  GUI (pvrx2) comes up empty
Posted by: dhoogmoed - 2009-12-01, 07:56 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi All,

My first post: I have started tinkering with an older PC (Pentium 4 2.4Ghz / 512Mb RAM)and GPPVR 1.4.7. I'm using a Hauppauge HVR-1300 capture card.

After initial install all was well (although I could see the hardware struggling a bit). However, after a windows driver update (hauppauge and audio drivers mainly) the GUI comes up completely empty. Only the window's frame shows. I'm pretty sure GBPVR still works as you can still select functions - only you can't see what you're selecting. As soon as you exit the selected function (say live TV) it goes back to the empty window.

I have removed and re-installed GBPVR already but to no avail. I've tried to switch skin - no joy.

Has anyone seen this before and if so was it fixable? If not I can feel a complte rebuild coming on.

  video inset
Posted by: re-Barr - 2009-12-01, 07:02 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

So I have been working on getting video inset working on my machine... and when I hit menu on my hauppauge remote it does nothing. I have looked in the config.xml file and I have set any and all video inset options that I found to true but when I crank back up pvrx2 the log shows the setting as false. I have tried restarting recording service and also restarting the computer... neither worked. I have also tried this with blue and blue retro shv skins. Again I got no results. And by that I mean pressing the menu button seems to do nothing on screen. attached is my config and the .exe log from both skins. So what setting am I missing?

Oh also I tried this last night also setting the config file to say true and the logs read false... today the config read false. config.xml that is.

Oh and special thanks to Deusxmachina and fering for informing me about the possibility of this feature.

Will this software be able to do what I need?
Posted by: ginetti - 2009-12-01, 05:59 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi There.

I hope someone here can help me out. What I need to do is achieve the following.

I need to record 3 different radio stations simultaneously, and later in the day (once the radio stations have stopped recording), I need to record 2 TV channels. This is a daily recording scheduel.

I was told I'd need 3 capture cards, which I have.

I am also very confused on which Software I should use. I am actually not very good with both hardware nd software, so any advice here would be appreciated.

Will this software do the trick?

I also have a rough Idea of the system I will need, and it is this:

Motherboard- Gigabyte GA-EP41-UD3L
CPU- Intel Dual Core E7500 @ 2.66Ghz
Ram- 4Gb Corsair XMS Kit 800Mhz
HDD- 500Gb Hitachi 7200 RPM
Case/ Tower- Antec NSK 4480B-11
Display- BenQ G2402 Full HD 1080p
DVD- BenQ 22X DVD r/w
[b]Graphics Card- HIS ATI 4350 512Mb DDR2 64Bit
Sound- Onboard 3D Audio
Input- Genius Keyboard & Mouse Combo
Operating System- Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit

The 3 capture cards are Unicenter R11 Remote Control Video Capture adaptors

I am in desperate need of help, so, just like in the 5th element, Please... Help!

Thanks in advance,

Ginetti.

  Disappointing TS mux performace
Posted by: zaldwaik - 2009-11-30, 10:02 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I have recently added popcorn hour to my setup and had to change my mux to ts. However, I am having timeline issues with my recordings on the main TV. Compskip cuts used to be perfect with dvr-mx, not any more. The video goes out of synch sometimes for no obvious reason. There are random forward jumps that are annoying, again for no obvious reason.

I cannot go back to dvr-mx, I really hope there is a way around this, or better yet, a fix. My recordings are all ATSC 720p and 1080i. I use Nvidia purvideo decoder which worked perfectly with dvr-ms.

  srt usage spikes CPU
Posted by: zaldwaik - 2009-11-30, 09:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I have recently rebuilt my computer and I am using the latest release. I am having an issue with mkv movie playback that I did not have before. Whenever I decide to view srt subtitles my cpu spikes going from 50% to 100% making the video unwatchable. I tried this on a number of files with the same results. I am using overlay manager with CoreAVC as my decoder.

My last setup used the old interface with overlay and this was never an issue.

I hope there is a way to fix it as I watch a lot of MKVs.

Thanks

  Sudden "video slowdown"
Posted by: keith_leitch - 2009-11-30, 09:37 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (24)

I woke up this morning to a new problem. (Just once, I wish I could clear up an "old problem" without a new one joining me). Regardless of what renderer I use, PVRx2 now plays in a "slow and jerky" manner. The effect is so bad that the lips are often out of sync by a full second, and the image will then "jump" as if to catch up with the audio. I can clearly see what look vaguely like interlacting lines, and high-action scenes are virtually unwatchable due to blurring.

This seems to be based on some sort of "slowdown", as even when using the menus each option responds slowly, and dialogs "jerk open". However, I initial investigation points to PVRx2; the video seems to play fine (or, as well as it ever plays) in Media Player and Media Player Classic, and the system response time outside of the PVRx2 interface seems normal.

A full virus scan shows only some tracking cookies that were successfully cleaned. Does anyone have any ideas?

OTA analog and Digital with HVR 1600
Posted by: Ifixcomputers - 2009-11-30, 08:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi Guys,

I'm using an HVR-1600, Win XP sp3, and GBPVR 1.4.7.

I'm able to get/record digital channels fine for months but I'm trying to figure out how to capture analog signals. Right now I have single hvr 1600 card setup capturing video using the BDA recorder, but I'm not sure how to pull analog signals in as well. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

Thanks in advance

DVB-S Scan OK but no EPG or live pic
Posted by: houndini - 2009-11-30, 06:45 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi,

I completly reinstalled my system and added a Nova Se2. Than I do the setup I can see a picture and he finds a lot of Programs, but when when I updated the EPG though; the guide stated that it may take a while, but it took merely a few seconds and then closed. I didn't see any EPG data and didn't see a list of channels. When I swich to live view I do not get any pictures also. Update the EPG in the pvr menu wont help either. I also can not map any channels :o

What do I do wrong?

No Channels found after mapping scan?
Posted by: excx - 2009-11-30, 04:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I know this is a familiar problem. My scan DOES show a signal strength and quality unlike another post where it was not registering. None of the channels show up as found though?

I initially had the problem where I could not get it to scan, receiving the error msgs. cant find your card or the make sure your card is config. properly or already in use. I uninstalled/reinstalled everything now have the above prob.
