I know this is dealt with other places on the forums, but have battled to make sense of it, and how I can resolve my issues.

Simply, if I play a video at 1280x720 through GBPVR it stutters every few seconds, but if I play it through media player on the same pc it runs fine.

Things I have tried:
1) using FFMpeg to drop the bitrate to less than 1000k/s. Quality obviously is a shocker but playback still stutters (using a qscale of 31)
2) Reduce resolution. Anything above 720x576 stutters, but at 720x576, even using a qscale of 2 or 3, it plays fine, so I assume it can't be bitrate.
3) Have tried (all separately), changing from VMR9 custom to exclusive, changed the decoder from FFDShow to default to Cyberlink.
4) I have manually changed the CPU priority for PVRx2.EXE to high

What I have figured out, I think, is that every few seconds, something in GBPVR is spiking the CPU usage, which makes the video stutter. I found this through playing the video through Media Player, whilst having GBPVR running in the background.

I know the specs question will come up: Athlon XP2400+ 2Gb Ram, MX440 graphics card.

Is there anything I should look out for in GBPVR that is spiking the CPU usage on a regular basis, or do I have to just accept that for my PC, GBPVR will not playback HD?

I do believe that this is a problem outside of PVRX2 - but I am running out of ideas.....

Since some time back the picture quality on channels on one specifix mux has gradually gone from bad (stuttering, glitches) to a more binay - zero. As wife complaints has increased during the above quality degradation I really need to do something.

My setup is basically:

• OS = WinXP SP3
  
• DriverVer=08/04/2009 - 2.124.27191.1 (same problem with other drivers = 2.119.25023 etc)
  
• Card = Hauppauge HVR-1300
  

Not sure what I've done to mess up my system. Over the last couple weeks, I added a new video card (Radeon HD4650), and a webcam. Somewhere along the line Comcast changed their cable lineups as well.

I started having trouble getting QAM channels on my HVR-1600, so I rescanned my QAM, and re-mapped several channels. The rescan worked fine I found all my channels, sound and video displayed in the tool.

However, now, in PVRX2, QAM does not play at all, no video, no sound.

Attached are logs that show attempts to watch tv:

Channel 5 - qam SD
Channel 105 - qam HD
Channel 529 - analog

In this example, even the analog does not work. If I choose the analog channel first (comcast STB), it will display, and as long as I stay on analog channel (STB), everything works. But as soon as I go to a QAM only channel, no video, no sound...

Any ideas?

I should note, I re-installed WinTV 7, it finds and displays the channels fine.

I have had certain shows setup to record 5 shows only. However, over time it appears as though something becomes broken as some shows maintain the maximum number of shows and delete the old while others grow beyond the maximum number I've established.

How do I fix this and get it established again? I even tried deleting the recurring request and started the recurring again..

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I am so tired of this I am at the point of paying for a solution. My capture card is an ATI TV Wonder Elite. I have a required cable box so using the tv tuner is out of the question. I tried setting things up using composite, external tuner, but when I start PVRX2 and click on Live TV it does nothing. I have read every forum and can't see anywhere where I have gone wrong with the config. Is it possible I have to set up the tuner as a capture source before setting up the composite, external tuner? If this is so how can I do this when my cable source requires my cable box?

hello- any clues...must be something very minor... I used to be able to record ATSC now when I record I get 0kb file length with video name. Config/Directories/recording Directories (e.g. buffer) pointing to a valid location, etc.

I have been experiencing issues now for the past couple of months at least, and after extensive testing I'm pretty sure I have it nailed as to what it is.

My Tuners comprise of 1 Nova-T 500 (twin tuner card) and 1 Nova-T PCI. The 2 Nova-T 500 tuners are at the top of the tuner list with the PCI at the bottom.

The symptoms are as thus: Overlapping recordings are being truncated regardless of remaining disk space, tuner availiabilty or any other issue I can think of. The affected recordings are always on one of the 500's tuners, and always stop when the alternate tuner is either started or stopped. Checking the logs show that GBPVR has no idea that the recording has ceased and carries on as if nothing has happened, which as other posts have noted, suggest that GBPVR is nothing to do with the issue.

I have the latest driver (4.3.27240) from the Hauppauge site, and am running GBPVR 1.4.7. I have tried using the Cyberlink & TS mux multiplexers. I have tried a clean GBPVR install. I have rearranged the tuners.

This issue for me has become endemic recently and has gone from a once in a while occasion, to pretty much every single overlapping recording. Whether this is due to more recent revisions of GBPVR being more succeptable, or due to aging effects on the card, or some other weirdness I have no idea.

My Questions therefore are the following:

1. I've checked exhaustively on the forums but has anyone got a fix for this issue that i've missed?

2. Does the Nova-TD 500 suffer the same issue? I'm at the point where I'm willing to throw hardware at the problem, but wasting £60 on a card if it has the same issue would be painful!

3. Is there another decent dual tuner DVB-T card around that would be worth a look? Dual Tuner is a necessity as I only have 2 PCI slots. I don't want a USB solution, USB is nothing but trouble for me on anything more complex than a mouse!

(I have attached logs, just incase anyone wants to have a look. An example occurs at 19:58 where Doctor Who was trucated by X factor. The recording stopped at 19:58 when X-Factor started, not at 20:00 as indicated in the log . BTW this was not a bad example, just one to hand.)

I've not been able to get Webradio to work and don't know why. It shows up in the plugins but I'm not able to access it...it won't allow me to get into settings (it won't light up).
It doesn't appear that it adds anything to my config. I had tried to input the info manually but it didn't work so I removed it.
My config is attached.

Downloaded iPlayer plug-in, configured it (I thought). but all that happens when I select the plug-in on the PVRx2 menu is that PVRX2 hangs. Not easy to get out of the hang either - mouse frozen amd system usually needs a reboot

I guess some misconfiguration. Attached in a zip of the ilpayer log file plus the config logfile. Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong
