to be the case even after I turn off mpeg2 entirely in ffdshow's configuration. Other than setting config to ATIMPEG, how can I force the use of Avivo codecs for this file?
Secondly, a minor annoyance with MOV files is that there is a slight "jerk" (imperceptible to my wife) every second or so. If anyone knows a tweak, that would be useful.
I am trying to get my Asus EHD3-100 tuner working with GBPVR but whenever I do a channel scan it doesn't pick up any channels. I currently have the tuner hooked up to my antenna and am trying to pick up OTA digital signals. With the Asus tv app that came with the card, I can pick up all of the local stations (total of 11 channels including sub channels) so I know that the card works and can pick up signals.
