  recording skipping and clipping
Posted by: chewy747 - 2009-12-03, 03:29 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Im going to try my best to explain what seems to be multiple problems.

Im using GBPVR 1.47
(2) Hauppauge PVR150
WINXP HOME SP2
AMD Athlon 64 Processor 2800+
1.81 GHz
512 MB RAM

What I have going on is more and more having issues with recordings. The recordings will either look like it is ok but during playback the video will either automatically skip to another location in the video or it can happen when we try to skip ahead. Unfortunatly it doesnt always happen, one recording can be fine and the next not. The file is messed up when I play it in WMP or VLC. The recording should be 60 minutes but it is only 30 minutes or so. ( I am looking at the latest example)

I also have a similar issue where the file is extremly short(maybe 10 minutes or so) watching it in GBPVR or WMP, but it is full length in VLC.

I have read post about drivers for the pvr150 or comskip issue, but im not sure where to start with this. any advice or guidance would be appreciated.

I am attaching some logs for gbpvr and 2 recording that are messed up

  wizmetadata - no descriptions?
Posted by: tvshowman - 2009-12-02, 10:57 PM - Forum: SearchWiz & MovieWiz - Replies (7)

Hi JavaWiz,

I noticed that I had casts appearing in the descriptions for the data and I turned off any extra data and none of my shows have a description of the movies? Is there a setting I need to make to enable the download of movie description or is this auto and has the data been changed and thus not downloading the movie descriptions?

Was trying to find a movie to watch and kept getting actor names and I can't see what the movie is about and can't seem to get the grabber to get that info.

Thanks for any help

cheers

MKV -Client won't use MPC Video Decoder
Posted by: dennit - 2009-12-02, 09:35 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

The GBPVR server plays an MKV file fine inside GBPVR using the MPC video decoder and other filters. Those filters appear in the server's logs as expected. When the same MKV is opened in the client with GraphStudio, it also plays fine and uses the same filters that the server uses. However, when the client tries to play the file inside GBPVR I get a black screen and the following log entry that shows no attempt to use MPC video decoder.

Code:
2009-12-02 16:10:03.531 VERBOSE getSetting(VerticalZoom) 2009-12-02 16:10:03.531 VERBOSE getSetting(ListGraphFilters) 2009-12-02 16:10:03.531 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters: 2009-12-02 16:10:03.531 VERBOSE - Video Renderer 2009-12-02 16:10:03.531 VERBOSE - Default DirectSound Device 2009-12-02 16:10:03.531 VERBOSE getSetting(SaveGraphFiles)

Does anyone have any suggestions? I thought GBPVR just handed off MKV to Windows/Directshow. It does this correctly with the server. It does plays fine on the client's copy of GraphStudio/GraphEdit. Why won't GBPVR play it on the client?

I've tried several video/audio decoder settings, and they were all set to System Default when the test above was done.

  Nova T 500 Faulty?
Posted by: peterh - 2009-12-02, 08:34 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Building a replacement for my trusty W2K GBPVR with new components. Tuner 1 on Nova TD 500 maps fine. Tuner 2 scans first channel (41) and finds 7 TV channels and thereafter reports zero signal strength for the other 5 channels it scans. Copied the contents of tuner 1 cache into tuner 2 cache but it still won't show anything in preview other than the first 7. Any other ideas beyond a fualty card?

  No remote after installing 2250
Posted by: donschjr - 2009-12-02, 06:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I added a 2250 to my pc yesterday and only installed the drivers. I got everything set up and worked great all last night then this morning I noticed the pc didn't go to sleep during the night. I rebooted the pc and now my hauppauge remote doesn't work I tried it in all 3 cards and in wintv and GBPVR and it won't work. I've even tried reinstalling the ir driver. The remote worked fine all last evening.

  Any GBPVR alternative to YAMJ
Posted by: zaldwaik - 2009-12-02, 03:53 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (11)

I have a large collection of movies on different drives and computers. I am wondering if there is a GBPVR plugin that I can use with MVPMCX2 as an alternative to YAMJ so I stay within one interface without worrying about multiple shares.

  Multiple Clients
Posted by: zaldwaik - 2009-12-02, 03:22 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (8)

I like my PCH setup with GBPVR so much that I am thinking of adding another one on the top of my server because it performs better when it comes to playback. I am planning to use a cross-over network cable connected to the 2nd ethernet port on my server. I presume using a bridged USB cable is not an option?

Right now I using the index page with auto load. I want to do the same with the second client. Is having a second share the best way to do that?

Given that I used the dummies guide to install, will I need to add the second client manually?

Finally, will I lose anything other than the slower response from PCH as opposed to the server?

Thanks a lot.

  Client/Server Combo
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2009-12-02, 11:00 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

Hi sub!

I have a wish for GB-PVR:

Could you enable something like a combined Server/Client per PC? In detail i mean something like this:

You have a GB-PVR Server with builtin TV Cards for recording.

The Client can access the server an record from it's shared EPG (like now via Stream/File Share). But! LiveTV shouldn't only be streamed via LAN or fileshare. It should be possible to integrate a tv-card for it's own in the GB-PVR client. Just for watching live tv or teletext, NOT for recording.

This could be a solution for one or two problems within my network. Big Grin

  Problem: GB-PVR LiveTV Client Mode
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2009-12-02, 10:52 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have currently a problem with the setting "File Sharing". While "streaming mode" is running nearly fine (it loves to stop and freeze GB-PVR after channelchange), the file sharing mode isn't working properly.

In detail it looks like this:
• I start GB-PVR on the Client
• I select Live TV
• Live TV starts after a short time (on the server a file is created in the recordings directory)
• After the recording file reaches ~8 MB the playback stops and i am back in the main menu!

The debug logs displays something like "stop stop stop" and i don't know why this is. The Logs are attached, so everyone can take a look.

The folders are looking like this:
Server (192.168.0.3)
H:
_____\Video
__________\Aufnahmen
_______________\Timeshift

Client (192.168.0.201) (folders are connected via Netshare)
H:
_____\Video
__________\Aufnahmen
_______________\Timeshift

Wired LAN is fast enough. Firewall checked (disabled changes nothing).
