  GBPVR losing focus
Posted by: griffy - 2009-11-12, 10:20 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

I think AVG 9 causes GBPVR to lose focus, therefore the remote stops working.
I have uninstalled AVG 9 and so far so good.
Anyone else having this sort of problem lately?

  Configuration for Hauppauge HVR-2200
Posted by: dean70 - 2009-11-12, 10:04 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I have a single Hauppauge HVR-2200 setup with GB-PVR which I am trying to get 2 DVB recordings working simultaneously. I have added 2 instances in the device configuration and done the DVB channel scans on both successfully.

It will record a single channel perfectly, but if I set to record a second channel at the same time, all I will get in the recorded TS file is a screen saver type image for the whole duration. The first channel records fine.

Any ideas?

QAM scan not working on Windows 7
Posted by: steveum - 2009-11-12, 09:32 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (22)

The QAM scan on Windows 7 with GBPVR 1.4.7 is not finding any channels for either my HVR 1600 or HVR 1800.

I tried increasing the wait time to as follows:

<BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>5</BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>
<BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>25</BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>

Increasing these values did not change the scan behavior other than it took a lot longer.

I know the both cards are working, since the current preexisting mappings are working for the most part when recording or watching live tv. I have had one channel occasionally record the wrong program, so I wanted to rescan to see if I had the tuning information wrong.

I have attached my logs. They should only show my scan for the 1600. I did not reattempt the 1800 today.

I also setup QAM channels on Windows Media Center a few days back. Its scan appeared to work fine.

  ICL Stopped Working
Posted by: axeman91 - 2009-11-12, 08:15 PM - Forum: International Cinema Listings, RSS Reader, WebCams, Calendar, Files and Screen Saver - Replies (61)

Hi

ICL seems to have stopped finding and listings or cinema information suddenly. I'm using gogle movies as a source, but the log file suggests that it can't find any info. When I browse to google movies I can see all the info there using my cinema IDs. Any ideas? Logs attached

Thanks

PVRX2 not always showing "recording" in pending
Posted by: martint123 - 2009-11-12, 03:18 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

In the pending screen of PVRX2 it does not always show "recording", but "pending" for recordings that are currently recording.

The tray icon is green to show it is recording, double click tray and shows the tuner is recording, the file exists and is still growing, in the main recording (compared to in pre/post padding). When the recording + padding finishes, it appears OK as a new recording and drops out of pending.

I have only just recently noticed this - both on a PC client and the server when running PVRX2.

This has caused mild panic at times when checking on a client that a show is recording for SWMBO when it appears to no be working

So, all is working other than pending showing "recording" - never noticed it prior to 1.4.7
I have only noticed it happening about 3 or 4 times though....

  mc2xml problems
Posted by: n_wellman - 2009-11-12, 12:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (25)

I wanted to reach out to all of you GB-PVR users to see if you can find the answer to my issue. I have spent a couple days now trying to narrow down the possible solution, but have been unsuccessful so far. My problem is this; mc2xml finds all of the channel information for my area successfully, but it is much more than I actually receive on my satellite. As a US military member stationed in Germany our AFN Satellite service here has only 11 different channels as opposed to the 93 that mc2xml finds and downloads. So I have been trying unsuccessfully to implement the -C and -R codes to narrow down the xmltv.xml file to only the channels I need and also to rename them to something useful. As I said before, mc2xml is working well, I just cant get the updateEPG.bat file to correct the channel listings. Here is what I have:

In my C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\EPG directory I have the following files:
mc2xml application
mc2xml.chl channel file
mc2xml.ren rename file

In my C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR main directory, I created the updateEPG.bat file and its contents are as follows
C:
cd "C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\EPG"
mc2xml -C mc2xml.chl -R mc2xml.ren

I really would like to narrow my listings down so that the Search Guide feature doesn't find so much useless information. Thanks in advance for your help.

Nick

  Old Notebook, Low-end GPU
Posted by: temporos - 2009-11-12, 04:32 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I've tried a few USB tuner cards and have had to return them all, because of horrible, packaged software that demands too much of my computer.

Will GBPVR run on my system? I have an old Sony VAIO notebook with an IGP. My RAM and CPU exceed the system requirements, but I don't know if my GPU is sufficient. Here's what I have:

CPU: Mobile Intel Pentium 4 3.20 GHz
RAM: 1 GB
HDD: 5400 RPM 70 GB (approx 10 GB free)
GPU: ATI Radeon IGP 345M 64 MB shared VRAM
USB: 2.0 powered
OS: Windows XP SP3
Line-In: Analog Cable-TV (NTSC)

Can I watch TV using this hardware? I'd be using an external NTSC tuner via USB. Recording is not a priority; I just want to watch the cable TV I'm paying for (I don't own a TV).

Thanks! Smile

  No Live TV in Win7
Posted by: amorangi - 2009-11-12, 03:55 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I've installed and reinstalled everything about 5 times, used the correct vcredist_x86, deletedthe devnz folder under users, as all suggested on other threads, to no avail. I'm using a Nova T 500 tuner in NZ. The EPG guide is missing TV1,2,6 and 7 but getting all the others. Whenever I try to watch Live TV it's just blank. Here are my logs. Any help would be much appreciated.

  Wake-up events in 1.4.7
Posted by: namko - 2009-11-12, 03:33 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hello dears,
I would like to give notice about the problem with wake-up functionality.

If I do the following steps:
- schedule manually new recording for example for 5:00 am ,
- close GBPVR software
- go to GBPVR again, update pending recording: change the time from 5:00 am to 10:00 am

The effect will be:
- computer wakes up at 5:00, but nothing records
- if will be computer at 10:00 on, recording will be done, but if computer will be in stand-by mode, it doesn't wake up and nothing will be recorded

Simple said: update of date/time in pending recording doesn't update wake-up events .

You can also see it in GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log .
I have done exactly these steps and file contained only first setting of wake-up event:

2009-11-12 03:55:12.640 INFO Log started
2009-11-12 03:55:12.640 VERBOSE getSetting(LoggingLevel)
2009-11-12 03:55:12.671 INFO Logging Level is Debug
2009-11-12 03:55:12.671 VERBOSE getSetting(LoggingForceFlush)
2009-11-12 03:55:12.671 INFO Log flushing enabled
2009-11-12 03:55:12.671 VERBOSE Asking Windows to be awake for recording (oid: 5) at 2009-11-12 4:57:30 (UTC 2009-11-12 3:57:30)

Is it possible to repair this bug or is there any way to avoid this bug ? ( also "deletion" of update button in detailed screen for pending recording would be better than AS-IS state )

Thanks a lot

Roman
