I am stuck! I have been using gbpvr and the popcorn hour for a while. I recently built a new server, which is running server 2003 thats a domain controller and have have used this setup before, but for some reason I am struggling this time around. I can get gbpvr to work directly on the server, but its hit and miss on the popcorn. I used the latest NMTintall.exe for setup and have attached my log file for any appreciated help.
I have set the 'held key delay' in HIP to 700ms, so when I hold a key down on the remote it repeats every 0.7sec.
I would like to set it to less, but if I do GBPVR doesn't keep up. This means after I have stopped holding the button, scrolling of options keeps going for a while longer.
I know GBPVR can respond faster, as it goes much faster using the keyboard.
Is there a setting somewhere to fix this? (I can't find one)
Thanks
My install has developed an interesting problem. About two days ago I noticed that I can no longer watch Live TV, but recordings still occur okay. It turns out, from my untrained look at the logs, that recordings are being made on my Nova-T stick fine, but Live TV is sourced from my HVR-900.
On removal of the HVR-900, and running the box with only the Nova-T stick, Live TV works just fine.
On reconnection of the HVR-900, config is able to scan for channels and display picture and sound just fine. Can even hop between channels on request. However, when I save the config, open PVRX2 and try to watch Live TV, it just quits back to the GBPVR main menu.
If I now go back into config, the HVR-900 is set as a "Hauppauge Nova-S" on "Astra 1C". No matter how often I change it to a HVR-900, it never accepts the setting. It always goes back to a Nova-S.
The box was working perfectly up until the middle of the week. I'm quite confused, as far as I can tell no updates have been applied to the system. The box did crash once and require a hard boot, so I suspect maybe a database is corrupt, but before spending hours reinstalling and reconfiguring I thought I'd ask here in case there is a simple fix??
Thanks

I've been wondering for some time now the answer to this question - in the config program the slick skin has a picture of a green plant, but that picture doesn't seem to be anywhere in GBPVR. The skin has a blue background.
Am I missing something?

Hi there
I use a Terratec remote(the default one with the orange buttons)
If the computer comes up from "cold" everything is fine, but if it comes up from wake it dosn't respond, and i use the start_gbpvr utility so i should have focus.
I have tried to restart the remote-software, but it dosn't help....
I want to add a live365 username and password, and was wondering if there is a standard spot for developers to store passwords that they don't want to see uploaded. It seems the config.xml and gbpvr.db3 are not the best place for this.
I've been using GBPVR since '05 and it's been great. After the DTV switchover, I bought a hdhomerun tuner since that meant I could share the same unit with another computer around the house.
I've been having some problems using gbpvr with hdhomerun. I receive OTA broadcast. As with most things OTA, the signal drops out occasionally, sometimes for several seconds.
This seems to do bad things on playback with gbpvr. It would skip, sometimes for 10-20 mins of the program before continuing. I know it wasn't recording a blank during this time, because if I skip back using the remote, it would always let me play the jumped over parts.
I'd like to be able to playback without these big skips. Does anyone have any advice on how to overcome this problem? I searched the forums but couldn't seem to find an answer. I can put up with the short periods of signal loss, but it's a problem when gbpvr skips over huge chunks of the program before resuming playback.
Hi. I have been working on getting smooth playback for 2 months now.
I have tried to read all the posts and try a bunch of different combinations, but can't get GBPVR to play smoothly (medium quality, no HD channels). When I use VLC it can play HD and all the non-HD videos flawlessly. Does anybody have any suggestions? Is there a way I can add some buffer to GBPVR to enable smoother playback?
I don't need HD playback now and just want to watch a smooth video. I used to use the Hardware out of the PVR350, but after upgrading GBPVR this is no longer supported. Thank you for any help you can provide.
Here is my configuration:
3Ghz pent D
RAM: 2GB
Windows XP SP3 (updated)
video card:NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200
capture care: Hauppauge HVR-1600 (recording QAM); latest drivers
GBPVR:1.4.7
demuxers:
CyberLink MPEG Muxer 5.0.2022 (very jerky; freezes often)
ATI MPEG Multiplexer 9.14.0.60504 (some skips, best of three)
InterVideo Multiplexer 3.0.88.0 (freezes recordingservice and does not record any video)
video decoders:
cyberlink
Mainconcept
intervideo
ATI MPEG
