I've encountered a problem whereby since by upgrade to Windows 7, my client can no longer modify the database on the Windows 7 GBPVR server. When I browse to the network share (//gbpvr/gbpvr/) and try and write a file, Windows pops up the error "You need permission to perform this action".

I've checked on the server, and the folder is shared with Full Control and Write permissions.

I'm a little stumped. I look forward to finding out what blindingly obvious step I've missed out!

1.4.7

My hardware:
OS: Win XP Pro SP3
Capture Card: Terratec Cinergy 1200 DVB-C (BDA drivers 4.8.3.18)
Graphic card: Asus GeForce EN6200LE TC512 TD 256MB
Mainboard: Asus P5Q3
Hard Drives: Several Samsung drives (one 2.5, rest 3.5)

My situation:
I use GBPVR on my server for recording only. I then use the web interface to access GBPVR and to play the recordings on my clients. My server is configured in a way that it should go into standby after 15 minutes.

My problem:
When I hit the “Play Program” button on the “Manage Recordings” tab on the web interface the selected recording starts to play. So far so good. But exactly after 15 minutes my server goes into standby, resumes immediately and then crashes immediately.

All I see is a black screen and the server is completely dead. All I can do is to hit the power button for longer than 5 seconds to power off the machine.

There is no error message in the logs (see attached zip file). There is no error message in the event viewer of windows.

Same problem on (mostly) different machine:
I have had the same problem with another machine. I used this one in the same way as described above. Its hardware configuration was:

AND:
Besides that, the server crashes randomly with the same symptoms. It goes into standby, resumes immediately and crashes immediately. I then have a black screen as well and the machine is completely death. Again no error messages in the logs or Windows event viewer. The same happened with the old server too.

My suggestions:
So maybe this has nothing to do with GBPVR but since both machines are/were dedicated to GBPVR and have completely different hardware components I predict that GBPVR causes the problems. Also I can not find threads in the forum from users having problem with the capture card I use.

Any help is really appreciated.

Anyone have any idea what would cause this? When I am watching TV and I have the smaller guide pop up at the bottom of the screen, the video gets really choppy. I don't know exactly how to describe it other than it gets somewhat "pixelated" with large rectangular boxes that run horizontally. I am wondering if my CPU or RAM should be a little higher.

I am running:

Windows XP
GBPVR
1.4 Athlon
768MB (1 512, 1 256) RAM
Hauppauge HVR-1600
128MB SAPPHIRE RADEON 9000PRO

I am seeing that while watching LiveTV, I am using about 40% CPU usage. When I pull up the menu, it immediately jumps to 99%. So, I'd say that's my problem.

I am currently just running on my monitor until I can get an adapter cable to hook to my "antique" TV.

I can upgrade the RAM with a 1GB stick for $23....So, I'd be running 1.5 GB of RAM, effectively doubling it.
I can also purchase an Athlon XP 2500 (1.8GHz, with the ability to overlock it for more) for $17

Would one or both of these make a huge difference? So far I am really happy with how it's working, I'd just like to make sure there are no hiccups otherwise the wife will get fed up with it. It's about 95% of the way to where I want it to be

This is driving me totally nuts & I'm not sure if it's something wrong with my setup or what is causing it? I know sub has already answered a similar question I ask a long time ago for the MVP but this from my NMT seems extreme to me.

I am finding the display from my NMT connected to my 33" CRT is "MILES" different to how it displays on the PC screen & it makes modifying skins almost impossible as things don't seem to grow bigger always in the same direction.

This code does not seem to work with the Avermedia M-792
I also have a Haupaugge HVR-1950 set up to look at different analog cable channels and it works fine.
Looking at the filtercheck.log (attached) the 2 units look the same and the code in the direct file for the HVR-1950 is almost identical to the Avermedia card.
When I run the 'TuningAssistant' I get good video from the Avermedia card (strangely I get no video from the HVR-1950 but that works in the app.).

Can anyone shed some light on what might be going on, or point me in the right direction? My goal is to use the Avermedia card in this HTPC as the Hauppauge USB unit was in service in a different unit.

As an additional note, the avermedia card does not seem to work in analog mode in WMC. Do I have a bad card? if so why does the video display in 'TuningAssistant'?

I've searched all over and can't seem to find the answer.
I've got a ATI TV Wonder HD650 http://ati.amd.com/products/tvwonder650/PCI/index.html, I have successfully mapped my ota digital channels but now I can't figure out how to get my ota analog channels into my guide or live tv. I can view them through the crappy ATI program but not though gbpvr.
I have the digital side listed in config. Do I need to create another entry for the analog side of the card?
I have mc2xml all setup to get my epg.
Any help would really be appreciated. My wife is starting to lose interest in my little "project"

I am using a Pinnacle Ultimate stick and am looking for a new viewer that uses less CPU. I am trying to use your product to capture the output of a cable box and gbpvr is not seeing channel 3.
Does your product support this configuration?

I've 3 TV cards that find the same tv channels. In the Guide I see 3 time the same channel: How can I avoid that? How can I see only one channel per name?

Just added a Technotrend 1501C with CI, Alphacrypt CAM and official Irdeto2 smartcard from the cablecompany.
Had already two HVR-2200's for analogue channels.
EPG for the HVR-2200's is done through XMLTV and for the TT1501 I am using dvb epg.
As long as I am doing a manual update with the GBPVR tray applet everything works o.k. but the automatic update in the night at 2:00 is causing the GBPVR recording service to stop completely, no hang but a real stop. Restarting the service does not always work and I have to reboot the machine to get everything working again.
Windows event logs do not show anything aroud that time and even the GBPVR logs (see attachment) do not give me a clue what is happening here.
Has anybody seen this behaviour before?
